A FEW OF THE STORMS COULD BE SEVERE FRIDAY INTO<\/p>\n<p>SATURDAY&#8230;MAINLY ALONG AND EAST OF HIGHWAY 83.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0 The Jamestown City Fire Department was called out just after 4:30-p.m., on Wednesday to an 610\u00a0 11th Street Northeast, to a report of smoke. There was no fire, as the resident was grilling out on a deck.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) James River Valley Library System Board of Directors has reviewed options for the Alfred Dickey Library project.<\/p>\n<p>With existing Alfred Dickey Public Library downtown combiing with a brand-new addition, in an existing building to the north, the plan is to have staggered floors like a split-level home.<\/p>\n<p>The tentative design shows four levels, containing the main floor and basement of the existing Alfred Dickey, structure, and a street\/sidewalk level in the new building and an additional floor above that one.<\/p>\n<p>Still in the design stage is the bookmobile garage, with officials preferring a drive through unit.<\/p>\n<p>The library board also discussed the possible replacement for the presently used bookmobile, including costs, and options.<\/p>\n<p>No action was taken as officials will continue reviewing options.<\/p>\n<p>The library board is still looking for a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development, paying for 15 percent of the cost of the project, or $31,350.<\/p>\n<p>The board has about $75,000 to replace the existing vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) The planned Menard&#8217;s store in Jamestown will have building permits applied for as plans for the 158,000 square foot building have been submitted to the city.<\/p>\n<p>The store is to be constructed on 20 acres of land west of R.M. Stoudt&#8217;s, and will face I-94.<\/p>\n<p>There will also be a garden center and lumber warehouse.<\/p>\n<p>There will be parking for about 400 spaces.<\/p>\n<p>Menard&#8217;s can begintree removal on the site and preparation work before officials apply for a building permit.<\/p>\n<p>Menard&#8217;s, expects the Jamestown store to open in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>WAHPETON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; An Idaho man has been convicted of killing a man outside a strip club in the North Dakota oil patch hub of Williston.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n46-year-old Jonathan Horvath was found guilty Wednesday of murder, two counts of terrorizing and one count of reckless endangerment.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A sentencing date has not been set.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Horvath was on trial in Wahpeton, where the case was moved because of extensive media coverage in Williston. He&#8217;s accused of killing 28-year-old Derrick Spiegel of Williston in March 2013.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say Spiegel was killed on a sidewalk outside a strip club following an argument.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The reckless endangerment charge stems from Horvath allegedly firing into the bar. No one was hurt.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>GRAFTON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Police say a woman who reported a home invasion and shooting in Grafton shot herself in the leg.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 KFGO radio reports that the woman fired two shots in the Tuesday morning incident and the second round pierced her leg.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The woman tells police she doesn&#8217;t believe the intruder was armed.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police have interviewed neighbors and one person of interest in the case.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A man convicted for a drive-by shooting in Moorhead, Minnesota, nearly 15 years ago had second thoughts at a change of plea hearing in North Dakota on illegal weapons charges.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Richard Carillo is charged in federal court with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of an unregistered firearm. Authorities say he was in possession of a sawed-off shotgun.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Carillo appeared in court Wednesday for a change of plea hearing, but told a judge he wanted to talk to his family before making a decision. He is scheduled for trial on Aug. 19.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Carillo has several felony convictions, including one for shooting at a group of people in Moorhead&#8217;s Romkey Park in 1999. (AP) &#8211; Human remains found by a 10-year-old girl in Mountrail County have been returned to the earth after the state medical examiner determined the bones were likely from the 1500s or 1600s.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mountrail County Sheriff Ken Halvorson says his office was called to a field in the western portion of the county after the girl unearthed what she believed were human bones.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The medical examiner determined that the bones were from at least two people and had been buried for many years.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Once foul play was ruled out, Halvorson contacted the property owner, who asked that the bones be reburied on the property.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The remains were buried following a brief ceremony led by a member of the Historical Society of the Three Affiliated Tribes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota&#8217;s attorney general says school districts are stuck with any budgeting mistakes they make and fail to correct before Oct. 10 of each year.<\/p>\n<p>Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem says in a legal opinion that school districts can&#8217;t amend their budgets when a statutory deadline prohibits it, even if they are making the amendment because of a clerical or human error.<\/p>\n<p>The opinion was written in response to a request made by McLean County State&#8217;s Attorney Ladd Erickson.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; U.S. Sen.
