CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION<br \/>\n30 PERCENT.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Police report that a 5 year old boy, Thursday was attended to, who was participating in the Jamestown Parks and Recreation program at the Jamestown Municipal Swimming Pool.<\/p>\n<p>Officer Jason Prochnow said the call came in at 1:50-p.m., of a boy at the bottom of the pool. He was pulled out by the male lifeguard on duty.<\/p>\n<p>When the police units arrived the boy was breathing and being attended to poolside by the lifeguard, and Jamestown Area Ambulance Service paramedics.<\/p>\n<p>The boy was responsive and talking when he was taken to JRMC for observation.<\/p>\n<p>Police continue the investigation talking to witnesses and those with the Parks Department program.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown Police was assisted by the Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) To mark the United Express\/SkyWest start up for Jamestown, a water cannon salute Thursday afternoon was given for their first arrival in Jamestown on with flight arriving at 12:46 p.m., directly from Denver.<\/p>\n<p>The Jamestown Fire Department provided the water cannon salute. Jamestown Regional Airport Manager Matt Leitner says a water cannon salute is tradition in welcoming a new service or saying goodbye to retiring crews and aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown Regional Airport Authority, Chairman, Jim Boyd says Jamestown again has a market share of the aviation industry, with passengers no longer needing to fly out of Bismarck or Fargo, and stay close to home.<\/p>\n<p>He pointed out that with Jamestown connected with the major Denver hub, residents can fly anywhere in the world from Jamestown, adding that the United Express\/SkyWest service is a &#8220;game changer&#8221; for the Jamestown area.<\/p>\n<p>He feels the addition of United Express\/SkyWest is an indication of &#8220;good things will come,&#8221; to Jamestown, in that, in a year or so United Express\/SkyWest will look at Jamestown boarding numbers and determine if Jamestown would be entitled to the larger 70 seat aircraft, and or more frequent flights.<\/p>\n<p>The current federal Essential Air Service contract and subsidy expires at the end of June 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown Regional Airport Manager, Mathew Leitner said Thursday\u2019s resumption of air service to Jamestown was &#8220;Over the moon, with a jet contrail.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s pleased that Jamestown now has premium air service from a major airling<\/p>\n<p>United Express\/SkyWest officials say that every flight is timed to provide extensive connection opportunities on hundreds of daily United Airlines flights in Denver.<\/p>\n<p>Customers flying from Jamestown and Devils Lake enjoy the added comfort of flying onboard the 50-passenger Bombardier-manufactured Canadair Regional Jet 200 (CRJ200). This event will be attended by representatives of federal, state and local governments and United Airlines and SkyWest officials.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Omaha (CSi) The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reports, that Jamestown Reservoir\u2019s flood storage is nearly evacuated with the pool elevation approaching the summer target of 1431 feet. Releases are being adjusted out of Jamestown and Pipestem Reservoirs accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown Reservoir releases were decreased from 500 cubic feet per second (cfs) to 400 cfs on Thursday, June 5, 2014. Jamestown Reservoir releases will be further decreased to approximately 300 cfs on Friday, June 6.<\/p>\n<p>The Pipestem Reservoir release will be increased from 5 cfs to approximately 50 cfs on Friday, June 6. The combined release will be 350 cfs through the weekend and the James River at Jamestown gage should drop approximately 0.9 feet.<\/p>\n<p>Next week Pipestem Reservoir releases will be increased to approximately 225 as the Jamestown Reservoir releases are reduced to match inflow.<\/p>\n<p>Pipestem Reservoir is currently at pool elevation 1460.6 feet which results in 18.5 percent of the flood pool occupied. Inflows are currently 60 cfs. Jamestown Reservoir is currently at pool elevation 1431.2 feet which results in 0.3 percent of the flood pool occupied. Inflows are currently 190 cfs.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the summer Jamestown Reservoir releases will be adjusted to match the inflow in order to maintain the summer target pool elevation.<\/p>\n<p>Pipestem Reservoir flood storage will be evacuated in June, July and August with a release around 225 cfs. The combined release will vary over the summer as Jamestown Reservoir releases are adjusted. All releases may change depending on rain.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The U.S. Department of Transportation is awarding Williston&#8217;s Sloulin Field International Airport a $1.8 million grant to rehabilitate its taxiway.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 U.S. Sens. John Hoeven and Heidi Heitkamp made the announcement Thursday.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The grant is the latest in a series of federal and state grants to North Dakota airports. The state&#8217;s Land Board awarded oil patch airports $8.9 million on Wednesday and the Department of Transportation granted North Dakota airports more than $18 million in May.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sens. Hoeven and Heitkamp hosted Federal Aviation Administration head Michael Huerta in Williston in April to push the case for more federal funding for state airports.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A number of North Dakota airports have struggled to keep up with the sharp rise in demand brought on by the oil boom in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u3000\u00a0By The Associated Press<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A Texas man who has maintained his innocence while serving 28 years in federal prison for the murder of a man in North Dakota has been released.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Richard LaFuente was convicted in the 1983 death of Edward Peltier of Devils Lake, North Dakota. He has been in a federal prison in Texas since 1986.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He was denied parole for the fourth time last July and the Minnesota Innocence Project appealed on LaFuente&#8217;s behalf. The U.S. Parole Commission reversed its decision and granted his release.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 His conviction has still not been overturned. The Minnesota Innocence Project says it will continue to try to prove his innocence.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The nonprofit legal group says some members of Peltier&#8217;s family who believe in LaFuente&#8217;s innocence have testified on his behalf.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The University of North Dakota has scheduled a groundbreaking ceremony for its new School of Medicine and Health Sciences.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The event is slated for Thursday, June 12.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The $122 million school will be built on an 8.25-acre plot of land at North Columbia Road and Gateway Drive in Grand Forks.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The state Legislature last year approved money for the project. (AP) &#8211; The nation&#8217;s top law enforcement official says the Obama administration is fulfilling federal promises to American Indian tribes.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder was the keynote speaker Thursday at a tribal conference on the campus of United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Holder says the Justice Department and the Obama administration have &#8220;fought to protect natural resources and water rights on tribal lands &#8230; and prioritized the resolution of longstanding legal disputes.&#8221;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He says the administration also has helped tribal authorities &#8220;combat violence against Native women.&#8221;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 North Dakota Attorney General Timothy Purdon says it&#8217;s the first time a sitting attorney general has visited Bismarck since Robert F. (AP) &#8211; The coach who led the Williston State College hockey team to back-to-back junior college national titles has resigned.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Seamus Gregory has accepted the head coaching job at Northland College, an NCAA Division III school in Wisconsin.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Williston State competes in the National Junior College Athletic Association. Gregory says his goal has always been to &#8220;get to the highest level that I can.&#8221;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Williston State hired Gregory after starting a hockey program in 2011. (AP) &#8211; One critic is dismissing Thursday&#8217;s report on GM&#8217;s delayed recalls &#8220;the best report money can buy.&#8221; GM hired an attorney to conduct the internal investigation that led to today&#8217;s report. GM&#8217;s CEO calls it &#8220;brutally tough and deeply troubling.&#8221; But Sen. Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut is suggesting the report is something of a whitewash. The officials say the threat was transmitted by officials from Qatar at the height of the negotiations. (AP) &#8211; A former investment adviser who vanished and was declared dead before his arrest has pleaded guilty to three counts of fraud. Under a deal with prosecutors, Aubrey Price entered the pleas today before a federal judge in Georgia. He had been scheduled for trial later this month on 17 counts.
