After a 21-dig performance tonight, Richter improves her career total to 1,965 with 504 to this point this season. She passes Shelley Cockerill, who previously held the record with 1,958 career digs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With their victory over RMC, the VCSU Vikings improve their record to 10-13 overall and 8-10 in Frontier Conference games. The Battlin&#8217; Bears fall to 2-21 overall and 1-17 in Frontier Conference games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Vikings opened the first set, taking a 3-0 lead with a kill by&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/vcsuvikings.com\/sports\/volleyball\/roster\/danielle-hagler\/4889\">Danielle Hagler<\/a><\/dfn>,&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/vcsuvikings.com\/sports\/volleyball\/roster\/macy-fridgen\/4888\">Macy Fridgen<\/a><\/dfn>, and a block by Hagler and&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/vcsuvikings.com\/sports\/volleyball\/roster\/emma-lucas\/4892\">Emma Lucas<\/a><\/dfn>. They steadily grew that lead as they took 2-3 points for each rocky point. With a score of 10-4, Rocky took their first timeout. With their foot on the gas, the Vikings found themselves with a 14-7 lead, where they would go on a 10-0 run, closing the set at 25-7 on Richter&#8217;s serve. The run started with a kill by Hagler, followed by two aces from Richter. The Vikings rallied on with kills by Lucas, Fridgen,&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/vcsuvikings.com\/sports\/volleyball\/roster\/madden-bogenreif\/4901\">Madden Bogenreif<\/a><\/dfn>, and two more aces from Richter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Battlin&#8217; Bear started the first set firing on all cylinders, taking an early 5-1 lead. The Vikings showed great patience in their comeback efforts as they crept back into the set, eventually tying it at 16-16 thanks to a kill by&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/vcsuvikings.com\/sports\/volleyball\/roster\/rosie-anderson\/4884\">Rosie Anderson<\/a><\/dfn>. The Vikings would score seven straight, taking a 21-16 lead with Hagler and&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/vcsuvikings.com\/sports\/volleyball\/roster\/ellie-lucas\/4891\">Ellie Lucas<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;earning a pair of kills passed by&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/vcsuvikings.com\/sports\/volleyball\/roster\/gracie-schumacher\/4894\">Gracie Schumacher<\/a><\/dfn>. VCSU would later close the second set 25-19 after an attacking error on Rocky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>VCSU started the second set on an 11-1 run, scoring 10 straight points during Delani Clark&#8217;s service.&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/vcsuvikings.com\/sports\/volleyball\/roster\/morgan-freije\/4887\">Morgan Freije<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;had two solo blocks and two assisted blocks, with Fridgen adding a few kills. In the middle of the set, the Vikings continued to score two points to every Rocky one, leading them to a 19-7 lead. Fridgen started a rally of two kills that led the Vikings to a six-point run, taking a 25-7 win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Vikings were led by Fridgen scoring 14 kills. Emma Lucus trialed with nine.&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/vcsuvikings.com\/sports\/volleyball\/roster\/jaycee-richter\/4893\">JayCee Richter<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;closed the night with an impressive five aces as well as 21 digs that propelled her into the number one all-time in career digs among Vikings Volleyball players. Freije stood tall with six total blocks on the evening.
