We are sorry for any inconvenience.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi ) No injuries reported Friday in a house fire at 8171 31st Street, Southeast at around noon.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown Rural Fire Department Chief, Rick Woehl says the fire started at a space heater in a basement bedroom.<\/p>\n<p>The fire was confined to the bedroom with smoke was reported throughout the house.<\/p>\n<p>The Rural Fire Department and had 12 firefighters and four trucks on the scene for about an hour and a half.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) Victory Christian School in Jamestown will host the first Winter Gala fundraising event.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, spokesperson Levi Taylor said, on Thursday, March 13, 2014 there will be dinner and entertainment in the University of Jamestown\u2019s, Reiland Fine Arts Center. Doors open at 5-p.m., dinner is at 5:30-p.m., with entertainment, by Deuces Wild, dueling pianos from Minneapolis at 7-p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Taylor said, while tickets to the dinner are sold out, there will be some tickets to the concert at the door at $35. (AP) &#8211; A judge has refused to dismiss a felony manslaughter charge against a Williston man accused in a fatal hit-and-run.<\/p>\n<p>David Krause is accused of manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident in the Dec. 6 death of 31-year-old Anthony Scoggins outside a bar.<\/p>\n<p>Defense attorney Jeff Nehring argued during a court hearing Wednesday that the incident was an accident, and the manslaughter charge should be dropped.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutor Nathan Madden maintained that Krause lied when he told investigators that he wasn&#8217;t aware he had run over Scoggins.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Joshua Rustad upheld the manslaughter charge and said a jury trial will be scheduled on both felony charges. He did not immediately set a date.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Fargo police have arrested a suspect in a convenience store robbery late last month.<\/p>\n<p>The 20-year-old Fargo man is a suspect in the Feb. 24 holdup of a Petro Serve USA store. Authorities say two men with guns robbed the store in the early morning hours.<\/p>\n<p>The man was arrested Thursday on robbery and drug charges. Formal charges had not yet been filed Friday morning.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>MINOT, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A man accused of human trafficking in Minot has pleaded not guilty to the felony charge.<\/p>\n<p>An arrest warrant was issued in May 2013 for 32-year-old Loc Tran. He was arrested in Denver in late January and brought back to North Dakota to face the charge that carries a maximum punishment of 20 years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>Tran and Trina Nguyen (wihn) are accused of running The Mann&#8217;s Club, a massage parlor in Minot that prostituted women who couldn&#8217;t speak English and lived on the upper floor of the business. Nguyen earlier pleaded not guilty. A trial date has not been set for either suspect.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota&#8217;s top law enforcer and the state&#8217;s Public Service Commission chairman are facing Democratic challengers.<\/p>\n<p>Fargo businessman Todd Reisenauer announced Thursday that he&#8217;s seeking his party&#8217;s endorsement for the PSC seat held by Republican Brian Kalk, who has not formally announced his intentions for re-election.<\/p>\n<p>Grand Forks attorney Kiara Kraus-Parr also launched her campaign this week for attorney general, a position Republican Wayne Stenehjem (STEHN&#8217;-juhm) has held since 2000. Stenehjem also hasn&#8217;t formally announced his campaign for re-election.<\/p>\n<p>North Dakota Democrats will hold their state convention in Fargo March 28-30.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>MANDAN, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Mandan this spring plans to shut down nearly all of the wells that have been sucking up an underground diesel fuel spill for nearly a decade.<\/p>\n<p>The spill was discovered in the mid-1980s. BNSF Railway agreed in 2004 to pay more than $30 million in cash and real estate to settle a lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the money has been used for the wells. The Bismarck Tribune reports a consultant installed 300 wells to go with 60 that had previously been installed.<\/p>\n<p>Consultant Tim Kenyon says the city has gone from 4 feet of diesel under a large part of downtown to only a handful of wells collecting the fuel. He says 322 wells will be shut down this spring, monitored for a year and likely decommissioned in spring 2015.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In world and national news&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>MOSCOW (AP) &#8211; There&#8217;s a lot of enthusiasm in Russia over the idea of bringing Ukraine&#8217;s Crimea back into Russian territory. Tens of thousands of people crowded Red Square in Moscow Friday, waving flags and chanting &#8220;Crimea is Russia!&#8221; Lawmakers in Crimea have called a referendum on March 16th on whether the semi-autonomous region should join Russia. Europe and the United States are imposing sanctions on Russia over the deployment of troops in Crimea. But a Russian statement says Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has warned Secretary of State John Kerry that the sanctions could backfire.<\/p>\n<p>FORT BRAGG, N.C. (AP) &#8211; An Army captain has testified that a brigadier general threatened to kill her and her family if she ever told anyone about their three-year affair. The tearful testimony came on the opening day of the court-martial of Jeffrey Sinclair at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. Prosecutors say Sinclair used his authority to intimidate and coerce the captain into sex. The trial comes as the Pentagon is under heavy pressure to deal with rape and other sexual misconduct in the ranks.<\/p>\n<p>DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) &#8211; Police in Florida say the three young children who were in a minivan as their mother drove it into the ocean surf were screaming to bystanders that she was trying to kill them. The bystanders and police helped rescue the children and their mother from the minivan Tuesday as it was almost submerged on Daytona Beach. Friday, the mother is facing charges including attempted murder. Ebony Wilkerson has denied trying to hurt her children, but witnesses say she tried to keep them from rescuing the children.<\/p>\n<p>HOMESTEAD, Fla. (AP) &#8211; President Barack Obama is in Florida &#8212; announcing an initiative to help students complete an application form for federal grants. As part of an effort to broaden access to education, the Education Department will be working with states to identify students who haven&#8217;t completed the form. It&#8217;s required for students to receive federal aid such as Pell Grants and federal student loans.<\/p>\n<p>BOISE, Idaho (AP) &#8211; The FBI has launched a criminal investigation into a private prison company, Corrections Corporation of America. It ran Idaho&#8217;s largest prison for more than a decade &#8212; but last year, company officials acknowledged that CCA had understaffed the prison by thousands of hours in violation of the state contract.
