{"id":50346,"date":"2014-07-21T07:45:34","date_gmt":"2014-07-21T12:45:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=50346"},"modified":"2014-07-21T09:32:29","modified_gmt":"2014-07-21T14:32:29","slug":"motorcycle-ride-in-jmst-raise-awarenesssuicide-prevention","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=50346","title":{"rendered":"Motorcycle Ride Held Jamestown"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown (CSi) A motorcycle run was\u00a0held in Jamestown over this past weekend highlighted a women&#8217;s only event, and an awareness ride.<\/p>\n<p>For the fist time the annual women-only motorcycle tour started from Jamestown and had 155 riders this year.<\/p>\n<p>The ride in the past has been held in various cities across the state, along with South Dakota, Minnesota and Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Founder and co-organizer Kathy Enders said she&#8217;d like to see the event held in Jamestown again in the future.<\/p>\n<p>The motorcycle run started from Stutsman County Harley-Davidson at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, following a photo shoot at Frontier Village Saturday morning and a banquet at the Gladstone Inn &amp; Suites Friday evening.<\/p>\n<p>Also over the weekend, the first Jamestown motorcycle ride was held, &#8220;Silence the Stigma,&#8221; bringing attention to suicide prevention.<\/p>\n<p>Over 80 bikers, riders and drivers helped to raise funds for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.<\/p>\n<p>Ride Chairperson Margo Haut points out that part of erasing the stigma around mental illness and suicide is education.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday&#8217;s event raised $4,905, to be divided between the national chapter of the foundation and the local chapter, with local funds to be used to start a support group and to supplement education and prevention work at Jamestown High School.<\/p>\n<p>The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, a free, 24\/7 service that supports people who are suicidal or those around them, can be reached at (800) 273-8255.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown (CSi) A motorcycle run was\u00a0held in Jamestown over this past weekend highlighted a women&#8217;s only event, and an awareness ride.
