The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) and the North Dakota Highway Patrol have LIFTED <\/b>the No Travel Advisory<\/b> on Highway 85 between Watford City and Williston. A Travel Alert is in effect for the area.<\/p>\n

A Travel Alert <\/b>remains in effect <\/b>for northwestern North Dakota due to snow causing hazardous driving conditions. Cities included in the Travel Alert<\/b> are Williston, Minot, Watford City, and surrounding areas. A Travel Alert <\/b>means conditions are such that motorists can still travel <\/b>in these areas, but should be advised of rapidly changing conditions.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Weekend recap…<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0 As reported here on Saturday, Jamestown Police has confirmed that Saturday morning, the search ended for 78 year old Ruby Grenz of Jamestown, when her body was found inside her minivan.<\/p>\n

Jamestown Police Chief, Scott Edinger says at 11:10-a.m. Saturday she was found by the rural fire department chief, just northwest of Jamestown.<\/p>\n

The minivan was stuck in snow along a small road\u00a0among construction vehicles\u00a0and equipment\u00a0behind Border States Paving.\u00a0\u00a0The construction vehicles and equipment\u00a0\u00a0are a similar color to her vehicle, which was not running when it was discovered.\u00a0 Snow cover also somewhat matched the silver van\u2019s color, so it was difficult to see during the air searches.<\/p>\n

Edinger noted that it appears Grenz turned down 4th Street Northwest from U.S. Highway 281. He said the street isn\u2019t developed beyond the driveway into Border States Paving, but Grenz kept going until her minivan got stuck.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that part of the problem in locating Grenz was the tire tracks her minivan made in the snow going beyond the entrance to Border State Paving blew shut fairly quickly, so there was no sign that a vehicle had driven into that area.<\/p>\n

Further investigation will include determining the carbon monoxide level inside the van.<\/p>\n

A cause of death has not yet been determined.<\/p>\n

The Jamestown Police Department says the community showed\u00a0an overwhelming support and help during the search this week.<\/p>\n

He added citzens that helped in the search, along\u00a0with\u00a0the Postal Service\u00a0 the Civil Air Patrol and others \u00a0made a difference.<\/p>\n

Aiding in the search were,\u00a0 the Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Jamestown Rural Fire Department, Jamestown Fire Department, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Regional Drug Task Force, the Civil Air Patrol and aircraft,\u00a0and other regional law enforcement agencies\u00a0and the American Red Cross.<\/p>\n

He added a big \u2018thank you\u2019 to everyone who joined the effort.<\/p>\n

Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. Thursday at Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel in Jamestown. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Temple Baptist Church in Jamestown. Rev. Randy Jaspers will officiate. Interment will be in Highland Home Cemetery in Jamestown.<\/p>\n

\u00a0MINOT, N.D. (AP) – A search committee has narrowed down the list of candidates for Minot State University president to three.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The committee is recommending Lorrie Clemo, Steve Shirley<\/strong> and Martin Slann for consideration by the full state board of higher education.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Clemo is provost and vice president for academic affairs at the State University of New York at Oswego. Shirley is the president of Valley City State University.<\/strong> Slann is dean of the college of arts and sciences at the University of Texas in Tyler.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The board will meet on the Minot State University campus on Feb. 27 to interview the three candidates and make a final decision.

\u00a0GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) – Fire officials in Grand Forks say one person was hospitalized after a fire in an apartment complex.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Crews arrived at the building on 10th Street just after 7 a.m. Sunday and encountered smoke in a third floor unit and one occupant needing medical attention. The person was taken to a local hospital but the extent of the injuries is not known.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Officials say the fire was out on arrival due to quick actions by another individual in the complex. Damage is estimated at $7,000.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The cause of the fire is still under investigation.<\/p>\n

MINOT, N.D. (AP) – A North Dakota man accused of driving over and killing a woman in Belcourt while helping to start her car has been sentenced to more than two years in prison.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say Joshua Demery, of Rugby, was under the influence of liquor and drugs when the incident happened in October 2012.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Leah Nadeau was struck and killed while she was standing in front of the car.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 U.S. District Judge Daniel Hovland sentenced Demery to 30 months in prison, with credit for time served.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Demery was ordered to pay more than $4,000 in restitution.<\/p>\n

MINOT, N.D. (AP) – A loud party in Minot over the weekend led to the arrest of 64 people on a total of 71 charges.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police say 27 juveniles and 37 adults were arrested early Sunday on charges ranging from underage drinking to disorderly conduct. Six adults were jailed for detoxification.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say the party was hosted by a 17-year-old girl. She was arrested for disorderly conduct and unlawful consumption of alcohol.<\/p>\n

FARGO, N.D. (AP) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says it will begin drawing down water in Lake Traverse near Wheaton, Minn., in preparation for the spring melt in the Red River Valley.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Corps officials will begin releasing approximately 400 cubic feet per second on Tuesday, in an effort to lower the reservoir by nearly a foot by March 1. The water will flow north through Mud Lake and White Rock Dam before entering the Bios de Sioux River.\u00a0

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Corps officials are encouraging caution during this time because of the increased river flows. They say ice conditions will deteriorate and become unsafe on the Bois de Sioux River as far downstream as Wahpeton and Breckenridge, Minn.<\/p>\n

\u00a0WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) – A national study from an apartment renting guide shows that the North Dakota oil patch city of Williston has the highest average rent in the country. The Williston Herald reports that Apartment Guide found that a 700-square-foot, one-bedroom apartment in Williston costs an average of $2,394 a month. The same apartment would cost $1,504 in the New York area, $1,411 in Los Angeles or $1,537 in Boston.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota’s Public Service Commission has set three public hearings for a proposed pipeline that would move North Dakota oil to Minnesota and Wisconsin.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The hearings for Enbridge Energy’s Sandpiper pipeline are slated for Wednesday in Grand Forks; Thursday in Devils Lake; and Feb. 27 in Minot.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Calgary, Alberta-based company is proposing the $2.6 billion, 612-mile pipeline to carry 225,000 barrels of oil daily to a hub in northern Minnesota and 375,000 barrels to one in northwestern Wisconsin.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If approved by regulators, it would be the largest pipeline moving oil out of North Dakota.\u00a0
