THERE COULD BE RISES ON LOCAL RIVERS\u2026AND USUALLY FLOOD PRONE AREAS NEED TO PAY ATTENTION TO LATER FORECASTS ON THIS HEAVY RAIN THREAT.<\/p>\n<p>ANOTHER SURGE OF MOISTURE MAY MOVE \u00a0INTO THE AREA BY MONDAY AND MONDAY NIGHT\u2026ADDING TO THE RAINFALL TOTALS IN THE REGION.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Forecasters say heavy rain and thunderstorms expected this weekend could cause some flooding along the James River Valley.<\/p>\n<p>Meteorologist Bill Abeling with the National Weather Service in Bismarck said early Friday afternoon that showers were lining up in western South Dakota from east of Rapid City through the east of Mobridge. He says they&#8217;ll likely trek between Bismarck and Jamestown and up through Grand Forks.<\/p>\n<p>Abeling says there&#8217;s an elevated risk for flash flooding, but the weather service is just watching the storm and has not issued any warnings.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown is in the area with the highest potential rainfall, with 3 inches expected over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) Authorities were called Friday morning about 9:30 to the 4<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue viaduct, when a storage shed being moved on a trailer became wedged under the structure.<\/p>\n<p>The driver of the vehicle towing the trailer\/storage shed, backed up to free the unit and was leaving when the police patrol arrived, and cited the driver for care required.<\/p>\n<p>The storage shed was extensively damaged but no damaged reported to the viaduct structure.<\/p>\n<p>(CSi) Law enforcement patrols are being stepped up on rural, city and state roads beginning June 1, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Their efforts stem from cracking down on impaired driving.<\/p>\n<p>The Jamestown, Southeast Regional DUI Task Force, will be participating.<\/p>\n<p>During the last DUI Enforcement in March this year, a total of 166 total citations and arrests were made.<\/p>\n<p>The Southeast Jamestown Regional DUI Task Force includes the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Carrington, Jamestown, Valley City and Oakes police departments, along with the Foster County, Griggs County, Stutsman County, McIntosh County, Barnes County and LaMoure County sheriff\u2019s offices.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>Los Angeles (CSi) &#8220;Fargo&#8221; the t.v show is in the running for the Critics\u2019 Choice Television Awards, category of Best Miniseries, tying with four other shows or movies for the most nominations this year.<\/p>\n<p>The nominations were announced Wednesday by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association.<\/p>\n<p>Along with &#8220;Fargo,&#8221; nominated for Best Miniseries were: &#8220;American Horror Story: Coven,&#8221; &#8220;Bonnie &amp; Clyde,&#8221; &#8220;Dancing on the Edge,&#8221; &#8220;The Hollow Crown&#8221; and &#8220;Luther.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The 10-episode FX series, inspired by the Coen brothers\u2019 1996 black comedy film, also received four acting nominations, including: Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman for best actor in a movie or miniseries, Colin Hanks for best supporting actor in a movie or miniseries, and Allison Tolman for best supporting actress in a movie or miniseries<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Fargo,&#8221; is seen on Tuesday evening\u2019s at 9-p.m., on CSi 40-FX.<\/p>\n<p>The awards show will be live on June 19, 2014, on CW, CSi Cable 37.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Gov. Jack Dalrymple has appointed Minot attorney Stacy Louser to a judgeship in the North Central Judicial District.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Louser is a partner in the Minot law firm of Louser and Zent. She will replace Judge William McLees Jr., who is retiring in late June after 30 years on the bench.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dalrymple says Louser has a strong work ethic and background in family law and mediation services, and is well-respected by her peers.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Louser has a degree in occupational therapy from the University of North Dakota, a master&#8217;s degree in organizational behavior from Minot State University and a law degree from UND. The friend, Khairullozhon Matanov (hy-ROO&#8217;-luh-zhahn MAH&#8217;-tuh-nahf), was arrested at his apartment in Quincy, Massachusetts this morning. In federal court in Boston, he told a magistrate judge he&#8217;s from Kyrgyzstan and said he could not afford an attorney. Nikki Haley is calling for an end to a Memorial Day motorcycle rally in the Myrtle Beach area, following a string of shootings last weekend that left three people dead. After meeting with area leaders Friday, Haley said the violence was not the result of a lack of law enforcement but an issue with the Atlantic Beach Bikefest event itself.
