University and split a doubleheader against the Comets at Sanford Sports Complex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>THE BASICS<\/strong><br><strong>SCORES:&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;Jamestown 3-19, Mayville State 5-7<br><strong>LOCATION:<\/strong>&nbsp;Sanford Sports Complex \/ Sioux Falls, S.D.<br><strong>RECORDS:<\/strong>&nbsp;Jamestown 23-9 overall, 4-2 NSAA; Mayville State 10-16, 2-4 NSAA<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>GAME ONE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Comets scored single runs in both the first and second innings to take a 2-0 lead.<\/li><li>In the bottom of the fifth, the Jimmies got on the board, thanks to an RBI double by&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/baseball\/roster\/ryan-muizelaar\/17383\">Ryan Muizelaar<\/a><\/dfn>.<\/li><li>Mayville State extended their lead to 5-1 with three runs in the top of the sixth.<\/li><li>Pinch-hitter&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/baseball\/roster\/will-bachman\/17356\">Will Bachman<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;drove in a pair of runs with a double in the bottom of the sixth as Jamestown got within 5-3.<\/li><li>Neither team scored in the final inning as the Comets took game one 5-3.<\/li><li>In addition to the doubles by Muizelaar and Bachman,&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/baseball\/roster\/chase-burke\/17359\">Chase Burke<\/a><\/dfn>,&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/baseball\/roster\/alex-alva\/17355\">Alex Alva<\/a><\/dfn>, and&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/baseball\/roster\/landon-runge\/17395\">Landon Runge<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;each had a hit.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>GAME TWO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/baseball\/roster\/triston-madison\/17378\">Triston Madison<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;singled home two runs and later scored on a wild pitch as UJ took a 3-0 lead after the first.<\/li><li>After the Comets cut the lead to 3-1 in the top of the second, the Jimmies responded with nine runs in the bottom half to break the game open.<\/li><li>The lead grew to 17-1 as Jamestown scored five more in the third, then added single runs in the fourth and fifth innings.<\/li><li>Mayville State scored six of their seven runs and had six of their eight hits in the game in the fifth inning, but got no closer than 18-7.<\/li><li>Madison doubled twice and finished 4-for-5 with four RBI and four runs scored, while&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/baseball\/roster\/ryan-muizelaar\/17383\">Ryan Muizelaar<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;was 4-for-5 with three doubles, three RBI and two runs scored.<\/li><li><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/baseball\/roster\/chase-burke\/17359\">Chase Burke<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;homered and added two more hits while scoring three runs and driving in three more.<\/li><li><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/baseball\/roster\/alex-alva\/17355\">Alex Alva<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;also recorded three hits, including a triple.<\/li><li><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/baseball\/roster\/isaiah-roebuck\/17393\">Isaiah Roebuck<\/a><\/dfn>,&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/baseball\/roster\/landon-runge\/17395\">Landon Runge<\/a><\/dfn>, and&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/baseball\/roster\/riki-okamoto\/17387\">Riki Okamoto<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;all had two hits.<\/li><li><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/baseball\/roster\/luke-zimmer\/17412\">Luke Zimmer<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;improved to 4-3 overall after working five innings and striking out four.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>UP NEXT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Jimmies and Comets will meet again in Sioux Falls in a doubleheader on Monday with first pitch set for 2 p.m.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SIOUX FALLS &#8211; The Jimmie baseball team scored 19 runs on 21 hits in Sunday&#8217;s second game against Mayville State (N.D.)
