AT THIS<\/p>\n<p>TIME IT APPEARS THAT THIS SYSTEM WOULD HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO BRING<\/p>\n<p>1-3 INCHES OF SNOW ACROSS WESTERN AND CENTRAL NORTH DAKOTA.<\/p>\n<p>YET ANOTHER SYSTEM IS FORECAST FOR TUESDAY INTO<\/p>\n<p>WEDNESDAY.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) The Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office is warning the public about a high-risk registered sex offender is living in rural Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>38 year old Timothy Richard Olpin, also known as Ray Brown, lives at 3450 82nd Avenue, Southeast, Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>He is a white male, 6 feet tall, weighing 240 pounds with hazel eyes and gray hair.<\/p>\n<p>Olpin was convicted of gross sexual imposition in 2000. Authorities said he had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl on six occasions. He was sentenced in Morton County District Court in North Dakota to six years with five years suspended.<\/p>\n<p>Olpin was also convicted of third degree sexual assault in 1991. Authorities said at age 16, Olpin molested a 5-year-old boy he was supervising in a church basement. He was given probation in Frederick County Juvenile Court in Maryland.<\/p>\n<p>Olpin is not on probation and has served the sentence imposed by the court. He is not wanted by law enforcement at this time. The notification is intended for public safety and not to increase fear in the community. The information should also not be used to threaten, assault or intimidate Olpin. Attempts to harass, intimidate or threaten Olpin or his family, landlord or employer will be turned over for prosecution.<\/p>\n<p>Printed handouts of Olpin\u2019s demographics are available at the Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK (CSi) A small group of North Dakota Army National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Valley City, N.D.-based 231st Brigade Support Battalion (231st BSB) have received an alert notification for possible mobilization. The Soldiers are organized into a specialized Logistical Support Element (LSE) designated as the 231st BSB LSE.<\/p>\n<p>If mobilized, approximately 15 Soldiers assigned to the 231st BSB LSE are expected to serve in support of Operation Enduring Freedom Afghanistan late in 2014. This would be the first overseas deployment for Soldiers of the 231st BSB since the North Dakota Army National Guard&#8217;s peace-keeping mission in Kosovo in 2009-2010.<\/p>\n<p>North Dakota adjutant general, Maj. Gen. David Sprynczynatyk, says &#8220;These expert Army logisticians will provide specialized supply operations support to U.S. and Coalition forces still serving in Afghanistan. If these Soldiers are mobilized, it&#8217;s a comfort to know that they can rely on the continued support of their families and employers allowing them to concentrate on their overseas mission.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>North Dakota Army National Guard units that are currently mobilized overseas include the Bismarck-based 814th Medical Company (Area Support) in Afghanistan and Company C, 2nd Battalion, 285th Aviation Regiment in Kosovo. Crestwell, the Countess\u2019s butler, quickly devises a plan-but an inebriated Lucas\u2019s arrival at Marshwood to try to talk to Miranda causing all chaos to break loose.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show, on CSi Cable 2, Reggie vanBeekom, who plays the family butler, Crestwell, says he based the character on a Brittish explorer, an earlier character he&#8217;d developed.<\/p>\n<p>Also on our show, Chris Sheppard, who plays Felicity, the Countess of Marchwood.<\/p>\n<p>She portrays the character with an upper-crust British accent.<\/p>\n<p>She said it helped that the play mostly concerns family and people who know each other well &#8211; and many of the actors in the show have worked together in the past.<\/p>\n<p>The cast includes Krissy Nybo as Alice, Sarah Cole as Mrs. Moxton, Lori Richardson as Lady Hayling, Bill Nybo as Admiral Sir John Hayling, Jack Waters as the Hon. Peter Ingleton, Joel Blaha as Nigel, Earl of Marshwood, Amanda Roecker as Miranda Frayule and Jeff Pratt as Don Lucas.<\/p>\n<p>The large crew includes assistant directors Melissa Goodrich and Shelly Anderson, with costume design by Carrie Roemmich and Samantha Carlson, set construction by Ken Gilbertson and set design and props by Bonnie Rogers.<\/p>\n<p>Noel Coward, was an English playwright, composer, director, actor and singer, known for his wit, flamboyance, and what Time magazine called &#8220;a sense of personal style, a combination of cheek and chic, pose and poise.&#8221; He virtually invented the concept of &#8220;Englishness&#8221; for the 20th century.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Valley City (CSi) A permanent flood protection plan for Valley City will soon be in the preliminary plan stage.<\/p>\n<p>A plan for the entire city will be submitted in May to the State Water Commission and Governor Dalrymple.<\/p>\n<p>City Commissioner Matt Pedersen says the projected cost for the entire city is at $60 million dollars with the city\u2019s local share at 25 percent or lower.<\/p>\n<p>He says there is also an effort to reduce the city\u2019s total cost share ratio below the normal 25 percent.<\/p>\n<p>The cost of the first phase of the project surrounding Valley City State University is estimated at $15 million dollars according to KLJ engineer Chad Petersen.<\/p>\n<p>Pedersen says positive support to obtain funds is coming from the governor and the State Water Commission.<\/p>\n<p>Pedersen says another option being discussed is to put before voters, an extension to the city sales tax used to finance the Hi Liner Activity Center which will expire in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>He says $450,000 collected annually from that sales tax could be used to pay for the project through a long-term low interest loan.<\/p>\n<p>At Monday\u2019s meeting, Valley City resident Gary Schlegel joined others in their concerned about the direction of the project, including the cost of buyouts and constructing flood walls.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Music Boosters will hold a meeting on April 15, 2014 at 5:30 PM to discuss the future of the organization.<\/p>\n<p>The club is in need of members with three officers stepping down at the end of this year.<\/p>\n<p>The non-profit Music Boosters supports Jamestown Public School\u2019s music program.<\/p>\n<p>If residents are interested in serving on the board, they can attend the session or contact Cheyrl McIntyre at Jamestown High School.<\/p>\n<p>In the past the boosters has raised over $30,000 for the purchase of a Grand Piano, Bass Clarinet, along with International Music Camp Scholarships, Piano Tuning and advertising for beginning band.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A man accused of robbing a Medina bank at gunpoint says he will plead guilty.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Rendell Hardy is one of two men charged in the case. Authorities say Hardy and Satrone Boyd held up the Northland Financial bank in October. Boyd pleaded guilty in January.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Witnesses say Hardy and Boyd wore masks during the robbery and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The two men face maximum sentences of 20 years in prison.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A change of plea hearing for Hardy has not been scheduled. Boyd is scheduled for sentencing on April 28.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>KULM, N.D. (AP) \u2013 Voters in Kulm appear to have approved a $5.5 million addition to the elementary school in the southeastern North Dakota town.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 School Superintendent Tom Nitschke (NIHTCH\u2019-kee)\u00a0says that unofficial results show about 81 percent of the 434 people who voted Tuesday were in favor of the project. The measure required 60 percent approval.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nResults will be certified Monday.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Supporters said the expansion would improve school security, provide a better library and address issues with growth. Opponents wanted the existing school to be renovated instead.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bismarck (CSi) A former District 29 state legislator will announce her candidacy today in Bismarck for the Democratic-NPL Party&#8217;s endorsement for secretary of state.<\/p>\n<p>April Fairfield, who works in non-profit organization leadership, served in the North Dakota Senate from 2002 to 2006 and in the House of Representatives from 1996 to 2002, representing Eldridge, west of Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>The secretary of state office is currently held by Republican Al Jaeger.<\/p>\n<p>The North Dakota Democratic-NPL Party will endorse its slate of statewide candidates at the party&#8217;s State Convention, which will be held this weekend, Thursday through Saturday, in Fargo.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A 55-year-old Bismarck college student accused of having marijuana mailed to him on campus has pleaded not guilty.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0University of Mary student Ronald Turner is charged with attempting to possess a controlled substance and possessing drug paraphernalia. He was charged in February after authorities say they discovered marijuana in a package that went through the school&#8217;s mailroom.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Turner could face up to six years in prison and $7,000 in fines if convicted.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A third man who was among the victims of an early March crash that involved a pickup truck and a dump truck has died.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 24-year-old Blaze Kenny Unruh, of Bismarck, died from injuries resulting from the incident in Williams County.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The pickup driver Michael Rameden, of Ray, and passenger Kyle Keller, of Bismarck, died at the scene. Blaze Unruh, another passenger, was flown to a hospital.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The North Dakota Highway Patrol has said the pickup truck ran a stop sign and collided with the driver&#8217;s side of the dump truck at the intersection of U.S. Highway 2 and a county road, about 13 miles west of Williston.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The dump truck driver wasn&#8217;t hurt.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Patrol investigators are working on reconstructing the incident to determine the cause.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Officials are investigating a fire at an oil rig site in western North Dakota.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 State Department of Mineral Resources spokeswoman Alison Ritter says the fire was reported Tuesday afternoon near Watford City. She says a Nabors Industries rig caught fire at a Whiting Petroleum oil well site.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ritter says more details are expected Wednesday. (AP) &#8211; Authorities say a North Dakota woman whose 13-year-old son weighed 21 pounds when he died in January has been charged with murder.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 State Medical Examiner William Massello says Jessica Jensen&#8217;s son died from chronic starvation due to untreated juvenile appetite disorder. He listed the manner of death as homicide.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Court documents say Jensen told investigators her son had a hormonal growth problem, that his pituitary gland did not function properly, and that he had not seen a doctor for several years.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Jensen, of Kenmare, is also charged with neglect for allegedly failing to properly care for her other two children.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Court documents don&#8217;t list an attorney for Jensen. She could face life in prison without parole if convicted.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Kenmare&#8217;s in northern North Dakota near the Canadian border.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0WASHINGTON (AP) &#8211; The fire chief of an eastern North Dakota town says &#8220;about everything went right&#8221; with his force&#8217;s response to a fiery train derailment because they had properly planned for disasters.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Casselton Fire Chief Tim McLean says the Dec. 30 derailment could have been a deadly incident and credits training and federal financial support. He spoke to a Senate subcommittee on Tuesday at the invitation of Sen. Heidi Heitkamp.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 An oil train collided with a grain car outside of Casselton on Dec. 30 sparking explosions and a smoke plume that hung over the town of about 2,400 residents. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota has recorded the highest personal income growth among all states for the sixth time in the last seven years.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Statistics released Tuesday by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis indicated that the state&#8217;s personal income grew 7.6 percent in 2013. Utah ranked behind North Dakota with a 4 percent growth.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The federal report tied the state&#8217;s income to various business sectors including agriculture, construction and energy development.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Gov. Jack Dalrymple says the report shows that the state&#8217;s efforts to create jobs and career opportunities are getting results.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The national average of growth declined last year. The bureau reports the national average as 2.6 percent in 2013, down from 4.2 percent in 2012.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Earnings grew in 2013 in every industry nationwide except civilian federal government, which fell $6.7 billion.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>PIERRE, S.D. (AP) &#8211; The rapid spread of a swine virus is forcing officials in the Dakotas to take extra precautions for pig shows at county and state fairs.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus spreads through pig manure. It&#8217;s not harmful to humans but is often deadly to piglets.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 South Dakota 4H weigh-in competitions that bring swine together will be cancelled for the season. Student exhibitors will be able to forego their county fair and go to the state fair to avoid swine comingling.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 North Dakota&#8217;s pork producer trade group earlier lobbied for the suspension of the show pig season. North Dakota will move forward, providing safety recommendations for show attendees.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The virus has been in the country for less than a year and already has a reported effect on the cost of pork.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 MINOT, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota is starting to move some B-52 bombers to Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota while runway upgrades are completed at the Minot base.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The first bombers were heading south on Wednesday. The military hasn&#8217;t said how many, but officials say about 300 personnel will be making the temporary transfer. A similar number of airmen and bombers are being temporarily housed in Guam.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Officials say Ellsworth was chosen as a temporary site because it&#8217;s close and has a suitable runway. The South Dakota base houses B-1 bombers.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The runway at the Minot base is being shut down on April 1 for the final part of a three-year runway project that carries a $67 million price tag and should wrap up in early October.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota residents are getting back nearly $390,000 as part of a national settlement in an electronic book price-fixing lawsuit.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem (STEHN&#8217;-juhm) says the refunds will be in the form of account credits or checks. They will go to consumers who bought certain e-books between April 1, 2010, and May 21, 2012.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The lawsuit was filed by 33 states against Apple Inc. and five of the nation&#8217;s six largest e-book publishers. The publishers settled claims against them for a total payment of $166 million.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Apple did not settle and was found at trial last year to have played a central role in a conspiracy to fix prices.
