Congratulations to the Valley City High School Volleyball Team on its runner-up finish in the North Dakota High School Activities State Tournament.\u00a0 Achievements like these \u201cTake a Village\u201d, players, coaches, administration and fans have all contributed in some way to the season\u2019s success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanksgiving originated with a harvest celebration in 1621 with the\u00a0Wampanoag<\/a>\u00a0people and English settlers in Plymouth, Massachusetts.\u00a0 Thanksgiving today is one of sharing gratitude, feasting, and spending time with family. \u00a0\u201cI come from a family where gravy is considered a beverage.\u201d ~ Erma Bombeck<\/em>.\u00a0 Blessings to all.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday will be \u201cChristmas in the Valley\u201d with activities downtown beginning at noon.\u00a0 The day will be capped at 6:00 by the Holiday Light Parade followed by the Tree Lighting Ceremony in Valley City\u2019s Veterans Park.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Valley City Barnes County Development Corporation (VCBCDC) enjoyed very good attendance for its annual meeting at Sabir\u2019s.\u00a0 A nice lunch, introductions of board members, a panel discussion were all parts of the informative program.\u00a0 The VCBCDC is continually identifying opportunities to aid businesses, ease costs for home building etc. in Valley City and throughout Barnes County.\u00a0 Thank you all for serving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Barnes County Salvation Army \u201cRed Kettle Campaign\u201d is underway.\u00a0 Funds from the campaign aid people in \u201cbridging the gap\u201d from hard times to being self sufficient.\u00a0 To participate by \u201cringing the bell\u201d, please call Lenora at 701-840-1357 or Naomi at 701-541-1418.\u00a0 Thank you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DO NOT throw pumpkins or other gourds in the garbage as they are very heavy increase costs, please put them in the 24-7 Grass Site.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
