\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Todd Sando\u00a0says officials on Monday were getting outlet operations restarted.<\/p>\n

He says officials are confident they can ramp up to the outlet’s maximum flow soon.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The east-end outlet came online earlier this summer, to
\ncomplement a west-end outlet.<\/p>\n

A pipeline leak earlier this month led to ground erosion and pipe settling at the east-end structure.
\nSando says the repairs were covered under warranty.<\/p>\n

DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) – The east-end floodwater diversion \u00a0outlet on Devils Lake has been shut down for repairs. The problem was first reported by the Devils Lake Journal.<\/p>\n

State Water Commission Engineer Bruce Engelhardt tells The Associated Press that a pipeline leak earlier this month led to some ground erosion and pipe settling. He doesn’t have a cost estimate but says most of the repairs are the responsibility of a contractor.<\/p>\n

Engelhardt says he hopes the problem will be fixed in a matter of days.\u00a0\u00a0 The lake’s west-end outlet is still pumping excess Devils Lake water into the Sheyenne River. But with the east-end outlet shut down, the amount of water being moved off the lake is less than half what it was.
