Boston MA (UND) – North Dakotas distance squad competed at a pair of meets in Boston on Saturday and came away with a pair of school records, a Canadian U23 record and seven improvements to the UND top-10 lists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, Jadyn Keeler<\/a><\/dfn> placed eighth in the invitational 5,000 meters with a personal-best time of 15:14.76. She shattered her previous record time of 15:28.29, which she set at the 2024 David Hemery Valentine Invitational. Keeler’s record time in the 5,000 meters currently ranks No. 22 all-time in NCAA indoor track history. It also bettered the Canadian U23 record time of 15:17.47, which was previously set by Chloe Thomas of Connecticut last season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Towards the end of the meet, the men’s distance team provided fireworks in the 5,000 meters. First, Matej Hrebacka<\/a><\/dfn> broke the school record in his heat with a personal-best time of 14:00.86. He broke the previous record time of 14:08.71, set by Luke Labatte at the 2023 Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener. One heat later, Louis-Lys Fanucchi<\/a><\/dfn> took the track and broke Hrebacka’s record with a time of 13:58.81.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ethan Adams<\/a><\/dfn> also ran in the 5,000 meters and added his name to the UND top-10 list with a time of 14:30.04. That time ties him for No. 5 in school history in the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the women’s 5,000 meters, Frida Giersdorff<\/a><\/dfn> and Gabrielle Wahl<\/a><\/dfn> also added their names to the UND top-10 list. Giersdorff clocked a time of 16:53.30, good for the No. 7 time in program history. Wahl posted a time of 17:02.75 and is now No. 8 in school history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aleksa Milanovic<\/a><\/dfn> entered his name on the UND top-10 list in the 3,000 meters and ran the No. 4 time in school history with a PR of 8:18.00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Towards the beginning of the meet, Lennart Lindstrot<\/a><\/dfn> came less than 0.67 seconds away from improving his No. 5 mile time in school history and ran a time of 4:10.06.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paris Hoverson<\/a><\/dfn> was the top Hawk at the Early Bird at the TRACK at new balance meet and was 15th in the 5,000 meters in 18:07.23. It was the first collegiate indoor 5,000 meters of her career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

North Dakota will visit Fargo on Thursday for the Dakota Alumni Classic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

POST-MEET NOTES<\/strong>
* UND earned two new school records and posted seven upgrades to the UND top-10 lists while competing at a pair of meets in Boston on Saturday.
* Jadyn Keeler<\/a><\/dfn> was the first Hawk to break a school record this season and ran a PR of 15:14.76 in the invitational 5,000 meters at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener. She shattered her previous record time of 15:28.29, which she set at the 2024 David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
* Keeler’s record time in the 5,000 meters currently sits No. 22 all-time in the NCAA for the event during an indoor season. It also bettered the Canadian U23 record time of 15:17.47, which was previously set by Chole Thomas of Connecticut last season.
* There was a double record in the men’s 5,000 meters. Matej Hrebacka<\/a><\/dfn> set a new school record in his heat with a PR of 14:00.86. One heat later, Louis-Lys Fanucchi<\/a><\/dfn> took the track and broke Hrebacka’s record with a time of 13:58.81. It was the opposite of what happened last outdoor season, when Fanucchi improved his record (3:45.61) in the 1,500 meters in Azusa and Hrebacka broke it less than 20 minutes later with a PR of 3:45.34.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
