Georgia Manstrom, 77, of Valley City, ND passed away on December 24, at the Legacy Place in Valley City, ND, after a brief battle with stage 4 lung cancer.  Georgia was born in Valley City, ND on March 30, 1948, to Howard and Arlene Bemis.  She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior\u2019s Lutheran Church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She graduated from Valley City High School in 1966.  She was united in marriage to James Manstrom on July 6, 1968, and together they were blessed with two daughters.  She enjoyed being a homemaker and being able to stay at home when her daughters were young.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She had many talents that included playing the piano, being a skilled crafter and a beautiful seamstress. Georgia was co-owner of Bettin\u2019s Flower Shop for several years. She opened Cotton Patch Treasures, a local quilt store where customers enjoyed afternoon coffee hour, friendship, and laughter. She continued to manage the quilt store which became The Quilted Ceiling until it closed in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her family was most important to her.  She dearly loved her grandchildren and attending all their activities throughout the years.  The highlight for her in the last year was the birth of her two great-granddaughters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is survived by her daughters, Andrea (Mark) Winter, of Valley City and Melissa (Lyle) Mee, of Jamestown; 5 grandchildren, Brenna (Collin) Schroeder, Ellie (Alex) Fodness, Trevor Winter, Dawson Mee and Avery Mee; 2 great-grandchildren: Campbell Fodness and Romy Schroeder.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A special thank you to the staff at The Legacy Place and CHI Home Care and Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.  Memorials are suggested to The Barnes County Historical Society Museum and CHI Home Care and Hospice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
