Three Urban\/City Seats are up for election, with two individuals on the ballot.<\/p>\n

Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 Jamestown High School Activities Director Jim Roaldson reports that Jamestown\u00a0High School Head Boy’s Basketball Coach Kelley Kessler has resigned his position.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kessler has served in this position for the past 4 seasons.\u00a0 He will continue to coach the Blue Jay Baseball team as well as teach at Jamestown Middle School.<\/p>\n

ISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Officials in a small North Dakota town unsuccessfully targeted for takeover by a white supremacist have filed a complaint with the state against the prosecutor in the case who negotiated a plea deal that might keep Craig Cobb out of prison.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Leith Mayor Ryan Schock, City Councilman Lee Cook and city website developer Greg Bruce say prosecutor Todd Schwarz hasn’t followed the town’s wishes that Cobb get prison time for terrorizing residents. They want Schwarz censured and removed from the case.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Schwarz says he’s handled the case properly, and he doesn’t expect the complaint to affect it.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The 62-year-old Cobb is awaiting sentencing after agreeing to plead guilty to five misdemeanors and one felony in a deal that would spare him further jail time. A judge ordered a presentence investigation.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota will pay a company $12,600 to clean up illegally dumped radioactive oil field waste found on the outskirts of the northwestern town of Noonan.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The money to pay Secure On-site Services will come from the state Industrial Commission’s abandoned well cleanup fund.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Officials about a month ago reported the illegal dumping of hundreds of radioactive oil filter socks in an abandoned building in Noonan. They said it’s the state’s biggest incident to date of illegal dumping of the tubular nets that strain liquids during the oil production process.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities don’t know who’s to blame, and the whereabouts of the building’s owner aren’t known.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The cleanup company said it will dispose of the filter socks at a radioactive disposal facility in Idaho.<\/p>\n

\u00a0MINOT, N.D. (AP) – Minot residents are deciding the fate of a proposed $39.5 million school bond measure.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tuesday’s vote is on a scaled-back version of a $125 million bond issue that voters narrowly defeated last December.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The revamped proposal would pay for construction of a new elementary school, additions at two other elementaries, and safety and security upgrades at all district schools. The owner of a home valued at $200,000 would see property taxes go up about $120 annually.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The bond issue defeated in December would have included a second high school, and would have raised property taxes about $465 annually on a $200,000 home. The vote was almost evenly split but the measure required 60 percent approval to pass.<\/p>\n

\u00a0MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) – Two minor league hockey players from Nebraska are being investigated by police in Minnesota for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old girl and recording it.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Court documents say two 18-year-old players from the Lincoln Stars of the United States Hockey League had sex with the girl at a Moorhead hotel Feb. 15 when the team was in town to play the Fargo Force. KFGO reports a search warrant affidavit says one of the players took a brief video of the encounter, which was circulated among other players.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A Moorhead detective traveled to Lincoln, Neb., to interview the two players. Their cellphones were seized as evidence.

PERTH, Australia (AP) – Search crews in the Indian Ocean haven’t been picking up any more of the faint underwater sounds they were hearing a few days ago. They were hoping that the sounds might be coming from the black box voice and data recorders from the missing Malaysian jetliner. But the batteries that send the signal from those devices are probably running out. The signals were heard Saturday and Sunday, but not since then.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 DONETSK, Ukraine (AP) – Ukraine’s government is struggling to stay in control of the eastern regions of the country. The government has managed to recapture its regional headquarters and detain dozens of pro-Russian protesters in one city. But it says “radicals” are keeping 60 people hostage in another city, and threatening them. In eastern Ukraine, there’s a lot of hostility toward the government that took power in February. The United States and its allies are worried that Russia will make further moves into Ukraine, following its annexation of pro-Russian Crimea.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 CONAKRY, Guinea (AP) – Health experts say it’s one of the most challenging outbreaks of the Ebola virus that the international community has ever faced. They say the disease could continue to spread in West Africa for months. A doctor with the World Health Organization says other outbreaks have involved more cases, but this one is remarkable for the wide area over which it has spread, crossing the border from Guinea to Liberia. More than 100 deaths in the two countries have been linked to the outbreak.\u00a0

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) – North and South America will be treated to a total lunar eclipse in the early morning hours of next Tuesday. And that might not be good news for a NASA spacecraft that’s been orbiting the moon since last fall. The robotic orbiter was never designed to withstand a lengthy eclipse, and scientists don’t know if it will withstand the hours of cold temperatures.
