(AP) &#8211; A 64-year-old Lisbon man is dead after crashing his small airplane near the southeastern North Dakota city.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Highway Patrol says the man was the only one onboard the plane when it went down in a wheat field 4 miles northwest of Lisbon about 7:40 p.m. Thursday. Authorities did not immediately release his name.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating. Spokeswoman Elizabeth Cory tells KFGO radio that the plane was a P-51 Mustang, which is a single-seat fighter plane used during World War II. Officials tell KFGO the plane was a replica.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Carrington (CSi) The Foster County Canvassing Board has reconvened to reconsider a previous decision to count the absentee ballots in the June 10, 2014 Primary Election.<\/p>\n<p>The board voted on whether or not the ballots would be counted.<\/p>\n<p>With Foster County Auditor Teresa Risovi not voting, the board passed the decision to not count the two unsigned absentee ballots.<\/p>\n<p>Not counting the two ballots will allow Donnie Theis, who was fifth in voting, to ask for a recount of the ballots.<\/p>\n<p>The Recount Board for Foster County will be meeting on Monday, August 4th.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A single mother in Fargo says she hoped to set an example for her 7-year-old daughter when she returned a wallet containing $1,000 that the two found while running errands.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sadie Hill and her daughter, Adalee, found the wallet Monday in a parking lot. Hill says she works two jobs to make ends meet and could have used the money, but felt that God was testing her.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hill and her daughter found identification in the wallet and drove to J. Pat Wigginton&#8217;s home to return it. (AP) &#8211; Federal court officials in North Dakota are warning of an email scam inviting people to fill out online forms for jury duty.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The subject line is &#8220;EJuror Program&#8221; or something similar. Officials say the email contains spelling and grammatical errors and asks for sensitive, personal information.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 All requests to complete a juror qualification questionnaire in federal court in North Dakota are sent through the U.S. mail. The official correspondence will have instructions for logging on to the court&#8217;s secure website.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Citizens who receive the phony emails are asked to contact the federal clerk&#8217;s office in North Dakota.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Bismarck police are marking the 20th anniversary of a woman&#8217;s disappearance with a renewed appeal to the public for information that might help solve the case.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Michele Julson has not been seen since she dropped her son off at his grandfather&#8217;s home on Aug. 2, 1994. She was planning to pick up her work paycheck but didn&#8217;t. Her car was found six days later at a hotel.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Julson was 26 when she disappeared. She is one of four open missing person cases in Bismarck.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A Minnesota man has pleaded not guilty to vehicular homicide in the traffic deaths of two sisters in eastern North Dakota.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n51-year-old James Yahnke (YAWNK&#8217;-ee), of Nielsville, Minnesota, is accused of being drunk and driving 94 mph on a rough section of a Traill County road north of Hillsboro in May and losing control of the car.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say Yahnke and the two women were thrown from the vehicle. Twenty-three-year-old Mercedes Rowley of Sharon and 21-year-old Teja (TAY&#8217;-tah) Beyer, of Red Lake Falls, Minnesota, died at the scene. Yahnke was hurt and flown to a Fargo hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Three pigs exhibited at the recent North Dakota State Fair in Minot have tested positive for a strain of swine flu.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The state Agriculture Department says results from the National Veterinary Services Laboratory show the pigs tested positive for the H3N2 influenza virus.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Officials say influenza can spread from pigs to people, but there is no evidence that any people have become ill due to exposure to the pigs.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 State animal health officials inspect all livestock displayed at the State Fair. Officials say the pigs appeared healthy when they arrived at the fair and became sick later. Their owners removed them after they were tested, at the recommendation of veterinarians.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 State officials did not disclose who owned the pigs or where they came from.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The North Dakota Health Department says a storage tank in Bottineau County leaked five barrels of oil and 260 barrels of saltwater into a ditch and a farm field.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Health officials said Thursday that the spill occurred about four miles southwest of Antler at a site owned by Murex Petroleum.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Officials say about 420 barrels of fluid from the site has been collected, which includes rain water from the area.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 State inspectors say samples have been collected for testing. Officials say the impacted soil at the site is being hauled to a disposal facility.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A barrel holds 42 gallons. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota&#8217;s congressional delegation says the state is getting more than $190,000 in federal funding to help communities handle hazardous material transportation incidents.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sens. (AP) &#8211; A monthly economic survey index for nine Midwestern and Plains states has slumped after hitting a three-year high a month earlier.<\/p>\n<p>A report issued Friday says the overall Mid-America Business Conditions Index dropped more than 3 1\/2 percentage points in July, to 57.0. The index had risen slightly in June, to 60.6.<\/p>\n<p>Looking six months ahead, the business confidence portion of the overall index also declined. It hit 60.0 last month, compared with 63.6 in June.<\/p>\n<p>The survey results from supply managers are compiled into a collection of indexes ranging from zero to 100. Survey organizers at Creighton University say any score above 50 suggests economic growth, while a score below that suggests decline.<\/p>\n<p>The survey covers Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma and South Dakota.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The North Dakota Ag Coalition has joined the opposition to a proposed ballot measure that would set aside more oil taxes for water, wildlife and parks projects.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The group represents more than 40 organizations with various interests in agriculture. It joins the North Dakotans for Common Sense Conservation group in opposing the proposed Clean Water, Wildlife and Parks Fund.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Conservation advocates want 5 percent of the state&#8217;s oil extraction taxes for the proposed fund. (AP) &#8211; The North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton is seeking to expand its Fargo campus at a cost of $65 million.<\/p>\n<p>President John Richman says the school is seeking approval from the state Board of Higher Education to request the governor include the project in his next budget proposal. Next year&#8217;s Legislature ultimately would have to approve funding.<\/p>\n<p>The college created its Fargo campus for workforce training 18 years ago and has since expanded its programming.
