\"stabbing\"<\/a>Jamestown (CSi) Authorities are investigating a reported stabbing of a man, allegedly by a 39 year old Brainerd, MN woman, on Friday afternoon, about 2:15, during an altercation between the two,\u00a0at the Jamestown Lakeside Marina Campgrounds.<\/p>\n

A section of the campground was being kept off limits while investigators were at the scene.<\/p>\n

The 51 year old male victim, listed as from Moorhead, MN., was taken \u00a0by Jamestown Area Ambulance Service to\u00a0 Jamestown Regional Medical Center and then air lifted to Sanford Hospital in Fargo, where he underwent surgery, Friday, for wounds to his neck.\u00a0 Authorities say the wounds did not appear life-threatening.<\/p>\n

The female suspect was taken into custody at the scene, for attempted murder, and was being held at the LEC jail in Jamestown, awaiting formal charges.<\/p>\n

The pair were enroute to Williston, when they stopped with their camper at a campgrounds, site, Thursday night, purportedly not paying for the previously reserved spot.<\/p>\n

After obtaining a search warrant for the pop-up camper, law enforcement found nothing illegal.\u00a0 Authorities were then going to search the vehicle that pulled the trailer.<\/p>\n

The investigation\u00a0is continuing by the Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office, and the North Dakota Bureau of Investigation.\u00a0 Jamestown Police was also at the scene.<\/p>\n

Valley City (CSi)\u00a0 KLJ informs motorists that starting\u00a0 Monday, August 18, 2014, seal coat work\u00a0 begins on Paving Improvement District 104.<\/p>\n

The seal coat work will take approximately 1-2 days. During this time on-street parking will be prohibited within the project limits. Access to residential properties and businesses will be disrupted while the work is being completed in each project area; however, these should be minimal.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0\u2013 South Central Dakota Regional Council (SCDRC) has been awarded a Bush Foundation Community Innovation Grant of $121,500 to implement Regional Building Inspector Assistance.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are so excited. This grant allows the Regional Council to bring community leaders together to create a process that assures safe, quality buildings in our region,\u201d said Joseph Neis, SCDRC Board of Directors president.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo years ago representatives from across our nine counties held a planning session. One of the top concerns identified was the need for building inspector services. Without inspectors our cities cannot insure safe construction practices. This grant will allow our communities to work together to create an inspection program that can be utilized throughout the region,\u201d added Deb Kantrud, SCDRC executive director.<\/p>\n

Established in 2013, the Community Innovation Grant program is designed to inspire and support communities to use problem-solving processes that lead to more effective, equitable, and sustainable solutions. Projects receiving Community Innovation Grants can be at any stage in the problem-solving process, which includes: identifying the need, increasing collective understanding of the issue, generating ideas, and testing and implementing solutions.<\/p>\n

\u201cCommunity Innovation Grant recipients are tackling community problems in a way we believe most likely to result in real breakthrough solutions. They are engaging the community, collaborating with other organizations, and making the most of existing assets; in short, all of the things it takes to create a true community innovation,\u201d said Elli Haerter, Bush Foundation North Dakota and South Dakota activities manager.<\/p>\n

The Bush Foundation will award nearly $5 million to 34 organizations in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and the 23 Native nations that share the same geography, through its Community Innovation Grant program. South Central Dakota Regional Council serves the counties of Barnes, Dickey, Foster, Griggs, LaMoure, Logan, McIntosh, Stutsman and Wells. Eden Prairie, MN (CSi) Supermarket chain Supervalu announced Friday morning that is investigating an attack by hackers.<\/p>\n

The potential data breach happened at stores in Minnesota, North Dakota and several other states between June 22 and July 17, 2014.<\/p>\n

WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) – A Texas man is charged with terrorizing and physical obstruction of government function after authorities shut down the Williston airport for several hours over a suspicious laptop in his possession.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Brian Pyron, 53, was charged in the incident Thursday evening at Sloulin Field International Airport in the heart of North Dakota’s booming oil patch.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A police affidavit described the laptop as duct-taped with wires protruding from it. It says when Pyron was told the laptop needed to be checked, he asked to remove the hard drive and was denied. The affidavit says he then tried to run away.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The affidavit says explosive residue was found on the laptop, prompting authorities to call a bomb squad from Minot. Authorities eventually determined the laptop was not an explosive device.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Brian Fitch Sr. is accused of killing Officer Scott Patrick, who had stopped his car in West St. Paul July 30. The 39-year-old Fitch had three warrants out for his arrest when he was stopped.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The search warrants say Fitch’s ex-girlfriend told investigators she spoke with him on July 29 and that he sounded weird and angry. The woman told police Fitch said he planned to shoot police if he was stopped.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fitch is due in Dakota County District Court Friday afternoon on murder charges. He’s also facing charges in Ramsey County where he was arrested following a shootout with police.<\/p>\n

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Minot Daily News reports that the City Council this week approved an ordinance establishing city authority for a $2 million bond issue for the project. The bond would be paid off over 15 years with revenue from the city’s lodging tax.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The ordinance simply allows for bonding. City Manager Cindy Hemphill says financing details will have to be worked out in a final agreement with the State Fair that’s expected to be drafted for City Council consideration in October.

(AP) – The friend who was with Michael Brown when he was shot and killed by a police officer near St. Louis over the weekend is reportedly confirming that he and Brown had taken part in a robbery at a convenience store that day. That word comes from the attorney for Dorian Johnson, speaking to MSNBC (CSi 74). Police in Ferguson had earlier announced that Brown was suspected of taking cigars from the convenience store in what was described as a “strong-arm robbery.” Brown’s family is accusing police of trying to draw attention away from the shooting.\u00a0

It came amid a week of drama over a Russian humanitarian aid mission for people in eastern Ukraine caught in the crossfire of fighting between government troops and pro-Russian separatists.

Brantly and a second American, Nancy Writebol, were flown out of Liberia earlier this month and are being treated in an isolation unit at the Atlanta hospital.
