Moorhead MN (University of Jamestown) – The University of Jamestown women’s soccer team came up short in a 2-1 loss to MSU Moorhead Sunday afternoon at Nemzek Soccer Field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MSU Moorhead opened the scoring in the 9th minute with a goal from Brooklyn Broderick<\/strong>, assisted by Madison Sharp<\/strong>, to take a 1-0 lead. Goalkeeper Skylar Lind<\/a><\/dfn><\/strong> kept the Jimmies within reach, making six first-half saves to send Jamestown into the break down by one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jimmies equalized in the 59th minute when Bailey Fox<\/a><\/dfn><\/strong> found the back of the net, finishing off a pass from Nellie Brown<\/a><\/dfn><\/strong> to make it 1-1. The goal marked Fox’s first of the season and Brown’s first assist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dragons regained the lead in the 70th minute as Lilly Johnson<\/strong> scored off an assist from Madalynn Hopkins<\/strong>, securing the 2-1 win for MSU Moorhead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lind<\/strong> finished with 12 saves for Jamestown, while Haley Nelson<\/a><\/dfn><\/strong> led the Jimmies with four shots. Jamestown recorded 14 total shots and earned five corner kicks in the match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
