(AP Sept 5, 2012) &#8211; The U.S. Department of Agriculture has<br \/>\ndeclared an agricultural disaster for some parts of North Dakota<br \/>\ndue to the drought.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Gov. Jack Dalrymple and North Dakota&#8217;s congressional delegation<br \/>\nannounced that Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack notified them of<br \/>\nthe declaration on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The declaration makes farmers and ranchers in 16 counties in the state eligible for federal assistance because of damaged crops.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The counties covered by the declaration are<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> Barnes<\/span>, Benson,<br \/>\nCass, Eddy, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Foster<\/span>, Grand Forks, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Griggs, La Moure<\/span> and Nelson.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Also, Ramsey, Ransom, Richland, Steele, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Stutsman<\/span>, Trail and<br \/>\nWalsh counties were part of the declaration.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D.
