News) &#8212; The Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce has confirmed that Kimberly Saxberg has stepped down as the Chamber\u2019s Executive.<\/p>\n<p>Chamber President, Tim Burchill says, Ms. Saxberg and the Chamber parted ways, on Tuesday October 9, 2012.<\/p>\n<p>He did not indicate a specific reason, only to say that she &#8220;left voluntarily.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Burchill says a search committee is being formed to find a new Chamber of Commerce Executive.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the regular day to day operations of the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce is continuing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) &#8212; James Valley, Youth For Christ invites the public to the annual &#8220;Report to the People,&#8221; banquet.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday\u2019s, (Oct 11, 2012) Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Executive Director, Troy Gunderson said the banquet is Monday October 22, 2012 at 6:30-p.m., at the Jamestown Civic Center.<\/p>\n<p>He said to sponsor a table or to purchase a ticket to call 252-5501.<\/p>\n<p>A table sponsorship is $200, which includes 8-tickets.<\/p>\n<p>He said those tickets may be given to individuals, or back to Youth For Christ, which in turn will give the tickets away.<\/p>\n<p>The guest will be Christian music artist, Jason Gray.<\/p>\n<p>As of Thursday 10 table sponsorships remain, with goal of 90.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry Director, Kris Hunter, also on our show, said Teen City is open for after school drop-ins for middle school, and high school students from 3-5-p.m., on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, middle school students are invited to &#8220;Friday Night Fire.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>On Monday evening\u2019s from 7-to-9-p.m., high school students are invited to the Campus Life Club.<\/p>\n<p>The Tuesday before Thanksgiving, November 20, 2012, it\u2019s the Turkey Extravaganza.<\/p>\n<p>Youth For Christ in Jamestown has more information on all the programs, and activities.<\/p>\n<p>Gunderson pointed out that James Valley Youth For Christ is conducting a building campaign, to raise funds to expand the building to the west, to accomodation addition space for activities and programs.<\/p>\n<p>James Valley Youth For Christ is located at 202 4<sup>th<\/sup> Avenue, Southeast in Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>FAIRMOUNT, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Residents of the small southeastern North<br \/>\nDakota community of Fairmount are rattled after a high school boy<br \/>\nbrought a gun to class and shot himself.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mayor Jon Nelk calls it &#8220;a tragic day&#8221; that will shake up the<br \/>\ntown of 370 people for a long time.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Principal Jay Townsend says the boy survived what officials<br \/>\nbelieve was a suicide attempt Thursday morning. He says the boy did<br \/>\nnot threaten anyone else.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The freshman boy was taken to a hospital in Breckenridge, Minn.<br \/>\nTownsend says the boy was coherent. The hospital refused to release<br \/>\ninformation on his condition.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Townsend says the K-12 school has about 110 students. The school<br \/>\nwas put into lockdown for about an hour after the incident, then<br \/>\nstudents were allowed to leave with their parents.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>WEST FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A West Fargo man has pleaded guilty to<br \/>\nhis 14th drunken driving charge and been sent to prison.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sixty-year-old Kevin Tegtmeier was sentenced to four years<br \/>\nbehind bars, a year less than the maximum possible term requested<br \/>\nby prosecutors. Assistant Cass County State&#8217;s Attorney Cherie Clark<br \/>\nsays Tegtmeier &#8220;just doesn&#8217;t get it.&#8221;<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Defense Attorney Nicholas Thornton says prison time won&#8217;t<br \/>\naddress problems Tegtmeier has such as chemical dependency and<br \/>\npost-traumatic stress disorder from his service in the Vietnam War.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Forum newspaper reports that Tegtmeier was arrested July 13<br \/>\nwith a blood-alcohol level more than three times the legal limit<br \/>\nfor driving. (AP) &#8211; Authorities have seized eleven horses from a<br \/>\nsoutheastern North Dakota farmer accused of not taking care of<br \/>\nthem.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Ransom County Sheriff&#8217;s Office says the horses are<br \/>\nmalnourished and are now being cared for by volunteers in the<br \/>\nBismarck area. Prosecutors are considering charges against owner<br \/>\nRobert Dick.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Lisbon farmer says that some of his horses were<br \/>\nskinny because of the hot summer but that allegations that his<br \/>\nanimals are unhealthy are &#8220;total garbage.&#8221; He says he wants<br \/>\npeople to mind their own business.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dick was allowed to keep four horses.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The chairman of the Three Affiliated<br \/>\nTribes says construction should start next spring on a $400 million<br \/>\noil refinery.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It would be the first one built in the United States in more<br \/>\nthan 30 years.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tribal chairman Tex Hall says the tribe is financing the project<br \/>\nwith a bond sale. He&#8217;s not expecting any problem selling the bonds<br \/>\nto investors.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The U.S. Interior Department has agreed to put the refinery land<br \/>\ninto trust for the tribe&#8217;s benefit. Hall says that was the last big<br \/>\nstep before the refinery can be built.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He says it will process about 20,000 barrels of oil each day and<br \/>\nmake gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel and naptha.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hall says it&#8217;s the biggest economic project in the history of<br \/>\nthe Three Affiliated Tribes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem says<br \/>\nNorth Dakota law isn&#8217;t keeping up with what he calls an<br \/>\n&#8220;epidemic&#8221; of synthetic drug use.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Stenehjem says the problem is the drugs have changing chemical<br \/>\nmakeups, and some aren&#8217;t covered by the state&#8217;s laws against using<br \/>\nand selling illegal drugs.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He outlined plans for dealing with the problem at a legislative<br \/>\ncommittee hearing Thursday.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Stenehjem says a bill&#8217;s being drafted to make substances illegal<br \/>\nif they have a &#8220;core chemical&#8221; that&#8217;s common to synthetic<br \/>\nmarijuana and hallucinogens.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He says another approach is to outlaw the sale of any substance<br \/>\nwhen the seller knows the customer is going to use it to get high.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Synthetic drugs are often marketed as bath salts or incense.<br \/>\nUsers often smoke them, and Stenehjem says bad reactions are<br \/>\ncommon.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota&#8217;s corn and soybean crops are<br \/>\nexpected to be record size.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Agriculture Department in its latest forecast pegs the North<br \/>\nDakota corn crop at 390 million bushels, up 16 percent from<br \/>\nSeptember and up 80 percent from last year.<\/p>\n<p>Soybean production is forecast at 160 million bushels &#8211; up 25 percent over the month and up 42 percent over the year.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Flooding in 2011 hurt many North Dakota crops, leading to<br \/>\nsizable increases this year.<\/p>\n<p>The state&#8217;s dry edible bean crop also is expected to be a record, and sunflower and canola production both are forecast to be up more than 60 percent from last year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In sports\u2026<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The relocation of an NBA Development<\/p>\n<p>League team from the North Dakota capital of Bismarck to the<\/p>\n<p>California city of Santa Cruz is official.<\/p>\n<p>D-League officials on Wednesday announced the move that has been<\/p>\n<p>in the works for months. The Dakota Wizards will be renamed the<\/p>\n<p>Santa Cruz Warriors and will play in an arena under construction.<\/p>\n<p>The Wizards played 17 seasons in Bismarck, winning four<\/p>\n<p>championships in three different leagues. The team joined the<\/p>\n<p>D-League beginning with the 2006-07 season and won the league title<\/p>\n<p>that year.<\/p>\n<p>The NBA&#8217;s Golden State Warriors bought the Wizards last year.<\/p>\n<p>Golden State is based about 70 miles north of Santa Cruz in<\/p>\n<p>Oakland, Calif.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In world and national news&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>WASHINGTON (AP) &#8211; The government says 170 people have now been<br \/>\nsickened in the meningitis outbreak linked to tainted steroid<br \/>\nshots, and 14 of them have died.<\/p>\n<p>Idaho becomes the 11th state to report at least one illness.
