Police are looking to do a welfare check on her.<\/p>\n

Assistant Chief John Johnson says Baker owns a maroon Chevrolet Equinox SUV with North Dakota license plate EVN 611.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s described as approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds with shoulder length, dark brown hair.<\/p>\n

Officers began the search for Baker at 9 a.m. Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Johnson says her family and friends are concerned.<\/p>\n

Anyone who has seen or been in contact with Baker is asked to call Stutsman County Communications at 252-1000.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) A send off to the Mrs. America Pageant for Mrs. North Dakota, America, 2014 and Mrs. Jamestown, Eliza Potratz, will be on Friday August 15, 2014 at the Gladstone Inn & Suites in Jamestown.<\/p>\n

The community is invited wish her well and show support, as she will be leaving for Tucson, Arizona to participate in the Mrs. America pageant August 23-29.<\/p>\n

Pageant Preliminaries are scheduled for August 27 with the finals on August 29.<\/p>\n

The national pageant will be streamed online at<\/p>\n

A face photo contest is in progress at the website to cast votes for Eliza.<\/p>\n

Valley City (CSi) The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will increase the outflow from Baldhill Dam on Wednesday, to 1200 cfs.<\/p>\n

The Sheyenne River level will rise again after August 13.<\/p>\n

The release was cut back to as low as 50 cfs. to conduct a fresh water mussel survey in the river and perform gauge maintenance downstream.<\/p>\n

\u00a0DRAKE, N.D. (AP) – The Highway Patrol says it has identified the vehicle that struck and killed a Texas man on U.S. Highway 52 in North Dakota, along with the vehicle’s driver.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The hit-and-run incident near Drake on July 2 killed 51-year-old Carlos Price, of Houston.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say they have identified the vehicle as a semitrailer hauling fracking sand. They say the driver is a 54-year-old man from Cheyenne, Wyoming. The patrol has given the case to the McHenry County state’s attorney for possible charges.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The patrol says Price was walking along the highway about 2:30 a.m. on July 2 after the vehicle he and a woman were in went off the road and became submerged in water. The semi allegedly left the scene after hitting Price. The woman wasn’t hurt.<\/p>\n

\u00a0WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) – Police say a man beaten in front of a strip club in the North Dakota oil boomtown of Williston has died of his injuries.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Detective David Peterson says 25-year-old Dean Niederklopfer (NEE’-dur-klawp-fur) was taken off life support at a Minot hospital late Monday, after being beaten early Friday. Peterson says Niederklopfer is an “innocent victim.”

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police in an affidavit say witnesses observed 29-year-old Kyle Siler hitting Niederklopfer with a closed fist. The affidavit says a video seen by police shows Siler’s girlfriend, Jessica Gibson, filming the incident. The pair was apprehended in South Dakota late Friday.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Siler was arrested on an aggravated assault warrant and Gibson on a warrant for hindering law enforcement.

\u00a0GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) – A truck driver arrested last month at a border crossing between North Dakota and Canada is accused of possessing thousands of images of child pornography that was downloaded at various truck and rest stops.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Garold Miller, of Bridger, Montana, is charged in federal court with transporting child pornography using interstate commerce. He made his first court appearance Tuesday in Grand Forks, but was not asked to enter a plea.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities searched Miller’s truck on July 15 at the Pembina border station and found a laptop computer, three external hard drives and one flash drive. Officers say Miller also had an iPhone and six thumb drives.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The electronic devices allegedly contained about 26,000 still images and more than 800 videos of child pornography.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Miller’s lawyer was not immediately available for comment.<\/p>\n

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A woman on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation accused of taking advantage of a man with a brain injury has pleaded not guilty to a felony exploitation charge.

\n53-year-old Jeanette Blackcloud, of Cannon Ball, is accused of taking advantage of the man after he won money at Prairie Knights Casino in January.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say the man knew Blackcloud and contacted her because he wanted to buy clothes for her grandchildren. She allegedly took him to a bank to cash a $4,000 check, then took him to stores in Bismarck-Mandan and got him to buy things that were not for his intended purpose – including a $2,500 vehicle for her.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Blackcloud could face up to five years in prison if convicted.<\/p>\n

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fran Swensgard handed in her resignation letter Monday as superintendent of schools in Williston, located in the heart of the oil patch.

\nSwensgard’s letter to the board did not give a reason for her departure or a resignation date, but the board said it was effective immediately.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Board president Dave Rockstad says it’s not a good time for the resignation, but there are qualified people who can handle it. The board will ask school presidents to pick up the slack on day-to-day operations.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The district’s enrollment has increased about 40 percent over the past five years, to about 3,200 students.

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A new report says state employees in North Dakota have one of the richest health insurance plans in the nation.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The report released Tuesday from the Pew Charitable Trusts found that North Dakota state employees get 93 percent of their health care costs covered by insurance. The national average is 92 percent.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 That’s much higher than workers in the private sector or those choosing health plans under the federal overhaul.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The report also found that North Dakota is the only state in the nation that does not require premium contributions for single employees or those with dependents.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 North Dakota United President Nick Archuleta says the state’s generous health care plan is one of the few perks that help attract and retain quality public employee workers in the oil-boom state.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Football Boosters announce the signup for Jamestown Midget Full Contact Football, for all 5th<\/sup> and 6th<\/sup> grade boys.<\/p>\n

Jerald Roemmich said the signup is planned for Monday August 18, 2014 at the Hillcrest Softball Complex, from 5-p.m., to 6:30-p.m.<\/p>\n

He said that equipment will be handed out at the time of signup, and pointed out that parents or guardians must accompany the player to registration, needing permission and a signature to participate.<\/p>\n

The cost is $60 per player, and includes a football jersey, and the use of equipment. Scholarships available, for families unable to pay the cost.<\/p>\n

The date of the mandatory parents meeting will be announced.<\/p>\n

Teams will be assigned after the players have been assessed by their skills.<\/p>\n

Midget Full Contact Football will be on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30-p.m., to 8-p.m. (Please be on time to pick up your player(s) after practice and games.) Game nights are on Thursdays.<\/p>\n

FARGO, N.D. (AP) – The committee searching for North Dakota State University’s next athletic director has chosen seven candidates for consideration.<\/p>\n

The committee expects to narrow the pool before inviting candidates for on-campus interviews.<\/p>\n

Gene Taylor announced in June that he will be \u00a0leaving NDSU to take the No. 2 position in athletics at Iowa, with hopes of someday landing the top job at a Bowl Championship Subdivision school. NDSU competes in the lower-tier Football Championship Subdivision.<\/p>\n

The current pool of candidates to replace Taylor are: NDSU senior associate athletic director Troy Goergen, Colorado State senior associate athletic director David Crum, former Northern Iowa athletic director Rick Hartzell, Stony Brook senior associate athletic director Matthew Larsen, Idaho associate athletic director Tim Mooney, Idaho State athletic director Jeff Tingey and St. Bonaventure athletic director Stephen Watson.<\/p>\n

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (AP) – Sheriff’s officials say Robin Williams’ personal assistant found him with a belt around his neck at his San Francisco Bay Area home. Marin County Sheriff’s Lt. Keith Boyd also says superficial cuts were found on Williams’ wrist and a pocket knife was found nearby. Toxicology results on whether Williams had any drugs or alcohol in his system are weeks away. Williams was 63 and had suffered for years from periodic bouts of substance abuse and depression. Coroner’s officials say he was last seen alive at home around 10 p.m. Sunday.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 BAGHDAD (AP) – It’s one indication of the desperate situation facing members of an Iraqi religious minority who’ve fled to mountains in northern Iraq, seeking safety from Islamic militants. An Iraqi army spokesman says a military helicopter that was providing aid to those refugees crashed today, killing the pilot. The spokesman says the crash took place after too many civilians tried to get on board.

But a senior Israeli official says there are still large gaps between the Israeli and Hamas representatives taking part in indirect talks in Cairo.

(AP) – National Park officials say what appear to be three bodies have been spotted on Mount Rainier in the spot where six climbers went missing earlier this summer. The two guides and four climbers are believed to have fallen 3,300 feet during their climb on the last week of May.\u00a0
