He was pulled out by the male lifeguard on duty.<\/p>\n<p>When the police units arrived the boy was breathing and being attended to poolside by the lifeguard, and Jamestown Area Ambulance Service paramedics.<\/p>\n<p>The boy was responsive and talking when he was taken to JRMC for observation.<\/p>\n<p>Police continue the investigation talking to witnesses and those with the Parks Department program.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown Police was assisted by the Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) To mark the United Express\/SkyWest start up for Jamestown, a water cannon salute Thursday afternoon was given for their first arrival in Jamestown on with flight arriving at 12:46 p.m., directly from Denver.<\/p>\n<p>The Jamestown Fire Department provided the water cannon salute. Jamestown Regional Airport Manager Matt Leitner says a water cannon salute is tradition in welcoming a new service or saying goodbye to retiring crews and aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown Regional Airport Authority, Chairman, Jim Boyd says Jamestown again has a market share of the aviation industry, with passengers no longer needing to fly out of Bismarck or Fargo, and stay close to home.<\/p>\n<p>He pointed out that with Jamestown connected with the major Denver hub, residents can fly anywhere in the world from Jamestown, adding that the United Express\/SkyWest service is a &#8220;game changer&#8221; for the Jamestown area.<\/p>\n<p>He feels the addition of United Express\/SkyWest is an indication of &#8220;good things will come,&#8221; to Jamestown, in that, in a year or so United Express\/SkyWest will look at Jamestown boarding numbers and determine if Jamestown would be entitled to the larger 70 seat aircraft, and or more frequent flights.<\/p>\n<p>The current federal Essential Air Service contract and subsidy expires at the end of June 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown Regional Airport Manager, Mathew Leitner said Thursday\u2019s resumption of air service to Jamestown was &#8220;Over the moon, with a jet contrail.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s pleased that Jamestown now has premium air service from a major airling<\/p>\n<p>United Express\/SkyWest officials say that every flight is timed to provide extensive connection opportunities on hundreds of daily United Airlines flights in Denver.<\/p>\n<p>Customers flying from Jamestown and Devils Lake enjoy the added comfort of flying onboard the 50-passenger Bombardier-manufactured Canadair Regional Jet 200 (CRJ200). This event will be attended by representatives of federal, state and local governments and United Airlines and SkyWest officials.<\/p>\n<p>Omaha (CSi) The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reports, that Jamestown Reservoir\u2019s flood storage is nearly evacuated with the pool elevation approaching the summer target of 1431 feet. Releases are being adjusted out of Jamestown and Pipestem Reservoirs accordingly.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown Reservoir releases were decreased from 500 cubic feet per second (cfs) to 400 cfs on Thursday, June 5, 2014. Jamestown Reservoir releases will be further decreased to approximately 300 cfs on Friday, June 6.<\/p>\n<p>The Pipestem Reservoir release will be increased from 5 cfs to approximately 50 cfs on Friday, June 6. The combined release will be 350 cfs through the weekend and the James River at Jamestown gage should drop approximately 0.9 feet.<\/p>\n<p>Next week Pipestem Reservoir releases will be increased to approximately 225 as the Jamestown Reservoir releases are reduced to match inflow.<\/p>\n<p>Pipestem Reservoir is currently at pool elevation 1460.6 feet which results in 18.5 percent of the flood pool occupied. Inflows are currently 60 cfs. Jamestown Reservoir is currently at pool elevation 1431.2 feet which results in 0.3 percent of the flood pool occupied. Inflows are currently 190 cfs.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the summer Jamestown Reservoir releases will be adjusted to match the inflow in order to maintain the summer target pool elevation.<\/p>\n<p>Pipestem Reservoir flood storage will be evacuated in June, July and August with a release around 225 cfs. The combined release will vary over the summer as Jamestown Reservoir releases are adjusted. All releases may change depending on rain.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>Valley City, ( CSi) Valley City Faith Lutheran Church has approved recommendations for a new church.<\/p>\n<p>The Faith Lutheran Church was destroyed in an arson fire October 21, 2013..<\/p>\n<p>Approval is from building and financial recommendations.<\/p>\n<p>The church\u2019s Finance committee chair Scott Johnson presented a proposed budget, with about 90 percent of funds used to build the new structure coming from insurance money and the land sale where the old church was located.<\/p>\n<p>The new building design and renderings were presented by building committee chairman Keith Hovland and the architectural firm, YHR Partners.<\/p>\n<p>The approval of the YHR Partners design for the new Faith Lutheran Church building is a single floor, with 12,700 square feet, with a sanctuary seating of 288, a fellowship hall, gathering space and offices.<\/p>\n<p>The council and the building committee hope to have the new church open in September of 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Council chairman, Tory Hart says it was a monumental night for Faith Lutheran Church.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi )\u00a0 The Daily Bread \u2013 Jamestown program announces the expansion of its program through the location of a food freezer at the MOST (Meaningful Out-of School Time) summer program.\u3000 This nine week program is held at Washington School.<\/p>\n<p>The Washington School MOST summer program is one of 13 summer programs offered through the South East Education Cooperative (SEEC).\u3000 The MOST program supports the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities during\u3000out-of-school time\u3000for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and\/or low-performing schools. The program helps students meet state and local\u3000education standards in core academic subjects, such as reading and math.<\/p>\n<p>Shelley Mansavage, MOST program coordinator, says,&#8221;We know that some of the home situations are such that these families would appreciate a helping hand in finding food sources.\u3000 As our children and their families leave for the day, we can encourage them to take this free food out of the freezer for their evening and weekend meals.&#8221;\u3000<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown Public Schools Superintendent, Rob Lech says, &#8220;The placement of the Daily Bread \u2013 Jamestown freezer at Washington school for the MOST program is on a pilot basis.\u3000 We want to see how this food program will integrate with our students and their families.\u3000 It is an intriguing solution to the hunger problem in Jamestown.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Bread \u2013 Jamestown program has been offering free surplus frozen meals at its first location, the Ave Maria Village for about\u3000three years.\u3000 This spring, the program expanded to include delivery of food to the James River Senior Citizens Center, two locations at the Community Action Centers and the Salvation Army.<\/p>\n<p>Tom Geffre, Daily Bread \u2013 Jamestown Steering Committee member, adds, &#8220;Our Daily Bread \u2013 Jamestown steering committee wanted to target families, especially families with young children. The MOST summer program is the perfect opportunity to make this happen.\u3000 We are very grateful for the support that we have received from the MOST program and the Jamestown Public Schools Administration.\u3000 The food is free, and there are no registration requirements.\u3000 We only ask that the individuals remember that there are others that also need the food.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Daily Bread- Jamestown program has recently added the Knights of Columbus Hall, Emma Rosie&#8217;s catering, TJ&#8217;s catering\u3000and the Quality Inn in Jamestown as food donors.\u3000 The Daily Bread is continuing to seek out additional food suppliers.\u3000 The mission is to have all available food rescued and used to feed hungry individuals in the area.\u3000 Local RSVP+ volunteers pick up the donated food and deliver it to our freezer locations.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Bread \u2013 Jamestown program is patterned off of the Daily Bread programs that have been operating successfully for years in Fargo and Bismarck, ND.\u3000\u3000 The federal &#8220;Good Samaritan&#8221; law protects the supplier of this food.\u3000 The kitchens that prepare this food must be ND Department of Health certified kitchens.\u3000<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0WAHPETON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A suspect is in custody in the armed robbery of a Wahpeton gas station.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police in Moorhead, Minnesota, on Thursday night arrested a 31-year-old man who they say confessed to robbing the Tesoro station in Wahpeton early that day. Investigators say the man gave them a detailed account of the robbery in which a man with a pistol demanded money from the cash register and fled with between $200 and $250 in cash.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The man was arrested at a Moorhead motel on an armed robbery charge. Authorities say they also recovered evidence tying the man to the robbery.<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The University of North Dakota has fired the director of the school&#8217;s Energy and Environmental Research Center.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The \u00a0university confirmed the move Thursday.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Gerald Groenewold had been placed on paid administrative leave in early May. He says the reservation holds a special place in U.S. history because Chief Sitting Bull lived there.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Obama says he&#8217;s worked to strengthen justice, infrastructure and health care for Native Americans. But he also laments high Indian poverty rates and says he wants to hear firsthand about their challenges. There are 60 teams registered to play, with an estimated 600 kids playing. Games will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and go until 6:00 p.m., then resume again at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, until 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The games are open to the public to watch at no cost.
