AZUSA, Calif. \u2013\u00a0The North Dakota State women’s track & field team opened competition at a pair of meets in southern California on Thursday.

At the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific University,\u00a0Reagan Baesler<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0set a new 5,000m personal-best of 16:22.16 to rank fifth in NDSU history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bison freshman\u00a0Jenna DeBates<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0posted a 10-second PR in the 5,000m, running 16:53.98 to rank 12th-fastest in school history. Fellow freshman\u00a0Mia Hoffmann<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0added a personal-best 16:55.38.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Freshmen\u00a0Jaelyn Miller<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0(2:11.57) and\u00a0Reagan Berg<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0(2:11.73) both ran personal-bests in the 800m at the Bryan Clay Invitational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Pacific Coast Invitational hosted by Long Beach State, freshman\u00a0Nyariek Kur<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0cleared 5-07.75 (1.72m) in the high jump for a new personal-best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kur also took second in the triple jump, leaping 41-01.50 (12.53m). Sophomore\u00a0Joy Nnantah<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0placed third with a mark of 40-02.75 (12.26m) \u2013 the second-best jump of her career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grace VanErp<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0posted a triple jump personal-best of 39-09.75 (12.13m) at Long Beach State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adison Kapitzke<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0threw an outdoor shot put personal-best of 50-00.75 (15.26m) to tie for 11th-best in NDSU history. She also registered a personal-best 184-9 (56.33m) in the hammer throw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senior\u00a0Grace Emineth<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0placed fourth in the long jump with a mark of 20-03.50 (6.18m), and\u00a0Ella Gardner<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0was fifth at 19-06.00 (5.94m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NDSU sophomore\u00a0Reese Rogowski<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0took seventh in the 400m dash at Long Beach State with a time of 56.09.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kaci Cooper<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0(1:01.58) and\u00a0Kendal Stingle<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0(PR 1:01.92) placed ninth and 10th in the 400m hurdles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anika Larson<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0ran 11.89 in the 100m dash for 10th place.<\/p>\n\n\n

The North Dakota State men’s track & field team opened competition at a pair of meets in southern California on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0At the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific University, NDSU senior\u00a0Hunter Klimek<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0ran a personal-best 14:13.66 in the 5,000m to move up to fourth in NDSU history. He trimmed 13 seconds off his previous best in the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0Bison senior\u00a0Tyson Mahar<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0ran a personal-best 14:32.50 in the 5,000m at the Bryan Clay Invitational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0At the Pacific Coast Invitational hosted by Long Beach State,\u00a0Sam Roller<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0took second in the javelin with a throw of 212-1 (64.65m) \u2013 the second-best mark of his career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0Redshirt freshman\u00a0Brooks Turner<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0took fourth place in the 110m hurdles at the Pacific Coast Invitational, clocking 13.95.\u00a0Brock Johnsen<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0ran 14.15 for the second-fastest time of his career, and\u00a0Zach McGlynn<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0posted a new personal-best of 14.56.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0Zack Ramos<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0threw a season-best 58-03.00 (17.75m) in the shot put for fifth place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0Adam Dugger<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0(48-9 \/ 14.86m) and\u00a0Carlton Mukurazita<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0(48-6 \/ 14.78m) finished fourth and fifth in the triple jump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Competition will continue in Long Beach and Azusa on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
