He ran into right fielder Mike Kvasnicka after both of them ran full speed for a fly ball in the fifth inning.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Twins general manager Terry Ryan said on Thursday that the scary situation &#8220;turned out about as good as you could ever hope.&#8221; Ryan happened to be at the game and visited Buxton in the hospital after he was taken there for further evaluation.<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Previously&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>One of baseball&#8217;s top prospects was injured on Wednesday.\u00a0 Twins farmhand, Byron Buxton was taken off the field in an ambulance after an outfield collision in his first game for Double-A New Britain, Minnesota&#8217;s No. 2 minor league club.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Buxtonbyron2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-52137\" alt=\"Buxtonbyron2\" src=\"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Buxtonbyron2.jpg\" width=\"118\" height=\"78\" \/><\/a>The 20-year-old Buxton was motionless for several minutes on the field before he was carted off on a stretcher to an ambulance and taken to a local hospital. Twins general manager Terry Ryan said Buxton was unconscious for 10 minutes before he awoke in the ambulance.
