Games"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/specialolympicsND.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-8770\" alt=\"specialolympicsND\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/specialolympicsND.jpg\" width=\"160\" height=\"160\" \/><\/a>Valley City (CSi) North Dakota Special Olympics District III Spring Games, wil be held in Valley City, at VCSU.<\/p>\n<p>Over 300 Special Olympics athletes, children and adults with intellectual disabilities, and Unified Partners from Valley City, Jamestown, Fargo, and Wahpeton, will compete in the one day event for the chance to be a District champion, on May 4, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Competition includes:<br \/>\n\u2022 Unified Volleyball<br \/>\n\u2022 Bocce<br \/>\n\u2022 Power-lifting<br \/>\n\u2022 Swimming<br \/>\n\u2022 Track and Field<br \/>\n*Unified Volleyball is one of four SOND Unified Team Sports. Unified Sports is a program that combines Special Olympics athletes and athletes without intellectual disability (Partners) on a sports team to train and compete together.<\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, May 4, 2014:<br \/>\nValley City State University Student Union<br \/>\nValley City State University Field House and Stadium<br \/>\nSchedule of Events:<br \/>\nSunday, May 4th \u2013 8:00 a.m. \u2013 Bocce and Unified Volleyball competition begins at VCSU Fieldhouse<br \/>\n&#8211; 9:00 a.m. \u2013 Swimming competition begins at VCSU Student Center<br \/>\n&#8211; 12:30 p.m. \u2013 Opening Ceremonies at VCSU Stadium<br \/>\n&#8211; 1:00 p.m. \u2013 Track and Field Competition begins<br \/>\n*All Events are free, and the public is encouraged to attend!<br \/>\nIndividual and Group Volunteer Areas and Opportunities include:<br \/>\n\u2022 Facilities set up and support<br \/>\n\u2022 Unified Volleyball timers and scorekeepers<br \/>\n\u2022 Bocce timers and scorekeepers<br \/>\n\u2022 Track and Field support volunteers<br \/>\n\u2022 Athlete meal preparation and distribution<br \/>\n\u2022 Awards<\/p>\n<p>To learn more about the District Spring Games or to sign up as a volunteer contact the North Dakota Special Olympics, Area Director Chris Mogensen: chris.mogensen@odcvc.com<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Valley City (CSi) North Dakota Special Olympics District III Spring Games, wil be held in Valley City, at VCSU.
