Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) \u2014 The 2nd<\/sup> Act Community Theater in Jamestown is in rehearsals for the upcoming production of Neil Simon\u2019s “The Odd Couple”<\/strong> <\/span>September 20, 21, and 22, 2012 at the Jamestown Arts Center.<\/p>\n

On Thusrday\u2019s (Sept 13, 2012) WAYNE BYERS SHOW<\/span> on CSi 2, 2nd ACT Director Lori Dorr said the dinner theater will be each evening starting with dinner at 6-p.m., and the play at 7-p.m. On Saturday the 22nd<\/sup> there will be a matinee performance at 2-p.m.<\/p>\n

Tickets for the dinner theater are $20 for Arts Center members and $25 for non-members.<\/p>\n

The tickets for the Saturday matinee play-only performance are $7 for Arts Center members and $10 for non-members.<\/p>\n

She said the Friday the 21st<\/sup> tickets are going quickly, however each performance traditionally has brisk ticket sales, so she suggests making reservation early.<\/p>\n

Ms. Dorr said, the leads in The Odd Couple are, Ben Rogers who plays Oscar Madison, and Reggie Von Beekum who plays Felix Unger.<\/p>\n

The Odd Couple cast consists of six men and two women.<\/p>\n

The roles which are similar to the characters in the Neil Simon play, and television series of the same name, with the production closer to the Broadway play, and movie, written by Neil Simon.<\/p>\n

Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — The Buffalo Mall is having a FALL-Back..To School Fashion Show, on Saturday September 15, 2012.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week on The Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Trendsetters Modeling spokesperson, Mary Schwartzkopf said, participants will model fashions from various Buffalo Mall merchants.<\/p>\n

She added the show will incorporate youth and adult models.<\/p>\n

The show begins Saturday at 2-p.m., and should go for about 40-minutes.<\/p>\n

Ms Schwartzkopf pointed out that this week is Fashion Week, in New York City, so the mini condensed Fashion Day Show, will be in Jamestown at the Buffalo Mall.<\/p>\n

Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Spet 13, 2012) — The Southeast Jamestown Regional DUI Task Force participated in the Regional DUI Task Force program in NorthDakota.<\/p>\n

They made 6 driving under the influence arrests, 104 other significant arrests and made a total of 241enforcement contacts during the recent unified saturation patrol effort. <\/span><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

This task force began on October 1, 2010 in order to take significant steps towards reducing alcohol-related crashes and fatalities across the state.<\/p>\n

In the Southeast Jamestown Region, fifteen law enforcement agencies participated in the fourth quarter of this program.<\/p>\n

By working together to create high visibility enforcement,early results show a positive impact on deterring motorists from drinking and driving.<\/p>\n

During the fourth quarter enforcement period, which was conducted from August 17-September 3, 2012, there was one crash and one impaired driving fatality in the region.<\/p>\n

These statistics emphasize the importance of enforcement and saturation patrols in protecting motorists on North Dakota\u2019s roadways.<\/p>\n

Eighty-three percent of all law enforcement agencies currently participate in the DUI Task Force across North Dakota.<\/p>\n

This program is intended to save lives by reducing alcohol-related fatalities and car crashes.<\/p>\n

The Southeast Jamestown Regional DUI Task Force includes the following agencies: NDHP, Eddy, Foster, Griggs, Stutsman, Barnes, Logan, McIntosh, LaMoure Sheriff\u2019s Departments, and Carrington, Jamestown, Valley City, LaMoure, Kulm, Oakes Police Departments.<\/p>\n

FARGO, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) wants North Dakotans to make a point of having recess every day, and it has big plans to help people do that by promoting, advocating and supporting a statewide platform called, “The Official Sponsor of Recess.”<\/p>\n

Paul von Ebers, president and CEO of BCBSND, said as The Official Sponsor of Recess, BCBSND will sponsor places and opportunities for activity \u2013 and active play \u2013 across North Dakota including the classroom, workplace and where North Dakotans gather.<\/p>\n

Ebers says, “It\u2019s important for all of us to find time in our day for a break \u2013 whether it\u2019s a 15-minute walk around your workplace, or a physical activity break for kids in the classroom.”<\/p>\n

The mental and physical benefits of recess are well-documented.<\/p>\n

In North Dakota, nearly 28% of residents are classified as obese by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, according a 2011 survey.<\/p>\n

He adds, “Many chronic conditions stem from being overweight. And it\u2019s those same chronic conditions that create the majority of the cost and burden to our health care system. Getting folks to make activity a daily habit will do a lot to lower health care costs.”<\/p>\n

Recess YES! debuts<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple has directed all state government agencies to fly the U.S. and state flags at half-staff in honor of the victims of the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.<\/p>\n

The attack by extremists on Tuesday killed four State Department employees, including the American ambassador to Libya, and wounded three others.<\/p>\n

Dalrymple’s directive is in accordance with one from President Barack Obama.<\/p>\n

It is in effect until sunset Sunday Sept. 16, 2012.<\/p>\n

Dalrymple also is encouraging state residents to fly their flags at half-staff<\/p>\n

until then.<\/p>\n

Flags in North Dakota are to be at half-staff on Friday for a second reason – former astronaut Neil Armstrong is being buried that day.<\/p>\n

\u00a0WATFORD CITY, N.D. (AP) – Construction is starting on a large
\nhousing project in the western North Dakota oil patch community of
\nWatford City.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Gov. Jack Dalrymple, local officials and representatives of
\nLutheran Social Services Housing on Thursday broke ground for the
\n12-building apartment complex.<\/p>\n

The $17 million project is to have housing for everyone from the elderly to teachers and law officers.
\nIt also is to eventually include a child care center.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Housing has become scarce in the booming oil patch. Dalrymple
\nsays the Prairie Heights development “will enrich the quality of
\nlife in Watford City.”
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The project will be done in two phases, and completed by next
\nAugust.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 MBI Energy Services has provided land and pledged $2 million for
\nthe project in exchange for state tax credits.<\/p>\n

\u00a0SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) – Drought conditions have changed little
\nin South Dakota over the week but have worsened in North Dakota.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 South Dakota still remains harder-hit, with the U.S. Drought
\nMonitor map showing 68 percent of the state in severe, extreme and
\nexceptional drought.<\/p>\n

That’s down 1 percent from last week.<\/p>\n

The amount in the exceptional category remains at 5 percent, almost all
\nof it in the southeastern corner.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 North Dakota has no areas in extreme or exceptional drought, but
\nabout 28 percent of the state is now in severe drought, up from 20
\npercent last week.<\/p>\n

The worst-hit areas are in the west and the east.<\/p>\n

\u00a0WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) – Two competing medical centers held grand
\nopening ceremonies for new facilities in Williston on the same day
\nthis week, and across the street from one another.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 But Mercy Medical Center and Trinity Health consider themselves
\npartners in serving the region, not rivals.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Forum newspaper reports that Minot-based Trinity has opened
\nits $10.5 million Trinity Health-Western Dakota clinic.
\nWilliston-based Mercy will begin serving patients in late October
\nin its $20 million Birthplace at Mercy & Outpatient Surgery Center.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Williston is in the heart of western North Dakota’s booming oil
\npatch. Theresia Swartout with Trinity says it will take both
\nfacilities to serve the swelling population.<\/p>\n

\nScandinavian-American Hall of Fame.

BENGHAZI, Libya (AP) – A Libyan official says authorities have
\narrested some militants suspected of taking part in the attack on a
\nU.S. consulate that left the American ambassador and three other
\nAmericans dead.<\/p>\n

He says others are still being monitored by police.
\nThe official says the attack was an organized operation carried out
\nby heavily armed militants — an operation that included a
\ncarefully-timed raid on what was supposed to be a secret safe
\nhouse, just as security forces arrived to rescue consulate staff.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 WASHINGTON (AP) – There’s more information on just who was
\nbehind the anti-Muslim film that has ignited mob violence across
\nthe Mideast.<\/p>\n

A U.S. law enforcement official says authorities have
\nidentified a southern California man as the key figure involved in
\nmaking the film.<\/p>\n

He’s identified as Nakoula Basseley Nakoula — a
\nCoptic Christian who was once convicted of financial crimes. A man
\nwho had claimed to be the writer and director of the film initially
\nsaid he had a Jewish and Israeli background.<\/p>\n

But there’s increasing evidence that the man — who used another name — is, in fact, Nakoula.

\nto turn in any money they picked up in the streets during a wild
\nchase that followed a bank robbery Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Two of the suspects, with police hot on their trail, wove through the streets of South Los Angeles in a stolen SUV, tossing money out the window.<\/p>\n

Police think they may have been hoping that crowds would gather for the
\nmoney, and block the police cars.<\/p>\n
