News Sept 24, 2012)\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0 Volunteers Monday, began the search for a camera SD card, in hopes it will give a clue as to what caused the plane crash that took the life of Bob Odegaard.<\/p>\n<p>At Valley City Airport, a grid was laid out to establish a search area, of the crash site.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Within the grid, searchers with metal detectors hope the instruments will turn up the card that was in the camera mounted on the plane, at the time of the crash.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The search will\u00a0start Wednesday morning at the Valley City airport and\u00a0if not found, will continue on\u00a0\u00a0on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Organizers emphasize this is not a \u201csouvenir hunt,\u201d but an effort to help the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) &#8212; The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports, a sobriety checkpoint and alcohol saturation patrol in Stutsman County last weekend netted several arrests for various offenses.<\/p>\n<p>A sobriety checkpoint was set up Friday night in Jamestown in the 1100 block of 19th Street Northeast. Authorities stopped both eastbound and westbound traffic between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. and arrested two drivers for driving under the influence.<\/p>\n<p>The Highway Patrol, Jamestown Police Department and Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Department teamed up for the increased enforcement, which resulted in:<br \/>\n&#8211; five arrests for DUI<br \/>\n&#8211; two arrests for driving under suspension<br \/>\n&#8211; one minor in possession<br \/>\n&#8211; one open container of alcohol<br \/>\n&#8211; one deliver of alcohol to a minor<br \/>\n&#8211; one possession of marijuana<br \/>\n&#8211; one unlawful possession of marijuana paraphernalia<\/p>\n<p>The saturation patrol included a sobriety checkpoint Friday night in Jamestown in the 1100 block of 19th Street Northeast. Authorities stopped both eastbound and westbound traffic between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. and arrested two drivers for driving under the influence.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>From VCSU\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Valley City, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) \u2013 A group of approximately 190 freshmen from Valley City State University will harvest fresh produce from an area farm that will be distributed to 278 food shelves, soup kitchens, shelters and other charitable feeding programs supplied by the Great Plains Food Bank, a program of Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota.<\/p>\n<p>The project is part of VCSU\u2019s &#8220;Learning to Live\/Living to Learn&#8221; (L2L) program.<\/p>\n<p>The event will take place from 9:00 am \u2013 11:30 am, Tuesday, September 25, 2012, approximately 10 miles north of Valley City.<\/p>\n<p>Each Fall semester all new students at VCSU take part in an orientation program known as Learning to Live-Living to Learn (L2L) in which upper class students serve as mentors for groups of new students and assist students in the transition to college.<\/p>\n<p>L2L topics include team building, orientation to campus services, adjusting to college, substance abuse issues, academic advising, learning styles, stress management, and paying for college.<\/p>\n<p>A component of the Learning to L2L program is a community service project that will allow the entire freshman class to participate as a group and make a significant contribution to the city or the region. In previous years, students have painted fire hydrants throughout Valley City and worked on flood clean-up efforts.<\/p>\n<p>For the third year in a row, the L2L community service project will involve harvesting fresh produce (primarily squash) from a local farm that will be distributed to food shelves throughout North Dakota. Last year, the project yielded approximately 25 tons of produc<strong>e.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; An 18-year-old woman who was charged along<br \/>\nwith her boyfriend and another man in a North Dakota counterfeit<br \/>\ncase has pleaded guilty in federal court.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Kasi Switzer, of Las Vegas, is accused of manufacturing and<br \/>\npassing bogus bills to several businesses in Watford City. Her<br \/>\nboyfriend, Shawn Patton, also of Las Vegas, and another man, Travis<br \/>\nLinseth, of Watford City, also are charged in the case.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Switzer is scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 20.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Watford City police had received complaints from local banks<br \/>\nabout the counterfeit bills. Switzer allegedly passed a phony $50<br \/>\nbill to a pizza food truck in Watford City.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say a search of a residence shared by Patton and<br \/>\nSwitzer yielded evidence, including copy paper, rubber cement,<br \/>\ncolor printer cartridges, printer and paper trimmer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0WATFORD CITY, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Classes are slated to resume next week<br \/>\nat a rural school in western North Dakota that was damaged when a<br \/>\nsemitrailer ran into it in a deadly crash.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Rev. Adrian Timmons says \u00a0students at the Johnson Corners<br \/>\nChristian Academy will attend classes in the part of the building<br \/>\nthat wasn&#8217;t damaged in the Sept.17 crash.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say the semitrailer that crashed into the first<br \/>\ncollided with a car that failed to yield at the intersection.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the car was killed.<\/p>\n<p>Three students, a teacher and the semi driver were treated for minor injuries.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Timmons says the crash damaged about half of the school<br \/>\nbuilding. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota&#8217;s oil tax &#8220;Legacy Fund&#8221; now<br \/>\nhas $535 million in assets.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In its 13 months of existence, the fund has collected more than<br \/>\na half-billion dollars.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 North Dakota voters approved the fund in 2010.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It gets 30 percent of the state&#8217;s oil tax collections. None of<br \/>\nthe money can be spent until 2017, and even then it takes a<br \/>\ntwo-thirds vote of the Legislature to dip into it.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 North Dakota Treasurer Kelly Schmidt says $45 million was<br \/>\ndeposited into the fund this month.
