Tucson AZ (VCSU) – Valley City State wrapped up their trip to Tucson, Arizona with a 7-1 loss to (RV) Indiana Tech on Thursday. The Vikings ended their nine-game trip with a 3-6 record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Valley City State is now 10-11 on the season. Indiana Tech, who beat Mayville State earlier in the day 3-2, is now 14-8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Vikings scored in the top of first when Pascale Kihn<\/a><\/dfn> hit a sinking line drive to right that got by the right fielder and Kihn circled the bases for an inside-the-park home run to give the Vikings a 1-0 lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Warriors tied it in the bottom second when a run scored on a wild pitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the third, Indiana Tech scored three runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead. Carlye Walter drove in two with a single. Then scored on Alyssa Harvey’s single to make it 4-1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two more runs came across for Tech in the bottom of the fourth on RBI singles by Alyssa Fox, Haylee Pruitt 6to make it 6-1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mikayla Pruitt’s RBI single in the bottom of the fifth capped the scoring with the Warriors on top 7-1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pascale Kihn<\/a><\/dfn> had three of the Vikings four hits by going 3 for 3 with the home run. Ahleeya Nicola<\/a><\/dfn> had the other hit. She was 1 for 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
