RAIN<br \/>\n\u00a0AMOUNTS OF UP TO 1 INCH MAY OCCUR.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) 19 year old Robert Flores, a former University of Jamestown student was sentenced to serve 65 days in the Stutsman County Correctional Center for terrorizing.<\/p>\n<p>Southeast District Court Judge Thomas Merrick, sentenced Flores to 72 days, with credit given for seven days served.<\/p>\n<p>Flores will not be entitled to work release, and the court waived all fines and fees. Flores will also keep the right to vote and hold any future public office, except during his time in jail. No probation was ordered.<\/p>\n<p>Terrorizing is a Class C felony with a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.<\/p>\n<p>Flores, originally from Southgate, California, and now residing in Valley City, was found guilty on April 22, 2014, of terrorizing by a 12-person jury in Southeast District Court in Jamestown April 22, and was sentenced on Tuesday this week.<\/p>\n<p>Flores was accused of threatening to kill and drink the blood of three University of Jamestown students in satanic rituals. The alleged threats resulted in the university being placed on lockdown for about an hour on November 7, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Flores was found later that morning in downtown Jamestown and taken into custody.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>(CSi) Farm Rescue has received a grant for $445,564 from The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust.<\/p>\n<p>The trust has pledged $190,000 over the next three years in the form of a 2-to-1 matching grant as a challenge for Farm Rescue to broaden its base of support.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Farm Rescue founder and President, Bill Gross states that it\u2019s the largest multi-year funding Farm Rescue has received since its inception, and Farm Rescue will use the grant for strategic and development planning and creating a development officer position.<\/p>\n<p>New donations will be matched 2-to-1, and donations as a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization to Farm Rescue are tax-deductible to the maximum extent allowed by law.<\/p>\n<p>Gross expressed his appreciation to the trust for assisting Farm Rescue.<\/p>\n<p>Farm Rescue is a nonprofit organization that provides free planting, harvesting and haying assistance to farm families who have experienced a major illness, injury or natural disaster.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0 Service men and women who gave their lives serving their country will be remembered on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 2014 in a ceremony at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 9 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>After the program and naval ceremony at the Nickeus Park bridge, local service groups will be visiting all of\u00a0the five Jamestown \u00a0cemeteries and the Veteran\u2019s Memorial Wall, and then to the All Vets Club for a free luncheon.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0NAPOLEON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Residents of Napoleon are trying to figure out what to do about a high water table caused by heavy rains and a rising lake near the town.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The excess water has led to chronic basement flooding around town. Mayor Kyle Haas says more than 75 homes are now running sump pumps. (AP) &#8211; A judge has refused to review bail for a Moorhead, Minnesota, man accused in a Fargo homicide case.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Forty-six-year-old Arlen Clapper and his children, 19-year-old Alexander Clapper and 22-year-old Tamara Clapper, are charged in the March 14 stabbing death of 26-year-old Rolandas House in Fargo.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bail for all three clappers was set at $1 million each.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A fourth defendant, 19-year-old Wade Garrett of Fargo, pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to 24 years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A Tucson, Arizona, man accused of robbing a Bismarck bank has been charged with felony theft.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Thirty-seven-year-old Sean Nichols appeared in court Wednesday. He was arrested Tuesday evening, just hours after the robbery at Dakota Community Bank.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say Nichols entered the bank and demanded cash, fleeing on foot with an undisclosed amount. He did not display a weapon.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Judge Gail Hagerty in Burleigh County set his bond at $20,000. Court records do not list an attorney for Nichols.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The charge carries a maximum sentence of 5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The first sentence has been handed down in an online sex trafficking sting on the North Dakota oil patch that resulted in more than a dozen arrests.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 U.S. District Judge Daniel Hovland on Tuesday sentenced 34-year-old Clayton Lakey, of Billings, Montana, to five years in prison, to be followed by 10 years of supervised release. Lakey must register as a sex offender.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lakey had pleaded guilty in federal court to coercion and enticement of a minor.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say Lakey agreed to pay for sex with a person he thought was a juvenile. He was arrested at a Dickinson hotel.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The investigation known as &#8220;Operation Vigilant Guardian&#8221; was centered in Dickinson and Williston in October and November.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A spokesman with the federal public defender&#8217;s office was not immediately available for comment.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota Governor Jack Dalrymple (DAHL&#8217;-rimp-ul) has asked agencies to stick to their current spending plans when crafting new budgets for the next two years.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dalrymple addressed agency administrators on Wednesday at the state Capitol in Bismarck.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dalrymple says the guidelines apply to ongoing state programs. (AP) &#8211; A Fargo judge says an agreement that allows North Dakota State University police to issue citations off campus is valid.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The issue was raised by Fargo attorney Charley Sheeley last month when he asked East Central District Judge Thomas Olson to throw out evidence in a DUI arrest made a few blocks from NDSU&#8217;s downtown campus.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sheeley argued that the pact between NDSU and the city conflicts with state law and amounts to state taxpayers boosting the city&#8217;s coffers with money from fines.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The head of the U.S. Census Bureau says challenges need to be addressed to ensure an accurate count of North Dakota&#8217;s oil patch in the next census.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Director John Thompson visited Williston on Wednesday.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tens of thousands have arrived in the oil patch in the past five years. But Williston Mayor Ward Koeser says many living in the area didn&#8217;t want to be counted as North Dakota residents in the 2010 census. He says people were afraid they would lose privileges in their home states.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Koeser and Thompson say more education on the bureau&#8217;s duties is needed to combat the problem. Thompson says the bureau&#8217;s job is only to count. He says people who identify themselves as living in North Dakota will not lose rights at home.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>MINOT, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The Minot City Council has directed city staff to organize a plan to clean up properties that have been neglected or abandoned in the wake of the devastating 2011 Souris River flood.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The city also is dedicating $74,000 in sales tax money to immediately clean up the worst of the properties.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The moves came after a community group submitted petitions with more than 1,000 signatures asking the city to do something about the so-called &#8220;zombie homes.&#8221; Boarded-up, mold-ridden and debris-infested properties still dot the city three years after the historic flood.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A North Dakota company is planning a liquefied natural gas processing facility in Tioga, in the northwestern part of the state.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tioga-based North Dakota LNG says the fuel will be used to offset the use of diesel during oil drilling operations.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 CEO Pat Hughes says operations will begin this summer. He would not disclose the cost of the facility but says it will employ up to 30 people.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The plant is slated to produce up to 76,000 gallons of liquefied natural gas daily by early next year.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hughes says that amount of LNG would displace about 44,000 gallons of diesel daily.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hughes says a typical drill rig uses up to 2,500 gallons of diesel daily.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The North Dakota Department of Health says outdoor enthusiasts should take some precautions before tick season this year.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The department says areas that are heavily wooded or have tall grass or brush are more likely to be infested, especially between April and September.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It&#8217;s recommended that those spending time outdoors this tick season wear light-colored clothing and long pants, and also tuck their shirts in.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Applying insect repellant that contains DEET to clothes and exposed skin can also help prevent ticks, which can cause Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis or Rocky Mountain spotted fever.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If you find a tick, you should remove it promptly.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. He also walked 15 times and finished with an OPS (on-base plus slugging percentage) of 1.120.<\/p>\n<p>Anderson was also named to the all-conference team for the 19-29 Vikings.<\/p>\n<p>University of Jamestown\u2019s Tom Hager was named coach of the year after leading the Jimmies to a 35-8 record and NSAA regular season and tournament titles.<\/p>\n<p>Tanner Dahl was named pitcher of the year. The sophomore from West Fargo posted a record of 9-1 and an earned run average of 3.61. He worked 67 1\/3 innings, allowing 59 hits with 69 strikeouts.<\/p>\n<p>Landon Uetz, also a West Fargo native, was named freshman of the year. (AP) &#8211; Forward Rocco Grimaldi has agreed to an entry-level contract with the Florida Panthers. Grimaldi was drafted 33rd overall by the Panthers in the 2011 NHL draft. He led North Dakota to the Frozen Four this past season and was named MVP of the NCAA Midwest Regional.
