LAS VEGAS, Nev. \u2013 North Dakota State wrestling’s\u00a0Shilo Jones<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0won the U20 Greco-Roman 130 kg championship at this past weekend’s 2025 CLAW U.S. Open Championships held in Las Vegas. Three other Bison also reached the podium to highlight the weekend for NDSU.

Jones, who redshirted for the Bison at heavyweight this season, went 3-0 in the Greco-Roman division, outscoring opponents 23-4, beginning with a pair of tech fall wins before a 6-4 decision over Torin Forsyth in the final to claim the national title.

Two other Bison freshman earned podium honors, as\u00a0Ezekiel Witt<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0and\u00a0Kody Tanimoto<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0both placed in the U20 Greco-Roman 55 kg division. Witt reached the semis with three straight tech fall wins, outscoring opponents 31-4, before falling to Caleb Noble 7-6. Tanimoto overcame a quarterfinal loss and worked through wrestlebacks to then meet Witt in the consolation semis.

Witt defeated Tanimoto 6-0 to reach the third-place match, where he defeated Jackson Heslin 16-13 to take the bronze medal. Tanimoto rebounded from the loss against Witt, topping Saxton Scott by tech fall to take fifth overall. Witt finished 5-1, while Tanimoto was 4-2.

Senior\u00a0Clay Radenz<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0rounded out the podium finishes for the Bison, as he took eighth overall in Senior Greco-Roman 72 kg. Radenz overcame a second-round loss with three-straight wins on the backside to reach the placing rounds. Radenz finished 4-3 overall.

Tyler Secoy<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0was the only other Bison to wrestle in Greco-Roman, reaching the quarterfinals with two shutout tech fall wins before the freshman suffered two losses that saw him finish one match shy of the podium. Secoy finished 2-2 overall in Greco. Secoy then went 4-2 in U20 Freestyle 74 kg later on in the week.

Redshirt freshman\u00a0Boeden Greenley<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0also fell one win shy of the podium in U20 Freestyle 74 kg. Greenley recorded four-straight tech fall wins, outscoring the opposition 50-8 to reach the quarterfinals, but two straight losses kept him off of the podium.

Freshman\u00a0Michael Olson<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0also picked up a handful of wins, wresting in U20 Freestyle at 65 kg. Olson started with two tech falls and then added a 9-2 win and another tech fall before being eliminated with a 4-2 record in the event.

Witt finished at 2-2 in his U20 Freestyle 57 kg competition and\u00a0Drew Blackburn-Forst<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0was also 2-2 in the Senior Freestyle 125 kg competition. Jones, Tanimoto and\u00a0Tayshaun Glover<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0each went 1-2 in their U20 Freestyle competitions at 125 kg, 57 kg and 86 kg, respectively.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
