{"id":50427,"date":"2014-07-23T07:00:26","date_gmt":"2014-07-23T12:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=50427"},"modified":"2014-07-23T07:32:24","modified_gmt":"2014-07-23T12:32:24","slug":"jpd-pursuit-of-vehicle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=50427","title":{"rendered":"Nevada Man Charged, JPD Pursues Vehicle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown (CSi) A Nevada man appeared in Southeast District Court in Jamestown Tuesday facing charges related to a high-speed car chase through southern Jamestown Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>38 year old John Martin Rech Jr., of Reno, was charged with reckless endangerment, a Class C felony, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and driving a motor vehicle while under the influence\/refusal of chemical test, both Class A misdemeanors.<\/p>\n<p>Rech is being held in the Stutsman County Correctional Center, with bond set at $4,000 cash.<\/p>\n<p>During the pursuit, police vehicles reached speeds of more than 100 mph.<\/p>\n<p>The maximum penalty for a Class C felony is five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. The maximum penalty for a Class A misdemeanor is 30 days in jail and a $1,500.<\/p>\n<p>Reported previously&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Police Department pursued a vehicle through a part of Southwest Jamestown starting about 1:40-p.m.. Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown Police Chief Scott Edinger says the driver of the vehicle, 30 year old John Martin Rech of Reno, Nevada, exhibited &#8220;road rage&#8221; to an unmarked police vehicle, including an obscene gesture following a &#8220;burnout&#8221; on First Avenue South.<\/p>\n<p>The report says Rech went around the police vehicle and refused to stop when indicated to do so, by the police vehicle with flashing lights, and a pursuit ensued from the area Taco bell.<\/p>\n<p>The pursuit continued to Highway 281 South to the State Hospital road.<\/p>\n<p>Edinger said during the chase, Rech attempted to crash into police vehicles and members of the public.<\/p>\n<p>Rech drove back into city limits and was apprehended behind Dakota Engine Builders.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Edinger stated that officers were unaware that a five month old and a 2 year old child were in the vehicle during the chase. It wasn\u2019t immediately known if the children are his.<\/p>\n<p>Both children were turned over to Stutsman County Social Services.\u00a0\u00a0 They were\u00a0released back to their mother.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Edinger says, Rech has outstanding warrants currently in Reno, Nevada.<\/p>\n<p>No one was injured during the chase.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Reported Previously&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Police pursued a vehicle through Jamestown starting at about 1:40-p.m., Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The pursuit stemmed from an individual operating a vehicle that\u00a0would not stop for\u00a0authorities \u00a0in the area Taco bell.<\/p>\n<p>The pursuit continued Highway 281 south to State Hospital road, where the vehicle turned.
