Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0\u00a0A testing last Thursday\u00a0 of water samples taking from\u00a0a Jamestown site,\u00a0has found\u00a0 no trace of coliform bacteria.<\/p>\n

Jamestown Utilities Operations Manager, Steve Suko says, samples from from Casey\u2019s General Store at 1003 13th Street Northeast in Jamestown\u00a0\u00a0in June this year,\u00a0 tested positive for the bacteria by the North Dakota Department of Health.<\/p>\n

Suko says nine additional samples were taken after the two positive tests. Four were taken in the store and five from surrounding businesses, with\u00a0 tests negative.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Water from that location will continue to be tested twice a month as part of routine water safety monitoring.<\/p>\n

The two positive tests prompted the Jamestown Water Department to send letters and run public notice advertisements alerting the public of the problem.<\/p>\n

Coliform\u00a0while harmless,\u00a0can be an indication of other potentially harmful bacteria in the water system.<\/p>\n

Residents were not\u00a0advised\u00a0 to boil their water,\u00a0however\u00a0\u00a0individuals with compromised immune systems\u00a0were advised to\u00a0consult with a physician concerning the risk.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) The U.S. Department of Labor is accusing a North Dakota company of forbidding federal inspectors access to a sand and gravel mine to investigate workplace safety complaints.<\/p>\n

The agency filed a lawsuit against Jamestown-based Northern Excavating Co. The document says inspectors were denied entry to the mine at least three times since May.<\/p>\n

Company owner Robert Lindberg did not return telephone calls from The Associated Press seeking comment.<\/p>\n

Court documents say the Mine Safety and Health Administration received complaints in April alleging several violations, including the failure to provide protective equipment for workers.<\/p>\n

Administration spokesman Jesse Lawder says the agency is awaiting a ruling by a judge on the issue. He says investigators may then turn to U.S. Marshals to gain entry into the site.<\/p>\n

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – Weekend storms caused heavy damage at a Missouri River recreation area south of Bismarck and injured people at a lake southwest of the city.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Several tents, campers and vehicles were destroyed by strong winds and falling trees at Kimball Bottoms on Saturday night. Wind gusts estimated at about 60 mph snapped some trees in half and tore others from the ground.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 No one was hurt at Kimball Bottoms, but three people suffered head injuries when hail the size of baseballs and softballs fell at Lake Tschida (SHY’-duh) Saturday night. The severity of the injuries was not known.<\/p>\n

(CSi) The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports, a 60 year old man has died whe he rolled his pickup west of Tolna on Saturday.<\/p>\n

He was westbound on Nelson County Road 24 and failed to negotiate a small curve and entered a ditch.<\/p>\n

The driver over corrected and came out of the ditch, losing control and then rolling into a slew,and was ejected.<\/p>\n

The unidentified man was later pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

He was not wearing his seatbelt.<\/p>\n

The accident is still under investigation by the Highway Patrol<\/p>\n

The name of the man is being withheld pending notification of family members.<\/p>\n

Steele (CSi) Authorities have identified three 19-year-old Bismarck men injured in a rollover Friday southeast of Steele in which the driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.<\/p>\n

Chad Tarno was driving west on 41st Street Southeast about 3 miles southeast of Steele around 12:30 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle, which rolled over in the south ditch, according to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n

The rollover threw Tyler Bonagofsky out of the car. Bonagofsky, who had been in the back seat, was transported with Tarno to Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck.<\/p>\n

The two men weren\u2019t wearing seat belts. The other passenger, James Barnes, did have his seat belt on and was also injured in the rollover.<\/p>\n

Police arrested Tarno on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. The Highway Patrol is still investigating.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0ESMOND, N.D. (AP) – Officials are investigating a death at a Pierce County lake.
\n\u00a0
\nAuthorities using boats and sonar on Buffalo Lake recovered the body of the 20-year-old swimmer Sunday. The search began after the man was reported missing late Saturday.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The body was sent to Grand Forks for an autopsy. Authorities did not immediate identify the man other than to say he was from Benson County.<\/p>\n

\u00a0ANTLER, N.D. (AP) – U.S. Customs and Border Protection reopened the U.S.-Canadian border at Antler on Sunday after water receded from Highway 256.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Both U.S. Highway 256 and Canada Highway 256 had been closed due to overland flooding.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The North Dakota Department of Transportation says the roadway is now safe and has been reopened for travel.\u00a0 The Lyleton, Manitoba port of entry operated by the Canada Border Services Agency also reopened on Sunday.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The state Historical Society voted in January to buy the homestead from Welk’s nieces. The purchase agreement was contingent on negotiated repairs being made to the property, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Capt. John Klug says there are numerous reasons for cutting off public access to police communications. They include the possibility of criminals using the information to avoid capture, and the possible public release of personal information such as names and addresses of people with whom officers speak.

Djokovic broke Federer in the final game to claim his second Wimbledon crown, and first since 2011.
