Valley City, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), has released it preliminary results, in the investigation of the airplane crash, that took the life of legendary Kindred, North Dakota aviator, Bob Odegaard.<\/p>\n

The report says, Odegaard was piloting his 1945 vintage Corsair aircraft that was about 100 feet above ground level, and then hit the ground in a 10-degree nose down, wings-level attitude.<\/p>\n

He was performing a barrel roll, when the crash occurred.<\/p>\n

Odegaard was killed September 7, 2012, while practicing for an air show that was to be held the next day, at the Barnes County Municipal Airport.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday this week, searchers found a memory card contained in a camera mounted on his plan, in hopes the images might help in the crash investigation, which is continuing, by the Federal Aviation Administration.<\/p>\n

Former North Dakota National Guard commander Mike Haugen was a longtime friend of Odegaard\u2019s, and he helped to look for the card.<\/p>\n

Haugen says the crash probe will take a long time to finish.<\/p>\n

He says it will include an autopsy and an analysis of the plane\u2019s wreckage.<\/p>\n

Anyone with photos, is asked to contact the Barnes County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

Photos may include the plane in flight, on the ground or during the crash.<\/p>\n

Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — The annual Jamestown Rotary Club\u2019s “Rose Sale,” is underway.<\/p>\n

On Thursday\u2019s (Sept 27, 2012) Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Rotary Club member, Qunicy Backen said, a dozen roses may be purchased from any Jamestown Rotary Club member, or any Jamestown soccer player by October 12, 2012, for a cost of $15 per dozen.<\/p>\n

The ticket(s) then redeemed on Saturday October 13, 2012, at either Don\u2019s House of Flowers locations, at 1107 7the Avenue, Southeast, or at the Buffalo Mall.<\/p>\n

Backen said the proceeds will go to support Camp Rokiwan, in cooperation with the Jamestown Kiwanis Club, and the “Book It,” program for elementary students.<\/p>\n

The proceeds will also go toward capital improvements at the Jamestown High School, Rotary Soccer Field, and the James River Family Y\u2019s, “Strong Kids,” campaign.<\/p>\n

\u00a0PORTAL, N.D. (AP) – Two Canadian citizens with felony warrants
\nfor their arrest were apprehended as they tried to illegally enter
\nthe United States by hiding in a railroad car.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The U.S. Customs and Border Protection office in Portal
\nannounced Thursday that 28-year-old Lorraine Houle and 23-year-old
\nJean Corriveau were apprehended last week after they were detected
\nby a Customs x-ray station.<\/p>\n

Authorities then determined the two had
\nfelony warrants in Canada and were in possession of drug
\nparaphernalia.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The individuals were turned over to Canadian Border Services
\nAgency and arrested by Canadian Pacific Railway Police.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A man accused of punching a police officer
\non the Standing Rock Indian Reservation has been sentenced to seven
\nmonths in prison.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bruce Flying Horse, of Cannon Ball, pleaded guilty in June to
\nassaulting a federal officer. Authorities say he struck an officer
\nin the chin while he was being arrested for a domestic disturbance.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 U.S. District Judge Daniel Hovland says the 23-year-old Flying
\nHorse must spend six months in a halfway house when he is released
\nfrom prison.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Flying Horse faced a maximum penalty of eight years in prison.<\/p>\n

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – The University of North Dakota’s president
\nsays he’s happy with a new settlement that allows the Ralph
\nEngelstad Arena to keep most of its Fighting Sioux logos.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Robert Kelley says the agreement between the NCAA and Attorney
\nGeneral Wayne Stenehjem removes the threat of NCAA sanctions
\nagainst UND’s athletics teams.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 UND dropped the nickname because of complaints that it was
\noffensive to American Indians. But there were still disputes about
\nthousands of Indian-head logos in the Engelstad Arena, where UND
\nplays hockey.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Under the agreement, most of the logos will stay because it
\nwould be impractical to remove them. Those that are part of
\ncarpeting will be removed when the carpeting is replaced.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The words “Home of the Fighting Sioux” will also be removed
\nfrom the building’s exterior.<\/p>\n

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – The North Dakota Land Board has awarded $4
\nmillion in grant money to enhance public safety in the state’s
\noil-producing counties.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The board on Thursday approved 66 grant applications to add
\nsupport for law enforcement personnel, firefighters and emergency
\nmedical services in counties experiencing rapid growth from the oil
\nboom.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The matching grants include $200,000 for a new ambulance
\nbuilding in Watford City and $125,000 for the city of Williston to
\npurchase fire suppression equipment.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The grants are part of the state’s $135 million Energy Impact
\nGrant Fund, which was created to help with issues created by the
\nrapid oil and gas development.<\/p>\n

\u00a0GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) – A Grand Forks maker of wind turbine
\nblades plans to lay off more than 300 workers.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The reductions amount to more than half of the work force at the
\nLM Wind Power plant. The company is based in Denmark.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A company statement says the layoffs are happening because
\ndemand for wind power development is down. Congress also may not
\nrenew a federal tax break that benefits the wind industry.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 LM Power says it will lay off 200 full-time production workers
\nin Grand Forks, 130 temporary workers and contractors, and about 15
\nadministrative staff people. They’ll stay on the job until the end
\nof November.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The company had 900 employees in Grand Forks five years ago.<\/p>\n

\u00a0WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) – A West Fargo BMX bike track is being
\ndisplaced by a softball field.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The president of the West Fargo BMX Association says members are
\nlooking for an alternative location for a new bike track.<\/p>\n

Wayne Larson says the group doesn’t have much money, and land is
\nexpensive.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The track has operated in West Fargo’s South Elmwood Park for
\ndecades. The BMX association held its last race at the park last
\nweekend. Larson says about 120 bikers use the track each week.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The city park district told the bike group three years ago that
\nthey needed to find another track.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0 district wants the land for a ball field that can also be used for flag football.<\/p>\n

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 UNITED NATIONS (AP) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
\nis warning that Iran will have enough enriched uranium to make a
\nnuclear bomb by next summer.<\/p>\n

Speaking before the United Nations\u00a0 Thursday, Netanyahu said the world must draw a clear “red line” to make Iran back down from its nuclear plans. He said it is getting “late, very late” to stop Iran.<\/p>\n

Netanyahu has repeatedly argued that time is quickly running out to stop the Islamic Republic from becoming a nuclear power and that the threat of force must be seriously considered.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 BEIRUT (AP) – Syrian opposition activists say rebel fighters
\nhave launched a new push to drive regime forces out of Syria’s
\nlargest city, Aleppo.<\/p>\n

An activist in Aleppo says heavy clashes erupted Thursday in more than a dozen locations in the city, Syria’s largest with 3 million people.<\/p>\n

Fighters trying to overthrow Syrian President Bashar Assad seized several neighborhoods of Aleppo two months ago, but neither side has been able to dislodge the other.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) – There are a lot of military service
\nmembers and veterans in Virginia, and both President Barack Obama
\nand Mitt Romney have been trying to win their support today.<\/p>\n

Romney said the defense spending cuts that are due to take effect in
\nJanuary — under a deal between the White House and Congress —
\nwould devastate the military.<\/p>\n

Obama said he’s helping provide returning soldiers with educational opportunities.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 WASHINGTON (AP) – Some Americans are worried about their
\nprivacy, if police start using drone aircraft to track suspected
\ncriminals.<\/p>\n

A poll by the Associated Press and the National Constitution Center found that a third of those who were surveyed worry that their privacy will suffer if drones like the ones used to track U.S. enemies overseas are used by U.S. law enforcement at home.<\/p>\n

The Federal Aviation Administration is working on safety
\nregulations that would clear the way for routine domestic drone
\nflights by 2015.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 NEW YORK (AP) – A prosecutor says a casino bus driver’s
\n“reckless behavior” caused a crash in New York last year that
\nkilled 15 people.<\/p>\n

The manslaughter trial of driver Ophadell Williams began today in a New York courtroom. Prosecutors have said the bus driver didn’t have enough sleep before the crash.<\/p>\n

Federal investigators have also said the bus company provided too little
