(AP) &#8211; Law enforcement officials located an 80-year-old woman in the western North Dakota Badlands after a search involving aircraft, horses, bloodhounds and all-terrain vehicles.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Dunn County Sheriff&#8217;s Department says the family of Virginia Hecker reported her missing Friday night.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Hecker had last been seen about 2 p.m. that day at her home northwest of Dickinson. Family members said Hecker often goes on walks around her property.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Searchers found Hecker about 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Authorities said she was disoriented and dehydrated but otherwise uninjured. She was taken to a Dickinson hospital for observation.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A Moorhead, Minnesota, woman has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for her part in the stabbing death of a Fargo man.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Twenty-two-year-old Tamara Clapper is one of four people charged in the March 14 death of 26-year-old Rolandas House, in what authorities have labeled a drug-related killing.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Clapper&#8217;s sentence was part of a joint recommendation by her lawyer and Cass County prosecutors.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Nineteen-year-old Wade Garrett, of Fargo, pleaded guilty to stabbing House to death and was sentenced earlier to 24 years in prison. Clapper&#8217;s father and brother are also charged in the case.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 House&#8217;s body was discovered near a grocery store on the city&#8217;s south side. Police say Garrett stabbed House multiple times.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A Seattle doctor accused of turning in phony Medicare claims that included reports of nursing home visits to patients who were dead is scheduled to appear in Fargo for a plea hearing and sentencing.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 John C. Chen is charged in North Dakota federal court with six counts, including health care fraud and false statements related to health care. The charges carry a combined maximum penalty of 45 years in prison.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The case is being tried in North Dakota because Fargo-based Noridian Healthcare Solutions LLC processes and pays Medicare Part B claims in Washington state.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say many of Chen&#8217;s claims for face-to-face appointments occurred when he was out of the country.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0WATFORD CITY, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The National Weather Service says the tornado that touched down at an oil patch worker camp was an EF-2.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Preliminary information suggests the winds reached 120 mph.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The weather service says a second brief tornado possibly occurred in the area based on eyewitness accounts.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The twister touched down about 7:50 p.m. Monday at a worker camp with 15 trailers just south of Watford City, about 50 miles southeast of Williston.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A 15-year-old girl, who was from out of state and visiting an aunt and uncle, was critically injured and is in intensive care at a Minot hospital.\u00a0 Eight other people were treated at a Watford City hospital for lesser injuries.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The American Red Cross says eight residents spent the night at a shelter and that several families were among those displaced.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Federal authorities say a prominent Jamaican disc jockey has been charged in an ongoing investigation into a lottery scam that has targeted elderly victims in the Dakotas and elsewhere.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Deon-ville O&#8217;Hara, also known as ZJ Wah Wa, is among 26 people who have been indicted by a federal grand jury in North Dakota. He is charged with three counts, including conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, and money laundering.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 O&#8217;Hara has yet to appear in court.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fifteen people were originally indicted a year ago. (AP) &#8211; A North Dakota man has been ordered to embark on a 100-day public campaign about the dangers of texting and driving as part of his sentence in a fatal crash.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nReports a judge on Tuesday ordered 21-year-old Nicholas Milbrandt to take part on the campaign and serve 30 days in jail.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Kindred man pleaded guilty to felony negligent homicide in the death of 61-year-old Royce Rodacker in August.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say Milbrandt was driving at over 90 mph while texting on his cellphone and rear-ended Rodacker as their cars were headed eastbound on Interstate 94.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Prosecutors say Milbrandt will speak to school groups and possibly appear in a television campaign.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Milbrandt&#8217;s attorney says his client is willing to do anything to spread the message against texting while driving.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0WILD RICE, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Residents opposed to a proposed Red River diversion project that would flood areas south of Fargo in times of high water say they&#8217;re worried about the impact on cemeteries in the area. The 36-mile diversion would move water from the north-flowing Red River around Fargo. (AP) &#8211; A committee screening candidates for a Bismarck-based judgeship is starting the process over, with the blessing of Gov. Jack Dalrymple.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The committee says it erred when it sent the names of two finalists to Dalrymple earlier this month because one of the finalists held an office with a political party at the time he applied. That violates North Dakota&#8217;s judicial conduct rules.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The committee took responsibility for the oversight, saying Brian Grosinger disclosed the fact that he was a Republican district vice chairman.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dalrymple has reconvened the committee to forward a new list of finalists to replace South Central District Judge Donald Jorgensen, who plans to retire on July 3.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The U.S. Department of Agriculture says good progress has been made in North Dakota planting as producers say they&#8217;ve got 67 percent of their corn crop planted and can now turn their attention to soybeans.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 All areas in the state are still behind their five-year averages, but the USDA says some are still faring well despite a rainy spring.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Farmers have planted 78 percent of sugar beets so far compared the average 92 percent. The department says 66 percent of oats are planted this year, compared to the 73 percent average.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 But producers have gotten only 19 percent of potatoes in the ground, compared with the 56 percent average, and just 13 percent of dry beans are planted compared to the 32 percent average.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The National Sunflower Association says sunflower planting in North Dakota is up from last year after a late start, but is still down compared to the state&#8217;s five-year average.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 So far the group says state sunflower farmers have gotten 13 percent of their crop in the ground, compared to 11 percent at this time last year.
