Wichita KS (University of Jamestown) – The University of Jamestown men’s soccer team fell 4-1 to Newman University on Monday afternoon at Wilkins Field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jets took control early, scoring three times in the opening half. Cameron Schroder<\/strong> opened the scoring in the 21st minute, followed by goals from Gabriel Dias Juliani<\/strong> in the 28th and Tomas Melon<\/strong> in the 42nd to put Newman ahead 3-0 at the break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newman added a fourth in the 81st minute through Gio Orozco<\/strong>. The Jimmies continued to battle and were rewarded late when Freddie Tomkinson<\/a><\/dfn><\/strong> found the back of the net in the 89th minute, his first goal of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jamestown recorded seven total shots, with Tomkinson<\/strong> registering the lone shot on goal. Valon Ismaili<\/a><\/dfn><\/strong> finished with six saves while facing 22 shots from the Jets’ attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
