\u00a0Valley City, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) \u2014 A memory card from a camera attached to Bob Odegaard\u2019s plane was recovered by searchers with metal detectors, during a search on Wednesday (Sept 26, 2012).<\/p>\n

The memory card will be used to possibly give clues to what led to the crash on September 7, 2012, that took the life of Odegaard while he was practicing for the Valley City air show that was to be held the next day.<\/p>\n

The search team of 10 individuals found the memory card about 50 feet from the crash site at\u00a0Barnes\u00a0County\u00a0Municipal Airport.<\/p>\n

Barnes County Airport Authority Chairman, Dennis Helland says the memory card was given to the Odegaard family.<\/p>\n

The card will be given to Federal Aviation Administration officials as the investigation into the crash continues.<\/p>\n

Former North Dakota National Guard commander Mike Haugen was a longtime friend of Odegaard’s, and he helped to look for the card.<\/p>\n

Haugen says the crash probe will take a long time to finish.<\/p>\n

He says it will include an autopsy and an analysis of the plane’s wreckage.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, ND\u00a0 (KCSi-T.V. News Sept 26, 2012)\u00a0 \u2013\u00a0\u00a0 The State Historical Society of North Dakota received four bids for the mold\/asbestos\/lead base paint abatement for the basement at the Historic Stutsman County Courthouse in Jamestown, ND.<\/p>\n

MAVO Systems of Mandan is the successful low bidder and will begin work at the courthouse on Oct. 1, 2012. The total contract for the work is $141,368.<\/p>\n

The project is possible through a combination of state and private funding. This continues the partnership between the 1883 Courthouse Committee and the State Historical Society of North Dakota to ensure the preservation and adaptive reuse of this outstanding architectural style.<\/p>\n

The Historic Stutsman County Courthouse was constructed in 1883 and is one of only two remaining brick courthouses of the Gothic Revival Style (Griggs County Courthouse is the second).<\/p>\n

Plans for the building were funded by Anton Klaus, the \u201cFather of Jamestown,\u201d and it was intended to be a monument to the enterprise of the citizens.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Barbara Lang of the Historic Stutsman County Courthouse Preservation Committee stated, \u201cWe are delighted to see this project move forward and to have this marvelous structure continue to be a monument to the people.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Historic Stutsman County Courthouse Committee has committed $58,900 toward the project with the remainder of the funds coming from the state.<\/p>\n

Merlan Paaverud, director of the State Historical Society of North Dakota, stated, \u201cThese partnerships make projects feasible and show the local commitment to the preservation of all too rare historic properties that are irreplaceable.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Other projects completed in the courthouse this summer by the State Historical Society include the removal of temporary electrical wiring, installation of new power sources in the basement, a concrete wall for better fire separation, and landscaping and re-grading the grounds of the courthouse to prevent moisture seepage into the building.<\/p>\n

Jamestown, ND (KCSi- T.V. News) \u2013 The Jamestown Arts Center is holding its second annual Oktoberfest at the Stutsman County Fairgrounds, on Saturday September 29, 2012, from 5-p.m., to 8-p.m.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show, on CSi Cable 2, Arts Center Director Taylor Barnes said, all day, the activities include, family participation events, the homemade beer contest, Oktoberfest style beers, and food.<\/p>\n

Tickets are available at the Jamestown Arts Center.<\/p>\n

Proceeds from Oktoberfest go to support programs at The Jamestown Arts Center.<\/p>\n

Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — The Jamestown Arts Center is hosting Caravanserai, as the community is invited to discover the musical Soul of Morocco\u2019s Heartland.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday\u2019s (Sept 26, 2012) Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Arts Center Director, Taylor Barnes said the caravan arrives in Jamestown in October, and is planning future Jamestown vistis, through April of 2013.<\/p>\n

She said, Caravanserai is a place where cultures meet, with an artistic exchange program, meant to show the diversity of contemporary Islamic societies through their art, and enhance mutual understanding of out cultures.<\/p>\n

The traveling group will be at various Jamestown locations including schools from October 7-14, 2012.<\/p>\n

The artists will be engaged throughout the week, working with students at Jamestown Middle School, High School, and Jamestown College, and meeting with several community groups<\/p>\n

A public performance is set for Thursday October 11, 2012, at 7:30-p.m., at the Jamestown High School, theater. Tickets at the door, only, are $10 for adults, $7 for Arts Center members, and kids will be admitted, free.<\/p>\n

Caravanseai is produced by Arts Midwest, on behalf of the U.S. Regional Arts Organizations, with leadership support from the Building Bridges Program of the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art.<\/p>\n

\u00a0CANDO, N.D. (AP) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol has released
\nthe names of a man and woman from Belcourt who were killed Tuesday
\nafter their car collided with a semi-truck about 13 miles west of
\nCando.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The patrol says 24-year-old Dillion Azure was driving the car
\neast on North Dakota Highway 17 about 9 a.m. when he failed to
\nnegotiate a curve and struck the rear tires of the semi-truck with
\nan empty hay rack trailer.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Azure and one passenger, 19-year-old Calleen Belgarde, were
\nkilled. Azure was not wearing a seatbelt and it’s not known if
\nBelgarde was.<\/p>\n

Another 19-year-old female passenger was flown to Trinity Hospital in Minot.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The truck driver was not injured.<\/p>\n

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A Bismarck man is accused of breaking into
\na home by smashing a window.
\n\u00a024-year-old Harold Harlan Jr. was charged Tuesday with felony criminal
\ntrespass.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A judge set bond for Harlan at $5,000 cash.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bismarck police say a strange noise woke a 57-year-old woman and
\na 91-year-old woman who live in the home.<\/p>\n

The women went to investigate and discovered a man standing in their porch.<\/p>\n

The 57-year-old woman called police to report the incident and said
\nthey were afraid.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police say officers found Harlan sitting inside the porch,
\nholding up a large shard of glass in his bloodied hands.<\/p>\n

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A Belcourt man has pleaded guilty to
\ninvoluntary manslaughter in a crash that killed a woman on Turtle
\nMountain Indian Reservation.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon says 30-year-old Kolman J. Gourneau
\nfaces a maximum penalty of eight years in federal prison and a
\n$250,000 fine.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say Gourneau was intoxicated when he left a Belcourt
\nbar last October and struck a woman with his vehicle. The woman
\ndied from her injuries.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sentencing is slated for Jan. 7 in Bismarck.<\/p>\n

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Future North Dakota college students will
\nhave to meet tougher entrance requirements.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The state Board of Higher Education on Wednesday approved the
\nmore stringent standards. Chancellor Ham Shirvani says they will
\ntake full effect for students who enroll in 2015. They won’t apply
\nto students who are in college now.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The plan will use a formula to decide whether a student is
\neligible to go to a North Dakota college. It will use high school
\ngrades, course work and ACT test scores. North Dakota resident
\nstudents will get a small bonus.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Board members approved the changes unanimously.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Some students at Minot State University protested the change.
\nThey say some elements of the plan will raise tuition costs for
\nCanadian students, and they may enroll elsewhere.<\/p>\n

\u00a0MANDAN, N.D. (AP) – Residents within Mandan’s public school
\ndistrict have overwhelmingly approved a $12.5 million bond issue to
\nbuild a new elementary school to deal with anticipated enrollment
\ngrowth in the region.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The measure passed Tuesday with 78.3 percent approval of the 2,581
\npeople who voted.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Superintendent Mike Bitz says the goal is to have the new school
\nopen by August 2014.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The new kindergarten through fifth-grade elementary school
\nbuilding will be located on land the district has owned for nearly
\n30 years.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bitz said the school will be similar in size to Mandan’s Mary
\nStark and Roosevelt elementary schools, which serve about 260
\nstudents each.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bismarck and nearby Lincoln also are slated to a new elementary
\nschool and Bismarck is getting another high school.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota’s Board of Higher Education
\nwill be considering policy changes that would give more authority
\nto the new university system chancellor.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The board is meeting in Bismarck on Wednesday.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Under the changes, new chancellor Ham Shirvani (shur-VAH’-nee)
\nwould have the right to fire or suspend a North Dakota college
\npresident for misconduct.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The current policy says only the board has the power to dismiss
\na president.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The chancellor would be put in charge of any search for a new
\ncollege president.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He would also have authority to fire the chief financial officer
\nor internal auditor at any college in North Dakota’s university
\nsystem.<\/p>\n

Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — The Roughrider Association champions will be determined at a three day rodeo event in Jamestown.<\/p>\n

Top rodeo riders in the region will compete in the full rodeo, with a dozen events including those 18 and younger.<\/p>\n

The rodeo is set for the Jamestown Civic Center September 21, 22 and 23, 2012, at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday.<\/p>\n

Civic center, manager, Pam Fosse says the rodeo replaces the Bull-A-Rama.<\/p>\n

The RRA finals was previously held in Devils Lake, and this year is the first in Jamestown.<\/p>\n

From North Dakota University System<\/p>\n

BISMARCK ND (KCSi-T.V. News Sept 26, 2012) \u2013 North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem on behalf of the State of North Dakota Wednesday signed a final agreement with the National Collegiate Athletic Association that will officially return the University of North Dakota to full compliance with NCAA policies.<\/p>\n

The agreement specifies details of items that may remain in the Ralph Engelstad Arena and the adjacent Betty Englestad Sioux Center at UND and those that must be removed.<\/p>\n

“We truly appreciate Attorney General Stenehjem\u2019s efforts and would like to thank him for his diligence in bringing this issue to a collaborative conclusion that allows us to move forward in a positive way,” said Duaine Espegard, president of the State Board of Higher Education.<\/p>\n

The agreement states that the items currently located at the Engelstad Arena and Center may remain indefinitely, except for the carpet, which must be replaced and the end of its useful life, and the outside “Home of the Fighting Sioux” signage, which must be replaced as soon as practicable.<\/p>\n

In addition, a commemorative wall depicting the history of the Sioux Nation and its contribution to UND and the State of North Dakota will be established in the facility with no concerns about violating NCAA policies. The Sioux Nation will be consulted in developing the commemorative wall.<\/p>\n

“We would also like to give credit and thanks to our past Board President Grant Shaft and the entire State Board of Higher Education for leading us through the many challenges we faced regarding this issue,” said Ham Shirvani, chancellor of the North Dakota University System. “We are pleased to bring this matter to closure.”<\/p>\n

\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) – A mystery benefactor is giving money to help
\nkeep the Scheels Arena in Fargo stay afloat.
\n\u00a0Metro Sports Foundation, which operations the arena, made the announcement Wednesday morning.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The foundation owes approximately $23 million in debt. The arena
\nwas built in 2008 for a price of $25 million. The foundation has
\nstruggled to generate revenue to pay down the debt while meeting
\noperating expenses.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The amount the benefactor is donating and the donor’s name have
\nnot been released.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 As part of the deal, the donor wants the foundation to have the
\noption of buying the arena back from the Fargo Park District, the
\ncurrent owner.<\/p>\n

NEW YORK (AP) – The clock may be winding down on the NFL
\nreferees’ lockout.<\/p>\n

Several reports say the NFL and the union are
\nclose to an agreement that would let the league’s regular officials
\nreturn to work — perhaps as early as this weekend.<\/p>\n

The NFL isn’t confirming that a deal is near.<\/p>\n

The outrage over blown calls by the substitute refs intensified Monday night with a game-winning touchdown that the league admitted should have been called back on a penalty.<\/p>\n

\nprofiting from companies that shipped jobs to China. Obama and

The Army’s top enlisted soldier says the day will focus on
\nmaking sure that troops and their families know what programs are
