\u00a0LISBON, N.D.\u00a0\u00a0The man\u00a0\u00a0who died in an aircraft crash Thursday evening\u00a0\u00a0in a wheat fieldnorthwest of Lisbon, North Dakota, has been indentified.\u00a0 KVLY News in Fargo reports that \u00a0\u00a064-year-old Larry Ketterling crashed into the field around 7:30 p.m., about 4 miles northwest of town.\u00a0
\nA small personal airplane suffered extensive damage to the front and underside.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating. The Ransom County Sheriff’s Department, Lisbon Police Department, Lisbon Fire Department were all involved in the crash response.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Valley City (CSi) Anyone with information\u00a0about \u00a0two Friday morning businesses in Valley City is asked to call police, at 845-3110.<\/p>\n

Valley City Police Chief Fred Thompson, reports, that between midnight and 7 a.m. Friday individual(s) entered Dietrich and Sons Bus Barn, at 815 14th Street, Southwest and Truck and Auto, 14th Street Southwest, taking items\u00a0or attempting to burglarize the businesses.<\/p>\n

Thompson says a floor safe at Truck and Auto was broken into with contents taken, that included an undisclosed amount of money.<\/p>\n

Items were stacked near Dietrich\u2019s exit door, including a large-screen television and hand tools, but were left behind.<\/p>\n

Thompson says it\u2019s possible the suspects were interrupted because of a shift change at a nearby business.<\/p>\n

Employees arriving and leaving the nearby business may have seen the crime, but were unaware a crime was taking place.<\/p>\n

Valley City police searched the surrounding area after being dispatched by Barnes County Communications, but were unable to locate any suspects.<\/p>\n

Thompson said it appears both burglaries were allegedly committed by the same person or people.<\/p>\n

The burglary and enter\u00a0remain under investigation.<\/p>\n

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) \u2013 Job Service North Dakota data show about one of every seven private sector jobs in the state are related to oil and gas production.<\/p>\n

Agency data also show that 28.5 percent of North Dakota wages come from the oil industry.<\/p>\n

Stutsman County has 136 jobs related to the oil field or about 1.5 percent of the workforce. The calculations are based on quarterly reports filed by employers in the second half of 2013.<\/p>\n

Stutsman County has 9,107 total workers in the private sector who are covered by unemployment insurance while Jamestown has 8,572.
\nThe report says every one of North Dakota\u2019s 53 counties has some oil- or gas-related jobs.<\/p>\n

That amounts to about 1.4 percent of the private workforce in Jamestown.<\/p>\n

The Legislature gave Job Service $120,000 to do the report.<\/p>\n

The site uses tele-medicine in the emergency room to communicate with doctors throughout the region so it can provide 24-hour services to its patients who don\u2019t live near hospitals.<\/p>\n

\u3000\u00a0 BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A Bismarck man has been found not guilty of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old Bismarck girl.

\n29-year-old Ephriam Muchiri was found not guilty by a jury Thursday following the one-day trial. The jury deliberated 45 minutes before reaching a verdict.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Muchiri originally is from Kenya and has been living in Bismarck three years.<\/p>\n

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 38-year-old Keith Graves was arrested Friday and is being held at the Williams County jail. He faces several charges including gross sexual imposition, promoting prostitution and terrorizing.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Court documents say the alleged crimes occurred late last month in Williston.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A bond hearing is set for Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n

\u00a0MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – Prosecutors have charged a man suspected of killing a Mendota Heights police officer with first-degree murder.
\n\u00a039-year-old Brian George Fitch Sr. also was charged Friday with several counts of attempted murder and assault for firing at police officers during a standoff eight hours after the killing.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fitch, of Mendota Heights, faces two counts of first-degree murder in Dakota County in the shooting death of Officer Scott Patrick.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Patrick was killed Wednesday during a traffic stop. Authorities arrested Fitch later that day after a manhunt. Fitch remained in serious condition Thursday with injuries he suffered during a shootout with police.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say they may never know the reason for the traffic stop.
\n\u00a0

\u00a0WAHPETON, N.D. (AP) – The North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton is seeking to expand its Fargo campus at a cost of $65 million.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 President John Richman says the school is seeking approval from the state Board of Higher Education to request the governor include the project in his next budget proposal. Next year’s Legislature ultimately would have to approve funding.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The college created its Fargo campus for workforce training 18 years ago and has since expanded its programming. The campus had 300 students last fall, and Richman tells The Daily News that enrollment in coming years is projected to reach as many as 2,000 students.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Richman says even if the expansion is approved, it’s likely that it would be done in phases over several years rather than all at once.<\/p>\n

\u00a0WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) – The dramatic population growth of the oil patch town of Watford City in recent years has driven demand for housing and commercial development.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 One of the area’s latest projects is being done by a New York company and includes residential and commercial space worth at least $65 million. Israel Weinberger with Coltown Properties says the development will add 325 apartments to the city.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 McKenzie County Economic Development Director Gene Veeder says about 2,500 housing units are currently under construction or are permitted to be built in the area. Watford City’s population was just 1,744 in the 2010 census but Veeder says current estimates put the population at about 8,000.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Veeder says the oil patch has attracted developers from as far as China.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) Foundation held its annual GOLF “fore” GOOD tournament on Friday, July 18 at the Jamestown Country Club with title sponsors The Davis Group, IRET Properties and Timco Construction.<\/p>\n

JRMC Foundation Director, Lisa Jackson says, “We could not have had a successful event without the support of our sponsors, community, vendors, staff and volunteers.”<\/p>\n

The tournament raised over $25,000 dollars to help JRMC live out its mission to be the difference in the lives of those it serves. The spokesman says the soldier’s disappearance, and the death of two other Israelis, is being used as a cover for what he calls a “massacre” of Palestinians.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 WASHINGTON (AP) – House Republicans are pushing legislation that could clear the way for the eventual deportation of more than 500,000 immigrants who were brought to the United States illegally as kids. GOP leaders are optimistic that they can get the support of conservatives for two bills that Republicans can highlight when they return home to voters during the five-week summer break. The suspension stemmed from his domestic violence arrest, after he allegedly struck his fiancee — who’s now his wife — in New Jersey in February. Goodell says the Baltimore Ravens running back has accepted responsibility for his conduct, and that Rice recognizes he made a “horrible mistake.”
