Fremont NE (UJ) – Goaltender\u00a0Lilah Drew<\/a><\/dfn>\u00a0made a season-high 46 saves and the University of Jamestown ACHA Division 1 women’s hockey team battled top-ranked Midland University to a 1-1 overtime tie Saturday evening at Sidner Ice Arena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a scoreless first period, the Warriors got on the board at 15:03 of the second on an unassisted goal by Callie Maguire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jamestown found the equalizer early in the third period. While on the penalty kill, Paige Zimiga<\/a><\/dfn> scored her first goal as a Jimmie, an unassisted, short-handed tally at the 4:33 mark to tie the game 1-1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neither team could find the net in the final minutes of regulation or the five-minute overtime period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drew and the Jimmie defense held off a relentless Midland attack, which outshot Jamestown 47-21 in the game. UJ successfully killed off five Warrior power play chances, including a brief 5-on-3 opportunity just under five and a half minutes into the third period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jamestown returns home for a weekend series against Minot State beginning Friday, November 14 at 7 p.m.
