(AP) – State regulators say it will take at least a “couple of days” to stop a blowout at an oil well site in northwest North Dakota.

The site is operated by Whiting Petroleum. A spokesman says about 50 barrels of flow back water were leaked. The company was able to divert the fluid to nearby storage tanks. No oil was spilled.

Lynn Helms of the North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources says an equipment failure likely caused the blowout. The ordinance also prohibits minors from using e-cigarettes.

Commissioners there have given initial approval to a similar ordinance in that city.

City leaders in Fargo late last year decided to include e-cigarettes in their tobacco ordinance, making it illegal to give or sell them to minors.

E-cigarette inhalers are an odorless, vapor-emitting substitute for tobacco cigarettes. Advocates say they can help smokers quit tobacco, but some health advocates believe the inhalers can get people hooked on nicotine just like cigarettes.

In sports..

WDA Boys Hockey Tournament

Loser Out Game

Fri. The report adds that it was hard to evaluate Martin’s claims, because of what it called his “possible heightened sensitivity to insults” and what the report described as his “unusual, ‘bipolar’ friendship with Incognito.”

KAMPALA, Uganda (AP) – An official says Uganda’s president plans to sign into law an anti-gay bill passed by lawmakers that would allow life imprisonment for gays. (AP) – Two math majors at an Oregon college apparently hadn’t calculated the kind of damage an 800-pound snowball could do. They lost control of the massive snowball, which they had started making last week during a rare snowstorm in Portland. It rolled into a dorm at Reed College, knocking in part of a bedroom wall. No one was hurt. The students responsible for the runaway snowball reported the incident, and haven’t been disciplined.
