News) \u2014 Jamestown Police investigated a one vehicle accident about 3:30-p.m., Friday (Sept 7, 2012) at Railroad Drive, East, near the intersection of 3<sup>rd<\/sup>Street Southeast.<\/p>\n<p>Reports from the scene indicate a car rolled off of Railroad Drive East, down a slight embankment, and landed against a building.<\/p>\n<p>The driver escaped from the car, and the City Fire Department returned to the fire hall, after being called for assistance.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown Area Ambulance Service was called to the scene, and transported the driver for medical services.<\/p>\n<p>The female driver appeared to be alone in the car at the time of the accident.<\/p>\n<p>The Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office was also called to the scene, as the cause of the accident remains under investigation.<\/p>\n<p>No damage estimates were immediately available to the car, or the building.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) \u2014 The Jamestown City Fire Department was called out at 2:22-p.m., Friday (Sept 7, 2012) to an oven fire, at a residence located at 819 13t<sup>h <\/sup>Avenue, Southwest.<\/p>\n<p>City Fire Chief, Jim Reuther says, grease in the hot oven, caused the fire.<\/p>\n<p>No damages, as the fire department extracted smoke from the home.<\/p>\n<p>No injuries reported.<\/p>\n<p>Five units of the city fire department with 24 fire fighters were on the scene about 20 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) &#8212; The American Association of University Women, Jamestown Branch, is sponsoring a District 12 candidate meet and greet, on Monday September 10, 2012 from 5-p.m. to 7-p.m., at Jamestown College, in the Nafus Student Center, Level 2.<\/p>\n<p>District 12 includes the city of Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday\u2019s (Sept 7, 2012) Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, spokesperson, Joan Enderle said, candidates for the North Dakota District 12 Senate and House races have been invited to be on hand to meet voters and answer their questions.<\/p>\n<p>From 5-p.m., to 6-p.m., will be the meet and greet with the candidates, and then from 6-p.m., to 7-p.m., the candidates will briefly speak, followed by a question and answer session, with topics relating to women.<\/p>\n<p>She pointed out the AAUW\u2019s, &#8220;It\u2019s My Voice, I will Be Heard,&#8221; event is geared to get out the vote, and focuses on the Millennial Generation, those age 18-30.<\/p>\n<p>Individuals will also be on hand to answer any questions regarding voting in the state. (AP) &#8211; A two-alarm fire has destroyed an apartment<br \/>\nbuilding under construction in north Fargo.<br \/>\nThere were no apparent injuries in the blaze that was called in about 4:30 a.m. Friday.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assistant Fire Chief Steve Balstad says most of the large<br \/>\nstructure was engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived and went<br \/>\ninto full defensive mode. The building appears to be a total loss.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Flames spread quickly, but firefighters had most of them<br \/>\nextinguished within a half hour.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tenants of a nearby four-story apartment building were evacuated<br \/>\nas a precaution, but they were allowed to return about 90 minutes<br \/>\nlater.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The cause is under investigation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Nine North Dakota State University<br \/>\nfootball players are among 15 people who have been formally charged<br \/>\nwith faking petition signatures in a scandal that stopped two<br \/>\ncitizen initiatives from making the November ballot.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Cass County State&#8217;s Attorney Birch Burdick says the 15 are<br \/>\nscheduled for their first court appearance Oct. 2.<\/p>\n<p>They were charged Friday with a misdemeanor that carries a maximum penalty of a year in jail and a $2,000 fine.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Allegations of faked signatures forced North Dakota Secretary of<br \/>\nState Al Jaeger to disqualify the initiatives.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The measures were aimed at setting up a conservation fund<br \/>\nfinanced by oil taxes and legalizing marijuana use for pain relief.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The list of defendants has nine members of NDSU&#8217;s football team.<br \/>\nThe Bison are the defending NCAA Football Championship Subdivision<br \/>\nchampion.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Six American Indian students at the University of North Dakota who sued the university and state officials over the school&#8217;s Fighting Sioux nickname say they will not appeal a federal judge&#8217;s dismissal of their lawsuit.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 U.S. District Judge Ralph Erickson last month threw out the lawsuit. He said an overwhelming statewide vote in June against the nickname, as well as the state Board of Higher Education&#8217;s clear intent to retire the moniker, rendered many points in the lawsuit moot.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Attorney Carla Fredericks, who represented the students, says while there is a legal basis for appeal the students feel that the objective to end use of the nickname has been met.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Crop production in the two Dakotas this year couldn&#8217;t be more different.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 While South Dakota is expecting big production drops because of the drought, North Dakota is anticipating huge production increases as farmers rebound from devastating flooding last year.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The most recent government estimates predict a 37 percent increase in North Dakota&#8217;s spring wheat crop and a 152 percent increase in durum wheat.<\/p>\n<p>Analysts at the market information company DTN say the increased production could be a factor in weaker market prices this year.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In South Dakota, the soybean crop is expected to be down 8 percent and the corn crop down 21 percent.<\/p>\n<p>DTN analysts say that alone isn&#8217;t likely to influence markets, but it also doesn&#8217;t help the situation as concerns continue to grow over total U.S. supplies.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>GRAND FORKS, N.D.
