Susan Larson, 76, Valley City, ND passed away at her home on June 13, 2026. Visitation will be in the Traditions Funeral Services Lerud Mathias Funeral Home Chapel (515 N Central Ave), Valley City on Tuesday, June 16 from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a prayer service will beginning at 7:00. A celebration of Susan\u2019s life will be held at Epworth United Methodist Church, Valley City, on Wednesday, June 17 at 11:00 AM. The service will be live streamed, then archived, on a link provided along with her obituary on her tribute page at www.lerudmathias.com. An online guestbook is available there as well. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Epworth United Methodist Church or The United Women of Faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Susan Diane Rambough born June 6, 1950, to Clell and Elma Rambough in Bismarck, ND. Her dad flew her mom and her home to Braddock from the hospital in his plane. She grew up in Braddock, ND with her brother Stanton, and two sisters Janice and Beverly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She graduated from Braddock High School in 1968. Attended Bismarck Junior College for 2 years graduating with an Associate Degree; went on to attended Valley City State University graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education; and then on to Moorhead State for a Special Education credential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1972, she married Douglas Senne at the United Methodist Church in Braddock, North Dakota. They made their home in Valley City, North Dakota. Three children joined this union, Sherri Jean, Charles Allen, and Qui Le.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Susan began teaching at Jefferson Elementary in Valley City in the Fall of 1974 and retired after 31 years in 2005. She married Bruce Larson on December 23, 1988. They continued living in Valley City until 2002 and moved to Lisbon, North Dakota. Granddaughter Lida Le came to live with them, and they raised her for the next 8 years. In 2019, they moved back to Valley City to be closer to family and friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Susan was kind, loyal, warm, and growing up she was her dad\u2019s hired hand. Family was especially important to her; she loved all family gatherings and made her children and grandchildren her world. She liked to have a plan and see that plan executed. She was a sensitive soul and if she made you part of her family, you were family for life. Susan will be remembered for her laugh and her ability to back up any trailer with ease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Susan was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was an active member of Epworth United Methodist Church where she has served on many Administrative Committees, taught Sunday School and a member of United Methodist Women receiving Jewel of a Woman in 2024. She also served on the Social Services board while living in Lisbon. Received Teacher of the Year award in 1989 from ARC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Susan is survived by her husband, Bruce; daughter Sherri (Justin) Horsager, grandsons Jaxon and Jett; son Charles (Jen) Senne, grandchildren Adienne, Harper, Cohen, and Marley; son Qui Le (Oanh Bui), grandchildren Tony (Allison) Le, great granddaughter Vera; Lisa (Rob) Lesser, great grandsons Gunnar and Hunter; granddaughter Lida (Keanan) Pikarski; brother Stanton Rambough; sisters Janice (George) McCarthy and Beverly (Don) Enger; mother-in-law Beverly Larson; sister-in-law Jayne (Blaine) Ekre; brother-in-Law Todd (Cheryl) Larson, and many nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preceded in death by her parents Clell and Elma Rambough; father-in law Donn Larson; sister-in-law Myra Rambough; and nephew Mason Enger.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
