THIS FRONT WILL\u00a0 BE MONITORED OVER THE COMING DAYS FOR SEVERE POTENTIAL.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi) The Stutsman County Commission has delayed consideration of the bid the county received from Richard Geigle to purchase\u00a0a county owned building, the location of the Stutsman County Library.<\/p>\n<p>Geigle\u2019s bid was$40,000 to purchase the building.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy County Auditor, Linda Chadduck, says $17,000 remains to be paid on a repair to the building\u2019s roof.<\/p>\n<p>Commissioner Dale Marks said after the meeting the bid amount was a little less than for what commission members were hoping. Marks is also the chair of the James River Valley Library System Board of Directors.<\/p>\n<p>The County Commission has also approved a $90,000 request from the Jamestown\/Stutsman Development Corporation, to replace the roof of the Center for Economic Development building, in downtown Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>The county\u2019s share of the cost is $9,000, and the City of Jamestown\u2019s share will be $81,000.<\/p>\n<p>The early voting precinct hours at the Stutsman County Courthouse will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. October 20, 2014, to October 24, 2014 and from October 27 to Noember 3.<\/p>\n<p>The early voting precinct will also be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, November, 1.<\/p>\n<p>The early voting precinct will be in the waiting area for the county auditor, recorder\u2019s and county treasurer\u2019s offices in the Stutsman County Courthouse.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0 The JFAA 50th annual art show will be at the Jamestown Arts Center, September 13 \u2013 October 18, 2014, sponsored by Otter Tail Power Company.<\/p>\n<p>This year is a\u00a0 milestone for the Annual, particularly special as it\u2019s the JFAA Annual\u2019s 50th year.<\/p>\n<p>The Arts Center&#8217;s newsletter says, &#8220;It is a grand feat for a small town art show to survive 50 years. While participation has ebbed and flowed over the years, it continues to be a favorite exhibition for the Jamestown community.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>To commemorate this milestone\u00a0the Arts Center has \u00a0reached out to artists help with the celebration, hoping they participate in the exhibit, plus also asking them to create a small commemorative artwork that will be part of a special \u201cticketed\u201d preview.<\/p>\n<p>The way it will work is \u2026everyone who has a ticket will have a chance to receive an artwork (There will be a limited number of mini-artworks available\u2013we won\u2019t know how many until the last minute.) All incoming, donated artwork will be numbered.<\/p>\n<p>Corresponding numbers will be put in a bin. (AP) &#8211; The North Dakota Board of Higher Education took a $69-million chunk out of its $808 million backlog in deferred maintenance projects, and some board members say it&#8217;s not enough.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The board during a conference call meeting Wednesday approved more than $200 million in capital projects, including <strong>a new heating plant at Valley City State<\/strong> and new water and sewer lines at North Dakota State College of Science.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Board member Kevin Melicher, of Fargo, calls the need for building improvements &#8220;enormous&#8221; and believes the oil-rich state has the ability to fund more of them.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The board also approved 3 percent raises for most of the university presidents. (AP) &#8211; Police in Mandan say a vehicle owned by the North Dakota Tax Commissioner Ryan Rauschenberger was involved in a rollover incident in Mandan.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sgt. Jay Gruebele says a Chevy Tahoe being driven by 22-year-old Jesse Larson went off the road and rolled around 2:50 p.m. Tuesday.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Rauschenberger in a statement on Wednesday said he &#8220;showed poor judgment&#8221; when he lent his vehicle to Larson. Rauschenberger says he met Larson while undergoing alcohol addiction treatment.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Rauschenberger wasn&#8217;t in the vehicle during the incident. Police have cited Larson, of Mandan, with DUI and reckless driving. (AP) &#8211; A North Dakota regulatory commission has moved to require for the first time that companies post bonds to cover the cost of turning a wind farm site back to its original state when a facility is shut down for good.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Public Service Commissioner Julie Fedorchak says wind farms cover thousands of acres and can leave a large footprint.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 North Dakota law allows the commission to decide whether a wind energy project that has been operating more than 10 years should be required to file some form of financial guarantee to cover the cost of decommissioning and restoring the site.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Brian Kalk is the chairman of the commission. He says it&#8217;s important to ensure that land is reclaimed after a wind farm no longer operates.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Officials at a Bismarck food pantry say the facility for the needy has its lowest grocery inventory in nearly 40 years.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bismarck Emergency Food Pantry volunteer Linda Haider says demand for food is soaring with more people moving to the area in search of work.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Haider says July was the busiest month ever at the pantry.
