Brandon was born September 20, 1992, in Jamestown, ND, to Jodi Whitmore (Knudson) and Shawn Erickson. At the age of two, Brandon proudly and protectively took on the role of a loving big brother to Miranda.

Brandon graduated from Valley City High School in the class of 2011. He worked many years for Kasowski Tire and Service “KTS” in Buffalo, ND where he became part of the KTS family. He was hard working, full of spirit and dedication to not only the job but his coworkers.

Brandon was an active member of the Buffalo Wildlife Club and spent much of his free time hunting (Especially the hunting trips out west), fishing, boating, and simply being out at the lake with family and friends.

Brandon took immense pride in the title of Uncle and showed his goofy side with his nieces and nephew. He also enjoyed playing pool, going to concerts, watching; movies, football (GO PACK GO), NASCAR, and UFC/MMA. Above all, Brandon would never turn down a good large homecooked meal shared in the company of his family and friends.

In Brandons’ brief time here, he left behind a lifetime of memories and a piece of himself in the hearts of everyone that knew and loved him. He was a man that found joy in the simple things in life. Hand him a rifle, a fishing pole, a cold Bud, and he was happy. He did not need much to make a good day great. Brandon always had a smile on his face, and his laugh was impossible not to love. It was contagious- the kind of laugh that could fill a room and make everyone around him smile. His presence had a way of bringing light wherever he went. He was genuine, easygoing, full of life, and always seemed to never sugar coat it and give it to you straight. All the moments spent with him were not ordinary, because they were moments shared with him.

Brandon is survived by his mother, Jodi (Knudson) Whitmore and stepfather, Kim Whitmore; his father, Shawn Erickson; his sister, Miranda Erickson, and her partner, Cody Anderson; his nieces, Ivory Erickson and Hunter Briones; and his nephew, Colton Anderson. Brandon is also survived by his stepfather, Matt (Carol) Olauson and their children, Kieten Suhr, Lynx Olauson, and Rhett Olauson; grandparents, Cindy Knudson, Jerry Knudson; and step grandmother, Linda Olauson. Along with extended family including aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Brandon was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roger and Ramona Erickson; aunt, Mindy Erickson; and step grandfather, Bob Olauson.

Brandon’s smile will live on in our memories. His laugh will forever echo in our hearts. Every time we gather at the lake, cast a line, head out hunting, or raise an ice-cold Budweiser, we will think of him and smile through the tears as we are grateful for every moment we were blessed to have with him. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten!

A memorial service for Brandon will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, September 18th at Faith Lutheran Church in Valley City. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church on Friday afternoon. Inurnment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City. An online guestbook and livestream of Brandon’s service will be available at www.lerudmathias.com. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Traditions Funeral Services of Valley City.

Brandon Luke Erickson, 33, of Tower City, ND formerly of Valley City, ND, passed away unexpectedly on September 9, 2026, at his home.
