Jamestown ND (Valley News Live) – Authorities in Jamestown have released new details regarding the human fetus remains discovered last November, concluding that the fetus was stillborn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jamestown Police Department, in coordination with the Stutsman County Coroner and the North Dakota state forensic medical examiner\u2019s office, announced the findings of the post-mortem examination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The medical examiner\u2019s report determined the cause of death for the male fetus was Intrauterine Fetal Demise, a stillbirth associated with a double nuchal cord. The fetus was estimated to be approximately 34 weeks gestational age. No evidence of inflicted antemortem trauma or injury was found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The remains were found encased in a glass jar containing preservative fluid. Investigators believe the glass jar was manufactured sometime between the 1920s and 1960s, most likely between the 1930s and 1940s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on these findings, the criminal investigation into the incident has been suspended. However, police stated it remains unknown why the male fetus was placed in a jar with preservation fluid at that specific location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The remains were initially discovered on Nov. 4, 2025, by a construction company working on a project in southeast Jamestown.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
