Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Rural Fire Department responded to a tanker that flipped over\u00a0 about a mile east of the Cavendish turn, (Stutsman County Road 40 2 1\/2 \u00a0miles east of Jamestown,) \u00a0Monday about 4:30-p.m.<\/p>\n

The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports, the truck tanker combination was hauling 6,400 gallons of water by-product from Jamestown to Spiritwood. The truck entered a sharp left curve. The truck slowed, the liquid load shifted causing the truck and trailer to roll. Both units came to rest in the south ditch.<\/p>\n

The driver, 50 year old\u00a0Dana Reidburn required extraction from under the front seat by the Jamestown Fire Department.<\/p>\n

Jamestown Area Ambulance transported the driver to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center.<\/p>\n

The crash remains under investigation.<\/p>\n

The NDHP was assisted at the scene by the stutsman county sheriff\u2019s office, jamestown fire and rescue, and jamestown area ambulance service.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown City Council\u2019s Budget Committee met Tuesday morning at City Hall. Council member Buchanan was not present.<\/p>\n

The request was approved by the committee from Jamestown Tourism for the 2015 calendar year, of $381,900.<\/p>\n

Tourism Director Searle Swedlund presented a breakdown of dollars requested in such area as marketing, and advertising.<\/p>\n

He noted grant dollars that are also available.<\/p>\n

Mayor Andersen said the expenses are justified, and added that Jamestown Tourism has its financial reports to the city updated regularly.<\/p>\n

She added that the city\u2019s 2015 budget has dollar available for the requested amount.<\/p>\n

Other budget requests are being reviewed from the JSDC, and the Jamestown City Enginering Department, and Jamestown Police.<\/p>\n

The committee approved allocating $20,000 as the city\u2019s share of operational costs at the Joint Law Enforcement Center in Jamestown.<\/p>\n

Planned improvements at the LEC includes some remodeling and replacements.<\/p>\n

The meeting was live on CSi 67.<\/p>\n

The final budget for 2015 will be approved at the October 6, 2014 City Council meeting.<\/p>\n

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) – Health officials are reporting the first confirmed case in North Dakota of a rare virus believed to be the cause of a severe respiratory illness that affects children.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Officials say the case of enterovirus 68 has been identified in a girl from Stutsman County. The germ is an uncommon strain of a common family of viruses that typically hit from summertime through autumn.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Jill Baber is a state epidemiologist. She says the girl is no longer hospitalized and recovered at home.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The virus can cause mild cold-like symptoms including runny noses, coughing and wheezing. Health officials say this strain is particularly harsh and children with asthma and other health problems are particularly at risk.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 There’s no vaccine for the virus. Most children recover within a week with no lasting problems.
\n\u00a0<\/p>\n

(CSi) The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports a single vehicle SUV rollover inflicted injuries to the occupants, northeast of Fairmount.<\/p>\n

The accident occurred Sunday about 9:45 a.m., on 92nd Street, SE at border of ND\/MN – N. of Fairmount<\/p>\n

The 1998 Chevrolet Blazerwas traveling on 92nd St. SE, also known as Township Rd 116, two miles north and two miles east of Fairmount when the vehicle rolled off the roadway into a drainage ditch. The vehicle came to rest in the drainage ditch. The vehicle’s three occupants were unrestrained.<\/p>\n

The passenger, Bailey Fisher-Peterson, was transported by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The other two occupants were:<\/p>\n

32 year old Nicholas Haney, ofFairmount, ND. Haney was transported by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

35 year old Jennifer Hust, of Jamestown, was transported by Life Flight to Sanford Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

Both Haney and Hust were identified as the possible driver of the vehicle and were both arrested for DUI.<\/p>\n

This is an on-going investigation by the NDHP.<\/p>\n

Update…<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) Over $8,900 was raised toward Huntington\u2019s Disease research, as between 4,000 and 8,000 people viewed classic vehicles at the “Dan Wilhelm Memorial Car and Bike Show”, held at Wilhelm Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC in Jamestown on Saturday. Participants and those viewing the vehicles encountered a couple of short duration rain downpours, which failed to dampen their spirits.<\/p>\n

The event organizer, and Wilhelm\u2019s dealership, Business Manger, Steve “Skovy” Jaskoviak, says about $700 more is expected to come in to add to the total. 147 vehicles, and 15 motorcycles registered.<\/p>\n

To commemorate the late Dan Wilhelm, the 4th Annual car show, also sponsored by James Valley Street Machines, and Stutsman Harley-Davidson drew entries from North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana and Minnesota.<\/p>\n

James Valley Street Machines started the car and bike show, three years ago, and in the past the car club and Wilhelm Chevrolet Buick GMC divided the cost of the event.<\/p>\n

This year, however, Wilhelm Chevrolet Buick GMC paid a majority of the car and bike show\u2019s costs, with the proceeds going to the Huntington\u2019s Diseas Society of America<\/p>\n

Dan Wilhelm passed away in 2012 at age 55 from the disease. A cure is yet to be found, as Huntington\u2019s disease, an inherited brain disorder that results in the progressive loss of mental faculties and physical control.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown City Engineer\u2019s Office reports that fogging operations in the City of Jamestown for adult mosquitoes began<\/p>\n

Monday night, September 22, 2014 and will continue throughout the week as is necessary.<\/p>\n

All fogging operations are contingent upon<\/p>\n

weather conditions.<\/p>\n

All fogging operations will take place between approximately 8:30 PM (dusk) until approximately 6:00 AM.<\/p>\n

Parents are advised to keep children out of the streets and away from the fogging machines.<\/p>\n

Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling in the vicinity of the fogging units.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown\/Stutsman Development Corporation (JSDC) has offered land it owns in Spiritwood Township for a crew camp that would house construction workers for the planned CHS nitrogen fertilizer plant at Spiritwood.<\/p>\n

The area is south of the Dakota Spirit AgEnergy ethanol plant now under construction.<\/p>\n

The location would be about 2 miles from the planned location of the CHS nitrogen fertilizer plant.<\/p>\n

JSDC CEO Connie Ova says the area offers access to water, sewer, electricity and natural gas.<\/p>\n

Global Markets, LLC representative Philip Culler, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, requested cost information for leasing land owned by the JSDC. Culler said his company has held discussions with CHS concerning furnishing a crew camp but did not have a contract.<\/p>\n

The JSDC Executive Committee agreed to recommend a rent of $125 per acre per year for land to be used by the crew camp.<\/p>\n

The lease would be available to CHS or any company with a contract from CHS to provide construction crew housing.<\/p>\n

Culler said initial discussion with CHS called for a crew camp capacity of 300 to 500 people by the spring of 2015 with a capacity of 1,800 people by spring 2016 through the end of the project in the first half of 2018.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Area Grief Support Team is offering a grief support group for anyone who is grieving the loss of someone important to them, whether the loss is recent or from years past.<\/p>\n

On Monday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2 JAGST, President, Char Freeberg said, the group will meet once a week at 7:00 p.m. at St. John\u2019s Lutheran Church, 424 1st<\/sup> Avenue S, Jamestown, beginning on Tuesday, October 7, <\/sup>2014 and will run for 6 weeks.<\/p>\n

In his book, Understanding Your Grief, <\/i>internationally recognized expert in the field of loss and grief, Dr. Alan Wolfelt states, “You can benefit from a connectedness that comes from people who have also had a death in their lives. Support groups, where people come together and share the common bond of experience, can be invaluable in helping you and your grief and supporting your need to mourn long after the event of the death”<\/i><\/p>\n

Also on our show, JAGST member Diane Witzig added, in our fast paced society, people who have had a significant loss are often expected to be \u2018over it\u2019 in a matter of a few weeks. They may even expect this of themselves. In reality, it may take years for someone to work through his or her grief. The support group experience helps individuals to understand and express grief in their own unique way and on their own unique timetable.<\/p>\n

Jamestown (CSi) Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) has been selected by the North Dakota Center for Nursing for a new pilot program for North Dakota Hospitals. As a part to enhance the work environment for nurses across the state, the ND Center for Nursing has designed a new program to help hospitals assess and plan for work environment improvements as part of Pathways to Excellence.<\/p>\n

Pathways to Excellence is an American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) program which recognizes health care and long term care organizations for positive practice environments where nurses excel. The Pathways to Excellence program started as the Texas Nurse Friendly Hospital program for rural and small hospitals in Texas.<\/p>\n

The benefits of work environment changes include improving nurse satisfaction, retaining choice nursing staff and leaders, cultivating inter-professional teamwork, championing quality nursing practice and supporting business growth.<\/p>\n

JRMC is one of six initial program hospitals in the state. As a hospital in the program, JRMC will receive customized support as they start their journey in determining work environment strategies and implementing changes.<\/p>\n

\u3000\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) – Police in Fargo are taking charge of the investigation into a missing North Dakota State University student who was last seen over the weekend.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities say freshman Tom Bearson, of Sartell, Minnesota, hasn’t been seen since leaving a party about 3 a.m. Saturday. The nursing student lives in a residence hall on campus.<\/p>\n

Bearson is a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, with blonde to brown hair and blue eyes.<\/p>\n

The area where Bearson was last seen is about six blocks south of his dorm. It was searched previously, but Monday\u2019s afternoon canvassing is more detailed.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lt. Joel Vettel\u00a0says \u00a0officers are searching \u00a0the neighborhoods around the campus. Fire fighters\u00a0 also searching \u00a0the Red River for signs of Bearson.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Vettel says authorities at this point are not asking the public to participate in any search.

\nThe 22-year-old woman was arrested early Tuesday on charges including driving under the influence, fleeing police and felony reckless endangerment. Formal charges were pending.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities allege the woman fled the traffic stop at speeds up to 60 mph. They say officers were not pursuing the vehicle when it rear-ended the ambulance.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Immunization Surveillance Coordinator Amy Schwartz says a couple of vaccine manufacturers are reporting delays in vaccine shipments, but officials still expect an adequate supply starting in October.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Officials at First District Health Unit in Minot have a shot clinic scheduled for Oct. 8 and are still waiting for vaccine to arrive. Spokeswoman Penny Hamilton tells KXMC-TV there are no plans right now to delay the clinic.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Schwartz says the state is urging everyone to get vaccinated, regardless of age or health status.

WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) – The North Dakota Public Service Commission is holding a public hearing in Williston on Sept. 30 about a proposal to transform an oil gathering pipeline into a transmission line.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Meadowlark Midstream Company, LLC wants to convert a 43.5-mile-long gathering pipeline that goes through Williams and Divide counties into a transmission line. The transmission line would take oil from a planned pump station in Divide County to the Colt Rail Terminal in Williams County and carry an estimated 35,000 barrels of oil a day. The project would cost $3.5 million.
