Dickinson State University 8-19<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HOW IT HAPPENED<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Jimmies and Bluehawks were in a battle much of the first until a 5-0 scoring run by the Bluehawks gave them a five point lead over the Jimmies with 3:23 left to play&nbsp;<\/li><li>A&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/hali-savela\/18295\">Hali Savela<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;three pointer with with 46 seconds left a pair of free throws by&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/samantha-paulsen\/18294\">Samantha Paulsen<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;gave the Jimmies the lead to end the first quarter ahead by one 19-18&nbsp;<\/li><li>The second quarter the Jimmies found their shot sparked by two back to back&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/kate-cordes\/18282\">Kate Cordes<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;three pointers and going on a 14-4 run and taking a nine point lead 38-29 with 5:27 left before the half&nbsp;<\/li><li>The Jimmies shot 50% from the field and 54% from behind the arch in the second and going into the half with a leading by 10 points 46-36&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>In the third the Jimmies were in full command and pulled out toa 20 point lead by a three pointer by&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/jessika-lofstrom\/18290\">Jessika Lofstrom<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;with 6:07 left in the quarter&nbsp;<\/li><li>In the fourth quarter&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/kate-cordes\/18282\">Kate Cordes<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;capped of a career night with a three pointer to etch herself in the history books with 34 points and extend the Jimmies to their largest lead of the game of 21 points with 7:17 remaining left to play&nbsp;<\/li><li>The Jimmies were in full control all the way to end and winning the game and advancing to the next round with a final score of 90-74&nbsp;<\/li><li>The Jimmies had two players in double digits&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/kate-cordes\/18282\">Kate Cordes<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;led Jamestown with a career high 34 points and six assists and&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/megan-oswald\/18293\">Megan Oswald<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;had 11 points&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/jessika-lofstrom\/18290\">Jessika Lofstrom<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;led the Jimmies with nine rebounds&nbsp;<\/li><li><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/womens-basketball\/roster\/samantha-paulsen\/18294\">Samantha Paulsen<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;had a team high of three steals<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>UP NEXT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Jimmies are on the road for round two of the NSAA conference tournament against Mayville State University Saturday March 1, 2025 at the Lewy Lee Fieldhouse in Mayville, N.D at 11:00 a.m.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown -The University of Jamestown women&#8217;s basketball team kicked off the conference tournament in style, securing an impressive victory against Dickinson State University at the Harold Newman Arena and finishing with a resounding score of 90-74.&nbsp;
