Nampa ID (UJ) – The University of Jamestown men’s soccer team wrapped up its 2025 season with a hard-fought 6\u20133 road loss to Northwest Nazarene University on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at NNU Soccer Field in Nampa, Idaho. Despite the result, the Jimmies showed determination and quality moments in attack while continuing to create strong scoring opportunities throughout the match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Northwest Nazarene opened the scoring midway through the first half, striking twice in quick succession as Rylan McPherson<\/strong> and Baraka Dayi<\/strong> each found the net in the 17th minute. The Nighthawks added a third goal in the 26th minute through Derek Johnson<\/strong> before Jamestown answered back. In the 35th minute, Kael Calder<\/a><\/dfn><\/strong> capitalized off an assist from Tom Nicholls<\/a><\/dfn><\/strong> to cut the deficit to 3\u20131 and give the Jimmies momentum. However, NNU responded with two more goals before halftime from Alejandro Morales<\/strong> and McPherson, sending Jamestown into the break trailing 5\u20131.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jimmies came out with renewed energy in the second half, with Jake Simson<\/a><\/dfn><\/strong> scoring just three minutes after the restart to make it 5\u20132. Jamestown continued to apply attacking pressure, while goalkeeper Valon Ismaili<\/a><\/dfn><\/strong> made several key stops to limit further damage against a relentless NNU offense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Northwest Nazarene extended its lead in the 73rd minute with Dayi’s<\/strong> second goal of the match, but Jamestown continued to battle. In the 87th minute, Greg Semsarian<\/a><\/dfn><\/strong> connected off an assist from Simson to secure Jamestown’s third goal and close the scoring at 6\u20133.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ismaili finished with five saves while facing 22 shots, anchoring a defensive unit that held firm in the second half. The Jimmies recorded 12 shots overall, seven on target, with contributions across the pitch from Felipe Costa<\/a><\/dfn><\/strong>, Justin Junaid<\/a><\/dfn><\/strong>, and Conner Warren<\/a><\/dfn><\/strong> to round out the team’s final performance of the season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
