The warmer than average stretch of weather has provided great opportunities to get some fall \u201cchores\u201d completed.\u00a0 While chores are important, insert a little recreation time for you and your family, you deserve it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week, October 6-10 is designated \u201cSchool Safety Week\u201d in the VCPS System.\u00a0 The VCPS Staff, Barnes County Emergency Manager, Ambulance Service, Valley City Police and Fire Departments will be partnering to share safety and security skills with all.\u00a0 Thank you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A number of deaths and injuries to bikers and pedestrians have occurred in our area recently.\u00a0 Please, drivers be free of distractions, walkers FACE traffic and bikers obey \u201crules of the road\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0 Important, bikers and walkers, wear \u201cHi-Viz\u201d CLOTHING when riding or walking on streets!\u00a0 Everyone, please be a little extra cautious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Valley City, we very fortune to be a Public Power Community so we\u2019re inviting you to join us in celebrating Public Power Week, October 6-12.\u00a0 It\u2019s a time to be grateful for our community owned, clean, adequate and affordable power which lead to positive impacts on our daily lives.\u00a0 Thanks to our Electrical Department as our power has been \u201con\u201d 99.9921% of the time this year!\u00a0 Great job everybody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Missouri River Energy Services (MRES) has maintained Moody\u2019s\u00a0 Aa2 Bond Rating along with Fitch\u2019s AA- Bond Rating.\u00a0 Both agencies also assigned a Stable Outlook to the anticipated 2025 Series A Power Supply Revenue Refunding Bonds.\u00a0 The good ratings help ensure we users can enjoy favorable bond interest rates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the Sports Illustrated list of North Dakota\u2019s 50 most noted athletes is Sheri Kleinsasser of Carrington.\u00a0 Sheri ended her career (1992 – 1995) at the University of North Dakota as its all time leading scorer with 1,941 points.\u00a0 Her brother Jim is also on the list \u2026.. a pretty talented family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
