News Oct 24, 2013) \u2014 The Valley City Police Department look for help from the public as they look for a group of people accused of breaking into a man\u2019s home, on October 18, 2013.<\/p>\n Reported stolen was a television and computer.<\/p>\n Valley City Police received the call just before 9:30 p.m. on October, about the break in.<\/p>\n Philip Chirchir, said he was at home watching television when someone knocked on the door, and did not recognize the five black males and one female outside the door.<\/p>\n When he refused them entrance to the home, he says, one of the men displayed a black handgun and banged on the door breaking in the door.<\/p>\n The homeowner call 9-1-1 from the bathroom.<\/p>\n He heard the suspects leave the home and discovered the items that were missing.<\/p>\n He says he saw the suspects leaving in a small, four door, sedan that was metallic silver.<\/p>\n The Valley City Police Department continues to investigate, if you know anything about this crime please contact them at 701-845-3110.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Jamestown, ND\u00a0 (KCSi-T.V. News Oct 24, 2013)\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A 31 year-old man, stabbed late Tuesday night\u00a0at the Hitchin\u2019 Post in Jamestown was\u00a0 released from a Fargo Hospital late Wednesday afternoon.\u00a0<\/p>\n He was air flighted to a Fargo hospital after the Tuesday night incident.\u00a0\u00a0As the investigation continues, his name is not being released.\u00a0<\/p>\n Previously\u2026<\/p>\n Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) \u2013 The Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office is investigating a fight between two men Tuesday evening (Oct. 22, 2013) that led to a stabbing of one of the men at the Hitchin\u2019 Post Bar.<\/p>\n As a result of the altercation a 31 year-old man was air flighted a Fargo hospital for treatment a stab wound.<\/p>\n Stutsman County Sheriff Chad Kaiser, says the two men got into a fight at about 11:30 p.m., at the Hitchin\u2019 Post in Jamestown.<\/p>\n During the altercation, the man was allegedly stabbed with the other man\u2019s personal knife. No names have been released, and the incident remains under investigation by the Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Valley City, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Oct 24, 2013) — Valley City Police report, a Grand Forks man was arrested, accused of vandalizing a restroom inside Jimmy\u2019s Pizza Tuesday night about 6p.m.<\/p>\n Police Chief Fred Thompson says officers arrested 32-year-old Jon Henry Lightning a short time later at the VFW Club for carrying a concealed weapon and criminal mischief.<\/p>\n Police removed two swords and a dagger that Lightning allegedly hid under his clothing.<\/p>\n Thompson says at least one of the bladed swords was used to poke a hole in the sheetrock and to slice other parts of the wall.<\/p>\n He says the incident remains under investigation.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Oct 25, 2013) \u2014 The Jamestown City Council\u2019s Fire Committee, and Public Works Committee met Thursday evening (Oct 24, 2013) at City Hall.\u00a0 All members were present.<\/p>\n With Fire Committee business:<\/p>\n Discussion related to the roofing project at the main Fire hall. Re-roofing work will take place, and next spring work will occur on eliminating the chimney.\u00a0 Additional downspouts will be installed for drainage.The committee recommends moving forward with installing the downspouts.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The committee recommends approval of revisions to Chapter 15, of the City Code, pertaining to the Fire Protection Code.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Public Works Committee<\/p>\n The committee discussed allowing permanent curbside trash pick-up at\u00a0seven \u00a0locations.\u00a0 City Engineer Reed Schwartzkopf said the proposal is based on slopes and encumbrances in the alleys, creating dangers to workers. Mayor Andersen suggested fixing those problems instead of moving the pick up location. The committee tabled the issue until the next Public Works Committee meeting. In the meantime those residences that could be affected by a change will be notified of the meeting date.<\/p>\n The committee recommends approving the Jamestown Force Main and Gravity Sewer Change Order No. 4, with the Jamestown sanitary sewer project. Darrell Hournbuckle of Interstate Engineering said the change order is due to unexpected discoveries of piping and other items. He said the project is 65 percent completed, and is expected to be finished this fall. He said most of the paving should be completed this fall.<\/p>\n The committee recommends approval of the Jamestown Wastewater & Lift Station Replacement & Force Main Improvements Project Phase I \u2013 Lift Station Replacement change order no. 1.<\/p>\n The committee recommends approving paving of District No. 13-42, in effect \u201call aspects of the project except the final lift of hot bituminous pavement shall be completed by November 1st, 2013. The final lift of hot bituminous pavement shall be completed by June 1st, 2014.\u201d<\/p>\n The committee discussed participating in the NDDOT Strategic Highway Safety Plan, up to a cost of $5,000. The information would be added to the city\u2019s Land Use and Transportation Plan.<\/p>\n A presentation was noted of the NDDOT\u2019s recent Traffic Operations Study near Hwy 52 Bypass.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The information and recommendations of the NDDOT will be given to the City Council for review.<\/p>\n An update and sketches were presented, relating to the Vacation request for Joo\u2019s Addition.\u00a0 Schwartzkopf suggested a traffic study be conducted along with development issues, and considered by the city, before the vacation request is granted.<\/p>\n Discussion then concerned the alley way behind 100 block of 1st Street East, behind U.S. Bank. Schwartzkopf said the north 75 feet of an alley vacated still is a city right of way, and parking issues have ensued, with the three adjacent property owners. He said the alley is primarily a utility conveyance.He said the area at question could contain three parking stalls. He suggested just posting the area as \u201cno parking.\u201d Mayor Andersen has concerns about eliminating any downtown parking spaces. The committee recommends 4-1 to signing no parking, and proper enforcement.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n A presentation was made of\u00a0a \u00a0gray water study from Apex Engineering related to capacity of Waste Treatment facilities for potential future water demands of the city. The facility is used by the Cavendish facility, and in the future by Great River Energy, in addition to municipal waste. The biggest improvement needs were indicated, along with treatment issues that have been positive at the facility over its past 25 years. Recommendations were made, for needed improvements over the next several years.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The committee discussed curbside recycling,\u00a0including where the city presently stands on the issue, and past actions taken regarding recycling, including the present recycler, and studies that were made on curbside. The issue is on the city\u2019s Strategic Plan, along with automated trash collection, in conjunction with curbside recycling, and cost efficiencies.\u00a0<\/p>\n The current strategic plan for Jamestown approved on Aug. 1, 2011, listed \u201cexplore the implementation of curbside recycling\u201d as a 2013 goal.<\/p>\n The Jamestown Recycling Task Force surveyed 1,184 people in Jamestown about recycling. That survey said about 75 percent of residents would be willing to pay fees ranging from $4 to $10 per month for curbside recycling.<\/p>\n Presently about 1,500 tons of garbage goes through the baler and into the landfills in Jamestown each month.<\/p>\n Mayor Andersen said studies need to be made on options available, including the city\u2019s role in recycling.\u00a0<\/p>\n Mayor Andersen said how to move the issue forward, without burdening the city\u2019s staff, is necessary, and whether a consultant is necessary, added to the work the city\u2019s staff has already performed on the issue. Privatization of a recycling program is an option. The Mayor said the city needs to look at the effectiveness of costs relative to service, either under the city or a private firm.<\/p>\n Joan Morris gave a presentation on costs of operating the city landfill, and increases over the past few years.\u00a0<\/p>\n She noted garbage being brought to the Jamestown landfill, by communities outside of Jamestown.<\/p>\n The committee will review additional information on recycling to be obtained by the City Engineer, to discuss at\u00a0the upcoming\u00a0City Council meeting.<\/p>\n \u00a0The meeting was shown live on CSi Cable 67 followed by replays.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. It will happen on Monday, one day before the storm’s anniversary. There’s an immigration museum that showcases the stories of the millions of immigrants who passed through the island to start their lives in the United States. More than a million documents, photos and other artifacts were moved before the storm in order to protect them. They will remain in a temporary storage facility for the time being.

The woman has admitted that she once left a baby behind there. She says if DNA proves she’s the girl’s mother, she’ll take her back. But she denies taking any money for giving up her baby to another Roma, or Gypsy, family years ago.
