CONTINUE TO CHECK BACK FOR FUTURE UPDATES.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) &#8212; Jamestown\u2019s Community Christmas Tree was officially lit for the season, Wednesday evening, at the Jamestown Civic Center, starting with the ceremony at 5:15 \u2013p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The event featured Christmas carols and songs, a history of the tree and a Christmas message by Deacon Tom Geffre, chaplain at Ave Maria Village.<\/p>\n<p>Coffee, hot chocolate and hot cider was served along with cookies, courtesy of the Main Street Downtown Association.<\/p>\n<p>The tree was cut down and moved from the Jeff Schmidtt home located at 2015 \u2013 5<sup>th<\/sup> St. N.E. City Forester Doug Wiles says the tree is 50 feet tall before being placed in the holder in front of the Civic Center. He says the tree weighs 9,800 pounds.<\/p>\n<p>The tree cutting and trimming done by the city street department crew, the moving by Scherbenske and Son and the tree lights and decorations done by the Jamestown Fire Department.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) &#8212; Two men were arrested in connection with an incident that occurred early Saturday (Nov 23, 2013) morning, where a homeowner reported blood on the window of a garage door, which was opened.<\/p>\n<p>Valley City Police Chief Fred Thompson says officers were dispatched by Barnes County Dispatch at 3:43 a.m. to 530 6th Ave. Northwest.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequent to the investigation it was determined that an individual entered the garage and entered a vehicle inside.<\/p>\n<p>The officers were able to track the unknown individual to a house at 546 6th Street Northwest, by following footprints in the snow.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation included physical evidence at the scene, and talking with four Valley City men at the house, which led police to believe that an altercation had occurred between the men.<\/p>\n<p>Further investigations at the house led to two arrests.<\/p>\n<p>20 year old Ring Akol, was arrested for minor in possession, consumption of alcohol.<\/p>\n<p>22 year old Shol Gout, was arrested for disorderly conduct.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Thompson says as the investigation continues, anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Valley City Police at 701-845-3110.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0From Greg Vanney VCSU<br \/>\nMore than 40 Valley City State University students on campus over the Thanksgiving holiday will be treated to a Thanksgiving buffet dinner at Vicky\u2019s Viking Room restaurant in downtown Valley City on Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>According to Kari Stricklin, VCSU director of student activities, the student group includes many out-of-state students and several international students, along with the men\u2019s basketball team, on campus for practice prior to weekend games on the road.<\/p>\n<p>The Thanksgiving meal is sponsored by VCSU\u2019s Viking Campus Activities Board and Inter-Residence Hall Council with support from Vicky\u2019s Viking Room.<\/p>\n<p>Other weekend activities for students on campus include a game night in Kolstoe Residence Hall, along with movies and snacks. (AP) &#8211; Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem says he&#8217;s not worried about a civil rights complaint filed against him by a white supremacist accused of terrorizing a small North Dakota town.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Craig Cobb filed the complaint after Stenehjem told KFGO radio that Cobb and his supporters are &#8220;not the kind of people wanted in North Dakota.&#8221;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Stenehjem says the complaint is &#8220;absurd, just like most of Cobb&#8217;s beliefs are.&#8221;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Cobb bought property in Leith, in southwestern North Dakota, in hopes of attracting more white supremacists there and taking over the town&#8217;s government.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Cobb told The Associated Press he would drop the complaint, sell his Leith house and leave the state if prosecutors drop charges he terrorized residents with guns.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Stenehjem says Cobb will have to answer to the charges.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Authorities are searching for two suspects in a death on the Turtle Mountain Reservation.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The sheriff&#8217;s offices in Rolette and Pierce counties say they&#8217;re not sure whether the suspects are in one vehicle or separate vehicles. Some roads in the region have been blocked off.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 FBI spokesman Kyle Loven (LOH&#8217;-vuhn) confirms that agency, the Bureau of Indian Affairs and local police are investigating a &#8220;suspicious&#8221; death. (AP) &#8211; A physical education teacher from Wachter Middle School in Bismarck pleaded not guilty to charges she had sex with a 15-year-old boy.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Susan Duursma waived her preliminary hearing Wednesday and went to arraignment where the 34-year-old entered her not guilty plea on three counts of felony corruption or solicitation of minors.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Duursma is accused of sex act with a 15-year-old boy three times between March and July, in her home and in a vehicle.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Two days after being charged, the Bismarck School Board voted to suspend Duursma without pay and start the discharge process. The next step is a hearing before an administrative law judge.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Each count carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) &#8211; Dakotas-based Sanford Health is opening a second clinic in the Minnesota city of Alexandria.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sanford says services that will be offered at the new clinic will range from pediatric cardiology to podiatry. (AP) &#8211; A leading state senator says North Dakota should devote more oil tax money to enhancing U.S. Highway 85, the main north-south corridor in the western oil patch.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Senate Majority Leader Rich Wardner, of Dickinson, is an advocate for turning Highway 85 into a four-lane road between Rapid City, S.D., and the Canadian border &#8211; a project dubbed the Theodore Roosevelt Expressway.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Wardner says the proposed project has always been about creating a corridor for commerce. The administration isn&#8217;t going to launch an online insurance marketplace for those companies until next year, so that the focus can be on getting the HealthCare.gov website fully functioning.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) &#8211; The Coast Guard is reporting progress in the cleanup of a fuel spill following the sinking of a towboat in the Mississippi River in eastern Iowa. It says at least 85 percent of the estimated 1,300 gallons of diesel fuel and oil that spilled from the towboat has been removed, and barge traffic has been allowed to resume. A spokesman says a backlog of boats that had built up since the sinking Monday afternoon has cleared. Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the accident.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 DENVER (AP) &#8211; A third Democratic Colorado state senator facing possible recall after voting for gun-control measures says she will resign. Sen. Evie Hudak of Denver&#8217;s western suburbs announced her resignation less than a week before opponents planned to turn in petitions seeking her recall. The resignation means Democrats will be able to appoint an interim successor and keep a one-seat majority in the Senate next session. Two other Democratic senators were ousted from office in September.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 AKRON, Ohio (AP) &#8211; A lawyer for the family of a 10-year-old Amish girl with leukemia says the girl and her parents have fled their home in Ohio, so they wouldn&#8217;t be forced to resume her chemotherapy treatments. The lawyer says the family even left the country at one point. A state appeals court appointed a guardian to take over medical decisions for the girl after the parents stopped the chemotherapy treatments. The parents said the effects of the chemo were terrible, and they wanted to try natural medicines instead.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 WASHINGTON (AP) &#8211; An experimental device is letting paralyzed people drive wheelchairs simply by flicking their tongue in the right direction. But they had to get their tongue pierced first &#8212; with a magnetic stud that resembles jewelry. A headset detects the tongue&#8217;s movements, and beams that information to a smartphone &#8212; where an app then tells the wheelchair to move. The system is being developed by a Georgia Tech engineer.
