Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Sept 6, 2012) — Jamestown Police is looking for a man who stole a car and broke into several unlocked cars early Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Police Det. Sgt. Leroy Gross said the crimes happened around the 300 block of Fourth Avenue Northeast.<\/p>\n

The man allegedly stole a car with the keys left in the vehicle, which became stuck in the alley of the 300 block of Fourth Avenue.<\/p>\n

The suspect broke into five unlocked cars and stole a laptop computer valued at $300 plus a set of keys.<\/p>\n

A vehicle owner approached the suspect outside and the suspect raised his arm and told the victim he had a gun.<\/p>\n

The victim did not pursue the suspect.<\/p>\n

The suspect is described as in his early- to mid-20s, about 6 feet 3 inches tall and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt allegedly stole a car with the keys left in the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information is asked to call Jamestown Police at 252-2414.<\/p>\n

Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Sept 5, 2012) — The Jamestown Police Department is warning Jamestown residents of a high risk registered sex offender who has moved to Jamestown.<\/p>\n

The report says 57-year-old David Lynn Meador is living in Room #2 at the Starlite Motel.<\/p>\n

He is a white male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 155 pounds, with hazel eyes, and brown hair.<\/p>\n

He has been assigned a High Risk Assessment by the North Dakota Risk Level Committee of the Office of the Attorney General.<\/p>\n

Meador was convicted of possessing child pornography in Kentucky in January, 2003.<\/p>\n

In 1994, he was convicted of 20 counts of rape, sexual abuse and sodomy of three young girls from 1990 to 1994 in Kentucky.<\/p>\n

Meador is not wanted by police at this time and has served the sentence imposed by the court.<\/p>\n

This notification is meant for public safety and not to increase fear in the community, nor, should this information be used to threaten, assault or intimidate the offender.<\/p>\n

Attempts to harass, intimidate, or threaten these offenders, their families, landlords, or employers, will be turned over for prosecution.<\/p>\n

Valley City, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) \u2014 The Barnes County Municipal Airport in Valley City is hosting the “Wings & Wheels Airshow,” Saturday September 8, 2012.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Airshow Co-Director, Lori Jury said there will be military and static aircraft displays, plus, and evening outdoor bbq dinner served.<\/p>\n

Ms. Jury, on City Matters, updated by saying the dinner has been sold out with about 600 tickets having been sold.<\/p>\n

Airplane rides will also be available.<\/p>\n

Those attending will be treated by sky-divers from Fargo, opening the show.<\/p>\n

Aircraft performers include\u2026award winning Pilots Matt Younkin, and Warren Pietsch, along with Jim “Fang” Maroney, Toby McPherson, Rex Hammarback, and Jarrod and Paul Lindemann.<\/p>\n

McPherson, from Page, North Dakota, flies the P-51 Mustang, which he says won World War II for the allies.<\/p>\n

Barnes County Airport Authority Chairman, Denny Helland said there will be a “Night Air Show,” beginning that evening at 9:30.<\/p>\n

He added the last air show in Valley City was in the early 1980\u2019s when the new runway at that time was dedicated.<\/p>\n

Plans include a fireworks display, and entertainment by the band “Past Due.”<\/p>\n

On site concessions will also be available. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Other ctivities include: A fireworks display, Military and Static Aircraft Displays, a Children\u2019s Play Area, On site concessions\/Beer Garden, and a helicopter ride.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s airshow is being dedicated to the memory of local aviators Larry Lindemann and Bob Beyer.<\/p>\n

Lindemann served as the manager of the Barnes County Municipal Airport for 27 years from 1985-2012. He passed away March 17, 2012.<\/p>\n

Beyer was appointed to the Barnes County Municipal Airport Authority in 1976, serving as chairman for eight years.<\/p>\n

He retired in 2009, and passed away in 2011. Beyer was instrumental in securing funding for and implemented many ideas for development of the local airport.<\/p>\n

In addition to aerobatic entertainment, the event will feature the Bridge City Cruisers Classic Car Show & Shine.<\/p>\n

Show and Shine events include a Tire Changing Contest, and Balance Beam.<\/p>\n

\nnot have to pay costs to farmers who helped flush an escaped
\nconvict from a North Dakota cornfield.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A federal lawsuit against Extradition Transport of America asks
\na judge to order restitution for several law enforcement agencies
\nand the farmers who formed a posse for the October 2011 search.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say about $95,000 was spent recapturing Joseph
\nMegna, who was being transported from Florida to Washington state.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The feds say the action is possible under a 2000 federal law
\npassed following the escape in New Mexico of an inmate convicted of
\nmurdering an 11-year-old Fargo girl, Jeanna North.

\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) – A 22-year-old Grand Forks man accused of
\ndistributing synthetic drugs that led to the deaths of two teens
\nhas been indicted.<\/p>\n

Andrew Spofford pleaded not guilty yesterday to five counts.<\/p>\n

Police say 18-year-old Christian Bjerk and 17-year-old
\nElijah Stai died of apparent overdoses from the synthetic drugs.<\/p>\n

\u00a0STANLEY, N.D. (AP) – A Utah man working in the North Dakota oil fields is being treated at a Minnesota burn center after an oil rig explosion.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mountrail County Sheriff Ken Halvorson says 29-year-old Jeffery Kinkaid, of Nephi, Utah, apparently became wedged beneath a burning tank and suffered burns on about 90 percent of his body in the incident Tuesday at a Hess Corp. site southwest of Stanley.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The cause of the blast was not immediately determined.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – The U.S. Department of Agriculture has
\ndeclared an agricultural disaster for some parts of North Dakota
\ndue to the drought.<\/p>\n

Gov. Jack Dalrymple and North Dakota’s congressional delegation announced that Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack notified them of the declaration on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The declaration makes farmers and ranchers in 16 counties in the state
\neligible for federal assistance because of damaged crops.<\/p>\n

Stutsman and Barnes Counties are included in the declaration.<\/p>\n

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Some Upper Midwest farmers who thought
\nthey caught a break when the federal government eased crop
\ninsurance rules for land hit by prolonged flooding are finding it
\nisn’t as easy to cash in as they first thought.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The “prevented planting” provision pays farmers if they can’t
\nplant due to extreme weather like flooding.<\/p>\n

A new rule for the “prairie pothole” region of the Dakotas, Montana, Minnesota and Iowa addresses multiple-year disasters – essentially letting
\nfarmers collect as long as they had planted a crop on the land at
\nleast once in the past four years.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 But there also are other provisions.<\/p>\n

The Risk Management Agency recently published memorandums clarifying rules, and some farmers aren’t meeting them.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Members of North Dakota’s congressional delegation are urging
\nthe RMA to address the issue.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0FORT YATES, N.D. (AP) – A Florida real estate tycoon who owns a
\ncontroversial bison ranch in the Dakotas is selling a separate
\ncattle ranch.<\/p>\n

Maurice Wilder’s 12,000-acre Wilder Cattle Ranch is to be sold at
\nauction on Sept. 14. Auctioneer Adam Karrels says he is not aware
\nof any plans to sell the 35,000-acre bison ranch that straddles the
\nNorth Dakota-South Dakota border.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Relations between Wilder and ranchers in the Dakotas have been
\nstrained for years.<\/p>\n

The bison ranch has sparked complaints and
\nlawsuits over animals allegedly running loose and causing problems
\nfor neighbors.<\/p>\n

Last year, authorities impounded more than 3,000 of Wilder’s bison after reports of starving animals.<\/p>\n

Wilder paid $57,000 for feed and expenses after the impoundment ended and took about 850 bison to auction.<\/p>\n

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Democratic governor candidate Ryan Taylor
\nbelieves incumbent Republican Jack Dalrymple hasn’t done a good job
\nmanaging the effects of North Dakota’s oil boom.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dalrymple says there’s some catching up to do.<\/p>\n

But he says his administration has done well at trying to build new roads, housing, classrooms and public works to deal with the influx of people.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Taylor and Dalrymple met in Bismarck on Wednesday for their
\nfirst debate. The North Dakota Broadcasters Association hosted
\ndebates for governor, U.S. Senate and U.S. House.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota’s candidates for the U.S.
\nHouse sparred over the issue of tax breaks for the wind energy
\nindustry.<\/p>\n

Democrat Pam Gulleson said during a debate in Bismarck
\nthat tax credits due to expire at the end of the year should be
\nextended. But Republican Kevin Cramer says he’s against keeping the
\ncredits in place when the nation’s debt is soaring.<\/p>\n

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – In North Dakota’s U.S. Senate campaign,
\nRepublican Rick Berg and Democrat Heidi Heitkamp agree on many
\nthings.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 At a debate Wednesday in Bismarck, Berg and Heitkamp said they
\nsupport developing all of the nation’s energy sources, including
\ncoal and oil.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Heitkamp says President Barack Obama has “walked away from coal
\nand been hostile to oil.”
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Heitkamp says she agrees with former Alaska Republican Gov.
\nSarah Palin’s “drill, baby, drill” strategy.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Berg and Heitkamp say the best way to bolster Social Security is
\nto get jobs growing again.<\/p>\n

And they both say they wouldn’t rule out
\nmilitary action against Iran to prevent the country from getting

\nDemocratic U.S. Senate candidate Heidi Heitkamp and House hopeful
\nPam Gulleson should join the GOP.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Stan Stein was reacting to statements Heitkamp and Gulleson made
\nduring debates with Republican opponents Rick Berg and Kevin Cramer
\non Wednesday.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Heitkamp and Gulleson both supported developing North Dakota’s
\noil and coal resources, and Heitkamp was critical of Democratic

Heitkamp backed reducing the national corporate income tax rate.

\nsupport for Obama.

\ndied. He was 87.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The team said Modell died early Thursday at Johns Hopkins
\nHospital, where he had been admitted Wednesday. A cause of death
\nwas not given.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Modell was among the most important figures in the NFL as owner
\nof the Cleveland Browns, which became the Ravens after he took the
\nteam to Baltimore in 1996 in a move that tarnished his reputation
\nas one of the league’s most innovative and influential owners.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 During his four decades as an NFL owner, Modell helped negotiate
\nthe league’s lucrative contracts with television networks, served
\nas president of the NFL from 1967 to 1969, and chaired the
\nnegotiations for the first the collective bargaining agreement with
\nthe players in 1968.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He also was the driving force behind the 1970 contract between
\nthe NFL and ABC to televise games on Monday night.

Investigators say the girl sat huddled in fear for eight hours as French investigators stood nearby, unaware that she was there. The mysterious shooting rampage also left a 7-year-old girl hospitalized with bullet wounds and skull fractures.
